Li Chonglou’s gaze immediately fixed on a tall building, the best mall in the city, conveniently located at the very center of Raleigh. With his Heaven’s Eye divine ability, the range should be sufficient to survey the entire vicinity.
However, just as he was about to set off, an unexpected opportunity presented itself.
Across the street, a man with dyed red hair was walking hurriedly, glancing left and right. If he had been dressed in a business suit, Li Chonglou wouldn’t have paid him any mind, but what urgent business could a petty hoodlum possibly have?
No, to be precise, what legitimate business could a petty hoodlum have that was so urgent?
Li Chonglou instantly changed his mind and quickened his pace, following him.
“Damn it, I only owe them a little over a thousand bucks, and they’re sending people to catch me?”
As the red-haired hoodlum turned into a small alley, a figure suddenly appeared in front of him, blocking his path.
The red-haired hoodlum didn’t think much of it and was about to blurt out a curse when he looked up. By then, his neck was already in the other person’s grip.
Such strength!
“Take me to the biggest casino.”
The person was a stranger, and his voice was very calm, but for some reason, the red-haired hoodlum had an intuition that if he dared to refuse, he would meet his end on the spot!
“Boss, who are you? I have business to attend to.”
Before the red-haired hoodlum could finish his sentence, Li Chonglou tightened his grip slightly, causing the former’s face to instantly turn bright red.
“I’ll take you, I’ll take you!”
Only then did Li Chonglou release him. The red-haired hoodlum touched his neck, still shaken. He dared not disobey and could only reluctantly turn back with the man.
Yet, after only a few minutes, three burly men appeared in their line of sight.
“There!”
One of the bald, burly men pointed in their direction and strode towards them aggressively.
It’s over.
The red-haired hoodlum’s expression changed, and a hint of paleness spread across his face.
“What’s going on?”
Li Chonglou frowned. The red-haired hoodlum could only explain his debt.
“Boss, perhaps you should find someone else. These are from the Axe Gang. They’re the local overlords, and even the police have people working for them.”
Li Chonglou hadn’t expected the man to be so loyal, but his words also gave him a better idea.
“It’s fine, just keep leading the way.”
Seeing this, the red-haired hoodlum could only pretend not to see anything, but he was stopped less than a minute later.
“Xiao Qiang, you little punk, you’re getting bold! You don’t even run when you see me now. Have you got the money?”
Xiao Qiang, the red-haired hoodlum, said with a苦笑 (bitter smile), “Brother Baldy, can you give me a few more days for the money? I just found a client, and I’ll have the money to pay you back once I’m done.”
Xiao Qiang pointed at Li Chonglou behind him. The bald man glanced over, seeing that Li Chonglou wasn’t even half his size, and sneered.
“A few more days? Xiao Qiang, do you think your wings have hardened so much that you don’t need to follow the Axe Gang’s rules anymore? When has the Axe Gang ever allowed delays?”
As he spoke, the bald man raised his fist. Xiao Qiang flinched, instinctively hiding behind Li Chonglou.
“Brother, we’re a bit busy right now. Can we deal with his matter later?”
Li Chonglou spoke calmly, but the bald man paid no heed and coldly shouted, “Who do you think you are! Does the Axe Gang’s business require your input?”
Li Chonglou’s eyes turned cold. Seeing the bald man’s fist already swinging towards him, and the others on the scene showing no reaction, in the next second.
“Bang!”
The bald man’s body was suddenly sent flying backward, crashing heavily onto a roadside lamp.
His two accompanying subordinates were stunned for a few seconds before they reacted.
“Brother Baldy!”
The two of them rushed over to check on him, while Li Chonglou had already turned to Xiao Qiang and said calmly, “Keep leading the way to the biggest casino.”
Xiao Qiang was already dumbfounded. He never expected a random person he met to be so terrifying!
Could someone who could send people flying like this be a legendary cultivator?
Thinking back to his own actions, his face turned even paler. He stood there, frozen and bewildered.
“I told you to lead the way, didn’t you hear me?”
Xiao Qiang snapped out of his daze, quickly bowed, nodded, and hurried ahead.
As Li Chonglou passed the three men, he glanced at the bald man who was clutching his chest.
A few minutes after they left, the bald man finally recovered.
“Damn it! That hurt like hell! Where is he? How dare he cause trouble on the Axe Gang’s turf? I’ll melt him!”
Perhaps due to the fact that it was their territory, the bald man’s first reaction wasn’t fear, but a desire to find Li Chonglou and get revenge! However, the man was long gone, and the street was empty.
At this moment, one of his subordinates spoke, “Brother Baldy, I just heard him tell Xiao Qiang to take him to the biggest casino. It must be…”
“The biggest casino? Black Market! Let’s go, follow me!”
The bald man’s eyes lit up. Filled with rage, he struggled to get up. However, another subordinate quietly said, “Brother Baldy, that guy probably knows how to fight. Should we just go like this?”
*Bang!*
The speaking subordinate received a punch to the head and winced, covering it.
“Are you out of your mind! This guy clearly isn’t ordinary. Are we going to deliver ourselves to him? Let’s go back and gather more people! A mere cultivator dares to be so arrogant in the Axe Gang’s territory?”
The bald man stormed off, while the subordinate who was hit grumbled aggrievedly in a low voice, “I was just afraid you wouldn’t know.”
Meanwhile, after leading the way for a while, Xiao Qiang suddenly looked as if he had something to say but hesitated. He kept turning back, wanting to speak, but ultimately refrained.
Li Chonglou said calmly, “If you have something to say, just say it. Don’t be so indecisive like a woman.”
Xiao Qiang then said cautiously, “Uh, boss, you shouldn’t have revealed where we were going. The biggest power in the Black Market is also our Axe Gang…”
“Just lead the way, you don’t need to worry about anything else.”
Xiao Qiang nodded, but a worried expression still lingered on his face.
This is finished. Bringing such a demon with me, I probably won’t be able to survive in Raleigh anymore.
Little did the young man know that even though he was forced to lead the way, if anything were to happen, his fate would be far worse than simply being unable to survive in Raleigh!
About ten minutes later, led by Xiao Qiang, they arrived in front of an old residential building.
The surrounding streets also looked dilapidated, and there were hardly any people to be seen.
Most importantly, there were no guards. If Xiao Qiang wasn’t leading the way, Li Chonglou might have thought he had come to the wrong place.
However, after taking a look with his Heaven’s Eye divine ability, he saw that there was indeed something significant underground. Li Chonglou then smiled.
