Chapter 145: Chapter 145: Ansel Is The Luckiest Man
Since then, Victoria has allowed Ansel to accompany her whenever she needs physical therapy. Victoria has grown increasingly comfortable with Ansel’s constant presence, even though they’ve only just met. Victoria is actually a little curious: is Ansel her husband? If he isn’t, why would he go to such lengths for a stranger?
She was actually very curious about why Ansel was attracted to her. Two months had passed, and her body was finally recovering, but she still hadn’t received an answer from Ansel. Did he really like her, or was he really her husband?
Now Victoria could walk like a normal person. She invited Ansel for a leisurely walk around the hospital garden. What made her heart race was when Ansel held her hand as if treating her like a lover. Yet, their relationship was simply friendship.
"Ansel, now I have a question for you. Why are you so interested in accompanying me? Didn’t you say earlier that you just wanted to visit an acquaintance?"
Ansel smiled casually. "That was actually my original intention. But since I agreed to accompany you during your physical therapy sessions, I couldn’t leave you alone forever."
"Then, now you have to be honest with me. Have we ever been in a relationship before?" Victoria massaged her head with an innocent look. "Actually, I don’t remember anyone since my accident. I didn’t even know I was married."
"You are married?"
Victoria nodded, showing off the diamond ring hanging from her neck. "I suspect I’m actually married. But I still don’t know who my husband is."
"But this is so strange. If your husband really loves you, why has he neglected you until now?"
"That’s why I want to find the answers to all these riddles. If you’re not my husband, then there’s nothing more for me to ask."
"Well then, now it’s my turn to ask you a question. Are you willing to be my girlfriend?"
Victoria’s eyes widened and her mouth dropped open. They’d only been friends for two months, but she hadn’t expected Ansel to ask her out so quickly.
"But, this is too sudden."
"I’m actually very happy to be your friend. But I don’t want our relationship to be just friends; I want us to be a couple. I’ve always considered you my woman."
Victoria slowly released Ansel’s grip. "Sorry, it seems I can’t be your girlfriend just yet."
Ansel lowered his eyebrows, feeling like his heart was being pricked by rose thorns. "Was I too hasty in proposing to you?"
"Give me a little more time. I’m really still not used to the current situation. I’m also just recovering."
Even though Ansel felt his heart tighten, he still put on a sweet smile to reassure his friend. "Okay, I won’t rush into asking you to be my girlfriend. But if you’re ready, I’ll still accept you."

Matthias never imagined Ansel would love Victoria so much that he would pursue her from the start. He was actually envious at the thought of Ansel being able to accompany the woman he loved every day in the hospital. If only he had found his wife sooner, he wouldn’t have let her date and get engaged to another man.
"I didn’t expect him to be so cute. I’m so jealous." Matthias snorted in annoyance, folding his arms.
"That’s why you should have been more diligent in looking for me. Now you’re just jealous."
"He is truly very lucky to have you doing physical therapy."
"At that time, he was the only person who cared about me. My family seemed to be deliberately hiding me. Perhaps because he hid me, you had a negative opinion of me."
Matthias spontaneously hugged his lover tightly. "I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have accused you back then."
"It’s okay. The important thing is that I can be with you again now. I don’t want the same thing to happen again."
"I should be very grateful to Ansel for taking such good care of you while I was abroad. He’s truly reliable when it comes to taking care of women."
"I should have recorded what you said earlier so that he would be happy to hear it and consider you as his good friend."
Matthias rested his chin on his hand. "But if he were to betray me secretly, I certainly wouldn’t forgive him."

The next day, it was time for the husband and wife to return home in peace. Matthias called his personal assistant to drive him and his wife home. The journey from the hospital to their home was quite long, allowing them to chat leisurely in the passenger seat. Victoria’s wish finally came true: she could gaze upon her husband’s handsome face as much as she wanted and hold his hand.
"Matthias, usually you’re busy driving, and I don’t dare hold your hand. Now I can finally hold your hand as much as I want."
Matthias smiled mischievously, moving his lips closer to the tempting red ones before him. "Me too. I don’t mind letting my assistant drive my car, actually. It’s just so annoying having to focus on the road every time I drive you there and back."
"But are you going to keep doing this? There’s no way he’ll be working for you all the time. Besides, I’ve already planned a date for you every week."
"Actually, just today. Since you just got out of the hospital, I still want to play with you in the car."
Victoria laughed gracefully, hugging her husband tightly. "Thank you for staying with me at the hospital all those days. I don’t know why I’ve been bothering you lately, especially when I was pregnant."
"In fact, I like to skip work just to see you. Actually, I’ve been bored lately, even though I have so much work to do."
In fact, behind the black sedan, a black van suddenly appeared, seemingly chasing them. The assistant immediately slammed on the accelerator to avoid the van. However, the more he accelerated, the more the van caught up with them.
"What’s really going on?" Matthias asked, tightening his hug.
"Matthias, it looks like someone is chasing us. I suggest you and Victoria hold on tight!"
