At this moment, over a dozen dark gun muzzles were pointed at him. The long-haired man seemed unfazed by the hostage Li Chonglou held.
Li Chonglou had anticipated this. He suddenly released the unconscious bandit he was holding and raised his hands, saying,
"I'm just looking for a way to survive."
The long-haired man was momentarily stunned by Li Chonglou's action.
"In that case, put your hands on your head and kneel down immediately!"
The long-haired man quickly recovered and shouted at Li Chonglou.
Kneeling was out of the question, but Li Chonglou complied by dropping the gun and crouching down with his hands on his head.
The long-haired man narrowed his eyes and immediately ordered his men to approach.
However, at that moment, a white shadow suddenly shot out from under the plane and, with extreme speed, instantly appeared before the long-haired man.
"Damn it!"
The long-haired man's face turned ashen. He tried to raise his gun, but it was too late. Yet, his reaction was incredibly swift; he grabbed a nearby soldier and used him as a shield.
*Splat.*
With the sound of flesh being torn, the unfortunate soldier pulled in front of him immediately died on the spot!
Three deep claw marks were etched into his heart, and hot blood sprayed out like a fountain!
Before he could even react, he heard the screams of his companions. As he instinctively turned his head, a scene that would forever be seared into his memory met his eyes.
The little white creature, like the embodiment of death, moved rapidly through the crowd. Wherever it went, silver light flashed, and fierce bandits fell like leeks, collapsing in droves.
In the mere few seconds the long-haired man was stunned, more than half of his men were killed or wounded!
He had encountered a tough opponent!
"Don't kill me!"
To Li Chonglou's surprise, the long-haired man offered no resistance, discarding his gun and kneeling on the ground.
This act, however, bought him a temporary reprieve. Li Chonglou, who had intended to capture the leader first, temporarily spared him and turned towards the other bandits.
In less than a minute, only the long-haired man remained among the surrounding bandits.
Li Chonglou approached him with a chilling gaze and asked coldly, "Where is this, and what is your objective?"
O'Neal, while kowtowing, said, "My lord, please spare me. I am merely a mercenary captain. This is Secret Base 13. Our mission was just to bring people in. I never intended to kill anyone."
Mercenaries? Secret Base 13?
Li Chonglou immediately realized, "You mean there are others here besides you?"
"No, no, no, there's no one else here besides us, but more people should be arriving later."
The more Li Chonglou heard, the more he felt this situation was not simple. He decided to tie up O'Neal first and then took him to the side.
After they reached the relative safety of a large tree, Li Chonglou began to inquire about everything here.
O'Neal dared not hesitate, answering almost every question Li Chonglou posed.
First, regarding Secret Base 13, according to O'Neal, it was a joint experimental base established by several major powers and built upon an unsolved mystery. However, O'Neal was unaware of the specifics of the research or what this "unsolved mystery" entailed.
Secondly, concerning the current state of the island.
O'Neal stated clearly that there were no other mercenary groups on the island because, years ago, Secret Base 13 experienced an anomaly that resulted in the death of everyone on the island!
Their presence there was due to a recent mission posted on the dark web for Secret Base 13. They were among the first to accept the mission and thus arrived first.
"This mission has not been canceled yet, and more people should arrive later. If you want to leave, you might as well wait here for a few days."
Li Chonglou's expression darkened. According to O'Neal, they had virtually no other supplies, only basic rations and weaponry.
This was because their mission objective was simply to drive a group of living people into Secret Base 13 to receive a substantial bounty. Therefore, they expected to leave quickly and did not have many reserves.
This meant that if he wanted to leave now, it was impossible.
Furthermore, he had a vague feeling that he was once again being drawn into something complicated.
"No, if it continues like this, I don't know when I'll be able to return!"
Li Chonglou thought to himself, having made up his mind to leave as soon as possible. He then asked O'Neal again.
"Do you have any communication equipment here?"
He had asked casually. Although his phone was destroyed, the people on the plane must have had phones. As long as he could contact the outside world, he could have Long Shi arrange for someone to pick him up.
However, Li Chonglou did not expect that his casual question would elicit another piece of bad news.
"Yes, but I can't guarantee that I can contact the outside world immediately."
"What do you mean?"
"The magnetic field here is very peculiar. Ordinary communication equipment doesn't work here. Only specific equipment can contact the outside world, and even then, the situation is unstable. I've been here for three days and only managed to connect once."
Li Chonglou frowned and asked, "Where is that equipment? Take me there immediately!"
However, as soon as he finished speaking, he noticed someone peeking out from the cabin of the plane.
O'Neal did not notice this, so he quickly agreed, "No problem, I can take you there now, as long as you don't kill me."
Li Chonglou pondered for a moment and said faintly, "As long as you're honest, I won't kill you."
"But let's put this on hold for now."
With that, Li Chonglou suddenly knocked O'Neal unconscious with a hand chop and then, concealing his presence, quietly crept towards the plane.
The person who had peeked out was none other than the bandit who was supposed to be unconscious and still in the plane.
He had clearly faked being unconscious, deceiving both Li Chonglou and everyone else. Li Chonglou hadn't expected that after he left, the people in the plane wouldn't immediately take control.
Meanwhile, inside the plane, that bandit had once again gained control of the situation.
"Cry your mother's ass! Cry again and I'll shoot you!"
A group of people were huddled fearfully in the tail of the cabin.
