Chapter 119 The Last Work

Upon hearing Kara's words, Amiya's gaze sharpened again. She looked coldly at Xia Qingtian, gripping the blade in her hand tightly.

"Amiya! You can't kill me. I've also come to avenge Herona! I can help you!" Seeing the sharp blade about to fall, Xia Qingtian shouted in desperation.

"You've also come to avenge my father?" Amiya hesitated.

"A will! Teacher Herona once sent me a will along with one of his paintings, wanting me to help his daughter. He said, he said Amiya might be impulsive, and asked me to help her no matter what, and if I could stop her, that would be best, but if not..." Xia Qingtian's heart was pounding frantically.

"Amiya, don't believe her nonsense! Hurry up and kill her!" Kara was increasingly convinced that Xia Qingtian was problematic.

That so-called will was clearly forged by the organization. Revenge, stopping her, these were impossible.

"Amiya, for Teacher Herona's sake!" Xia Qingtian looked into Amiya's eyes.

In her dreams, she had watched Amiya in the mirror, witnessing her transformation from a bright, sunny girl step by step into the abyss of revenge.

Xia Qingtian hadn't known Amiya before, but having watched her for five full years, it was impossible for Xia Qingtian not to have some feelings for her.

She truly didn't want Amiya to go astray, to make more mistakes.

Amiya looked into Xia Qingtian's eyes, slowly lowered the hand holding the knife, took a deep breath, and said to Xia Qingtian, "Tell me, what should we do."

"Amiya!" Kara stared at Amiya in astonishment.

Amiya actually believed this cunning woman from country Z.

Having narrowly escaped death, Xia Qingtian breathed a sigh of relief, then looked at Amiya and said, "Madame Camille trusts me very much. It's much safer for me to act than for you."

"What if you defect as soon as you see Madame Camille and expose us?" Kara glared at Xia Qingtian.

"What kind of foolishness are you spouting?" Xia Qingtian frowned, then said, "If you still can't believe me, I don't have to approach Madame Camille. You can go yourselves. I need to find Teacher Herona's last work."

"My father's last work?" Amiya was also startled by the mention.

"It was originally left to you by Teacher Herona. To be honest, I admit I didn't come to help you." Xia Qingtian knew that instead of calling for love in the center of the universe and trying to make Amiya believe she was purely here to help, it was better to make Amiya understand her personal motives.

Everyone is selfish. Words spoken out of selfish nature are more believable.

"I want that artwork. It's a masterpiece that can be passed down through generations, Teacher Herona's final piece," Xia Qingtian said earnestly. "As far as I know, that artwork has also fallen into Madame Camille's hands."

"Is it in the secret room?" Amiya pointed towards the direction of the secret room, where many of her father's paintings were kept.

"No. According to the latest clues, Madame Camille will claim this piece as her own work and formally exhibit it at tonight's banquet," Xia Qingtian said with mock seriousness.

"Damn it!" Amiya clenched her fists tightly by her side upon hearing this.

Hearing Xia Qingtian's words, Kara also began to believe her, albeit with some doubt. But as long as her mission could be completed smoothly, Kara didn't care about Xia Qingtian's life or death. "Then go find that artwork."

"Amiya, let's leave quickly," Kara said, looking at Amiya.

The organization's people were already preparing for backup outside.

"No, you go," Amiya said after taking a deep breath. "Now that I'm here, I have no intention of leaving."

"Amiya..." Kara stared blankly at Amiya.

"I want to avenge my father, I want to personally send Camille to hell, I want her soul to kneel before my father and repent, and I want to reclaim all the glory that belongs to my father." Amiya's gaze was resolute.

She would not rest until Madame Camille was dead.

She was determined to avenge her father!

With this thought, Amiya reached for the pocket where she kept her pocket watch – it was gone!

Her father's pocket watch was missing!

"My pocket watch!" Amiya exclaimed, frantically searching all her pockets. "My pocket watch is gone?"

"Why are you still worrying about a pocket watch now!" Kara's brow furrowed. Was this Amiya an idiot!

If the organization hadn't said they wanted to support Amiya as the new fashion icon and insisted she be taken away, Kara would have gladly left on her own.

What a liability!

"Is it Teacher Herona's pocket watch?" Xia Qingtian immediately asked.

"Yes! It's my father's pocket watch," Amiya replied immediately.

"Let's split up. I've seen that pocket watch and remember what it looks like. I'll look for it while I'm searching for the painting," Xia Qingtian said. "You can wait for me outside."

"Okay," Amiya nodded solemnly. This was the only way.

It was the last thing her father had left her, and she couldn't lose her father's pocket watch.

"Let's go," Xia Qingtian said, starting to walk towards the exit.

"Wait! We can't let her go!" Kara said anxiously.

"Then you can stall here with me. The banquet starts in less than an hour, and when the guests arrive, it will be impossible to either kill Madame Camille or take Herona's artwork away!" Xia Qingtian looked coldly at Kara. "If you want to die, that's your business, but don't drag me and Amiya down!"

With that, Xia Qingtian pulled Amiya behind her.

Kara looked at Xia Qingtian, then at Amiya, who had clearly sided with Xia Qingtian. Her brow furrowed, and she finally had to say, "Alright, we'll do as you say!"

After all, if things went south, she would just slip away with the design drafts herself.

The design drafts on her were the priority of the mission.

At worst, she could just have the organization pick another puppet to support.

The design drafts must not have any problems.

Xia Qingtian breathed a sigh of relief and immediately discussed the departure time and route with Amiya and Kara.

Exiting the small reception room, Xia Qingtian glanced at Amiya and then hurried forward.

"Amiya, I still can't trust her," Kara said, unable to help herself after Xia Qingtian had left.

"The look in her eyes when she looked at me wasn't a lie," Amiya glanced at Xia Qingtian's retreating back, then took a deep breath and said, "Let's go, I still need to kill Camille!"

Now, her desire to kill Camille had only grown stronger.

Camille had not only plagiarized her father's designs but also stolen his final work.

Camille must die!
