The sorceress Circe was troubled by her wand. All the magical energy reserves within it had been depleted. To cast spells again, she would need to draw upon the magical energy stored within her own body.
Of course, she couldn't just discard the wand. It was, after all, a magical amplifier. The magical energy released with it should be much more potent than if she were to cast spells barehanded.
Meanwhile, Ling Tian had switched to another talisman, directly infusing it with his true essence. A white orb of light struck the gargoyle squarely.
This time, the orb exploded instantly. Ling Tian heard the gargoyle let out a world-shattering roar.
Looking again at the gargoyle, its surface layer had been blown away. Several very deep cracks had appeared on its body, revealing a mottled, earth-like interior!
However, a mass of black mist immediately enveloped these wounds, and the areas that had been blown open began to heal miraculously, step by step. Within ten seconds, the cracks had completely healed, and the surface of the wounds became smooth again, as if it had never been injured.
Ling Tian did notice, however, that the gargoyle's recovery speed this time was much slower than before.
Moreover, the gargoyle, originally nearly two meters tall, had now shrunk to only about 1.6 meters. Its body volume had also reduced proportionally!
"I understand, so that's how it is!" Ling Tian slapped his thigh forcefully.
"Ali, use the Vajra Talisman. This thing is afraid of the Vajra Talisman."
Ling Tian finally realized that although the gargoyle was powerful and incredibly resilient, it was, at its core, an evil entity. Ling Tian had a way to deal with evil entities, and that was the Vajra Talisman.
The righteous energy emanating from the Vajra Talisman was precisely the bane of evil entities. That thing's power was far greater than any holy water.
Just now, Ling Tian had produced a Vajra Talisman and struck the gargoyle. It caused a violent explosion, and not only that, the energy released by the Vajra Talisman had also neutralized a significant portion of the gargoyle's energy.
Concurrently, this severe trauma also forced the gargoyle to consume more energy to recover. The gargoyle needed time to gather energy within its body. As its energy diminished, the volume the gargoyle could maintain also decreased proportionally, which was why Ling Tian saw the two-meter-tall gargoyle shrink to 1.6 meters.
Even from dozens of meters away, upon seeing that white light, the sorceress Circe felt a tremor in her soul. The righteous energy released by the Vajra Talisman made her, a lich formed from evil energy, tremble with fear!
"This, such powerful divine magic, how is this possible..."
Circe was mistaken. She had misidentified the righteous energy released by the Vajra Talisman as the pure and sacred magic wielded by the archbishops in churches.
Although the two things were not the same in essence, the threat they posed to entities like her was identical.
Seeing this, Ali's heart bloomed with joy. The little girl could no longer hold back and charged directly at the gargoyle.
The gargoyle thrust its sword towards Ali's chest. Ali exerted force with her feet, leaping into the air, soaring over two meters high. The gargoyle's sword missed its mark. At this moment, two talismans appeared in Ali's hand. She infused them with magical energy, activated the Vajra Talismans, and hurled them directly at the gargoyle.
Boom, boom...
Two white lights exploded on the gargoyle, while Ali, using her momentum, performed a forward roll and landed steadily on the ground.
Ali turned to look at the gargoyle. It was in a rather sorry state, having taken two Vajra Talismans. Several cracks had appeared on its body, with the deepest one almost splitting the gargoyle in half from the middle.
Furthermore, the gargoyle's left wing had been blown off entirely and lay on the ground.
However, as Ali saw a mass of black mist begin to spread over the gargoyle's body, she raised her hand and threw two more Vajra Talismans. This time, the gargoyle was blasted into even smaller pieces. Just then, Ali saw a piece of obsidian, the size of a human heart, fall to the ground, enveloped by swirling black mist!
Ali flickered, darting forward, and snatched the stone with her claw blades, then tossed it into her storage space.
After entering Ali's storage space and losing the surrounding spiritual energy supply, the stone immediately turned into ordinary obsidian.
Ling Tian also noticed the situation with Ali and directly unleashed several Vajra Talismans. The remaining gargoyle was also blasted into smithereens. Ling Tian, using his Heavenly Eye divine ability, quickly located the heart-sized stone within the gargoyle's body and, with a thought, collected it into his spiritual realm.
Without this stone, all the black mist that had enveloped the gargoyle's remains vanished!
Seeing this, the distant sorceress Circe felt her heart bleeding. The items Ling Tian and Ali had collected were called Gargoyle Hearts. As the name suggested, these were the cores of the gargoyles.
Gargoyles were essentially magical items, or rather, magical artifacts.
With this item, the gargoyle's body could coalesce. Even if the other parts of the gargoyle's body were pulverized, as long as the Gargoyle Heart remained and sufficient energy was supplied, the gargoyle's body could still reform.
But now, these two Gargoyle Hearts had vanished, and the mental imprints Circe had left on them had been forcibly erased.
Removing the original owner's mental imprint from an artifact was not an easy task. However, for Ling Tian and Ali, it was incredibly simple. All they had to do was store the items in their spiritual realm.
When the items and their owner were no longer in the same dimension, the connection established by the mental imprint would naturally be severed. Spatial laws were the ultimate laws!
At this point, Circe could no longer afford to care. She immediately chanted a spell, activating the two gargoyles beside her. These gargoyles, receiving Circe's command, flapped their wings and crossed dozens of meters of the altar, swooping down towards Ling Tian and Ali from above.
The old witch was now desperate. She was gambling, betting that Ling Tian and Ali had run out of magical energy.
She believed that Ling Tian and Ali had unleashed powerful divine magic consecutively and that their internal magical energy should be depleted. If these two gargoyles charged at them, they might not have any more magical energy to spare!
For spellcasters, once they ran out of magical energy, they were left at the mercy of others!
