King Hajif did not expect his Royal Preceptor, Duran, to become enraged upon hearing about the Queen, and to vehemently demand that the King immediately apprehend and eliminate Ling Tian.
Had he shown any hesitation or delay, the King would likely have believed his words, but King Hajif was no fool; the Royal Preceptor's reaction was overly intense.
At this moment, Old Carpensa spoke up.
"Your Majesty, Lord Royal Preceptor is correct. This incident is extremely serious, and we cannot tolerate it! I implore Your Majesty to immediately issue an order to arrest that fellow named Ling Tian!"
Although Old Carpensa and Royal Preceptor Duran had not coordinated their statements, Old Carpensa knew very well that Duran was fiercely protective of his own. He had investigated the events of that night and knew that Duran's disciple, Yodik, was involved. While not seriously injured, Yodik had lost face. A high monk running naked in public was a tremendous humiliation. Old Carpensa also knew that Royal Preceptor Duran intended to avenge his disciple, and he could not pass up such an opportunity.
"Lord Royal Preceptor, how can you say such a thing? If that fetus truly has a problem, can you bear the responsibility?" Old Aruoyou said.
"Lord Prime Minister, do you think my words are more credible, or the words of that young doctor? Moreover, that person is a foreigner, while I am the Royal Preceptor of our Darusalan Kingdom. Would I joke about matters concerning the nation's destiny? May I assume you are insulting me!"
Old Aruoyou did not continue speaking, as doing so would mean openly falling out with the Royal Preceptor. Royal Preceptor Duran held considerable influence within Darusalan, and if he openly supported the Carpensa family, it would not be good for the Aruoyou family.
King Hajif pondered, "Bring that doctor from Hua Nation here, and also that doctor from Wō Nation. I want to see what they have to say! If they are indeed spreading falsehoods to mislead the public, I will sanction them, even if it means causing international disputes!"
Before long, Ling Tian, Ali, and Yu Gong Jieyi were brought before the King under the escort of guards. The King's expression was icy. Ling Tian could sense his emotions but paid it no mind. In his view, what was a king?
"Ling Tian, you claim the Queen is carrying an evil entity. Do you know what a crime that is in our Darusalan Kingdom?" King Hajif asked in a displeased tone.
"Your Majesty, what are you implying? How have I been spreading falsehoods? I am merely speaking the truth, and I stand by my diagnosis!"
"But our Royal Preceptor said the Queen is merely ill, and the fetus is fine..."
"He is lying!" Ling Tian retorted without hesitation.
"How dare you! Master Duran is a highly respected monk. How can you slander him like this!" It was Old Carpensa who spoke. Ling Tian turned his head and gave him a contemptuous look.
"Mr. Carpensa, is it? You still have the nerve to speak!" After speaking, Ling Tian turned directly to face King Hajif.
"Your Majesty, the night before last, your son, Haimeier, stopped Ms. Yu Gong Jieyi on the street and attempted to assault her! Ms. Yu Gong Jieyi refused his improper demands and was attacked by them! Ms. Yu Gong Jieyi is a distinguished guest invited by your royal family to treat the Queen. She suffered such treatment in your country. I believe your country owes an explanation!"
Upon hearing this, King Hajif's brow furrowed even deeper. He hadn't expected such a thing to happen, and it was indeed embarrassing for the royal family. However, the King did not doubt the veracity of the matter. When he heard the name Haimeier, he knew it was likely true; the fellow was capable of such acts, and had done so before.
"I will investigate this matter and will certainly provide Ms. Yu Gong Jieyi with an explanation. However, this seems to have no bearing on your diagnosis of the Queen!" the King said coldly.
"Your Majesty, how is it unrelated? Because among those who participated in the attack on Ms. Jieyi was a monk, and that monk is this Royal Preceptor's eldest disciple, Yodik! I happened to pass by when Ms. Jieyi was almost in peril and stopped their crime. Of course, we acted in self-defense, which naturally caused some injuries. As for that Haimeier and this Master's disciple, I beat them severely. I imagine Master Yodik must have gone to his teacher to complain, much like a child who loses a fight and goes home to find their parents, hahahaha..."
Ling Tian unceremoniously revealed the truth of the matter, even with mockery and ridicule. The faces of Old Carpensa and Royal Preceptor Duran immediately turned extremely unpleasant. However, a hint of malice flickered in their eyes as they cast furtive glances towards Old Aruoyou. In their opinion, Ling Tian was an outsider and could not possibly have such a clear understanding of the country's situation and the undercurrents among the high officials. It was evident he had guidance from a wise person. They naturally assumed this wise person was Old Aruoyou, and that he would be the one to benefit the most from this.
However, Old Aruoyou, who appeared calm, was inwardly immensely shocked. He knew very well that neither he nor Young Aruoyou had disclosed any of this information to Ling Tian. Yet, Ling Tian clearly knew the situation within Darusalan like the back of his hand, which demonstrated his formidable intelligence-gathering capabilities.
At this moment, King Hajif's gaze swept towards the Aruoyou father and son.
"Aruoyou, is there anything of this nature?" Young Aruoyou stepped forward, bracing himself.
"Your Majesty, Doctor Ling Tian is correct. Such an unpleasant incident did indeed occur!"
"Why was I not informed?"
"Your Majesty, it was late, and I believed it inappropriate to disturb you with such matters. Moreover, the Queen's illness is paramount. Such issues should be addressed after the Queen has recovered."
In fact, the Aruoyou father and son had deliberately withheld this information from the King. This incident was a trump card, and a trump card was most powerful when kept hidden. Even if the Aruoyou family had reported this matter to the King, it might not have had the desired effect. King Hajif might have perceived it as the Aruoyou family seeking revenge on their political rivals. However, now that Ling Tian had brought it up, the Aruoyou family merely needed to corroborate it and convince the King of its truth, which would yield a completely different outcome!
