Matthias made his friend’s favorite chamomile tea. He placed the cup on the table and sat down on the middle sofa.

"Because I don’t want our friendship to be ruined over something so trivial. I like you too, but I can’t give you my heart. I only like you as a friend."
Laura clutched her dress, trembling. "Yes, I admit I still like you. In fact, I’m jealous of you openly dating your wife."
"I just want you to be yourself. I don’t want you to become a bad person because of your selfishness. Always be friendly and humble, Laura. I really like that kind of personality of yours."
"Don’t worry, I’m not that type of person. I don’t want my life to end up like Amber’s."
Matthias patted his friend on the shoulder. "Thank God, that’s what made me like you. Because I know you’re a very kind and humble woman. You’re not selfish. You’re very much like Ansel."
"Speaking of Ansel, should Victoria have gotten engaged to him?"
Matthias’s eyes widened. "How did you know?"
"Actually, I met him yesterday. He told me everything, that Victoria was his ex-fiancée. But he’s already decided not to pursue her."
"So, are you and Ansel still as close as before?"
