The pain in her wrist was constant and sharp.
Ye Luan forced herself to calm down. She looked up at Xiao Chi Zhan, whom she hadn't seen in a long time, and the sharp, alluring fox-like eyes softened.
"Your Highness, you're hurting me."
Her voice was soft and sweet, reminding Xiao Chi Zhan of the night he left and they were intimate. She had clung to him like this then, making him lower his guard.
Good!
Very good!
"Hurting you? You have such a poor memory, you deserve to be hurt."
Ye Luan looked at the bloodthirsty smile on his lips, feeling both terrified and exhausted.
She couldn't escape!
She could never get away.
A man as obsessive and terrifying as him would never let her go.
Would he only let her go when he saw her dead with his own eyes?
Dead?!
Ye Luan's eyes darkened. She glanced at the cliff behind her, an idea forming in her mind.
She suddenly let out a cold laugh. Under the moonlight, her alluring fox-like eyes were filled with mocking amusement.
"Xiao Chi Zhan, you've fallen in love with me."
In the pitch-black mountains, soldiers held their torches high, blocking all escape routes, their formations tight as they surrounded the area.
Li Qiong Yu leaped onto a tree, watching the commotion below with a detached amusement.
A flash of white light, and a sharp blade sliced through skin, cold and terrifying.
Ye Luan looked at the man before her with indifference, making no move to dodge.
"What is love?"
His voice was cold and deep, his crimson eyes fixed on her face.
Ye Luan gave a sarcastic smile, "A demon like you would never understand."
Demon.
"Yes, you're right. I am a demon."
He grabbed her chin, his crimson eyes chilling, "If I kill you, then I won't be so heartbroken, right?"
The blade pressed against her skin, its chill bone-deep.
"You'd better kill me quickly, otherwise, one day, you'll be in so much pain you'll wish you were dead."
"So much pain you'll wish you were dead?! Hahahaha!"
Xiao Chi Zhan laughed heartily, then swept her up by the waist, forcefully pulling her into his embrace.
The cold blade lifted her chin, and his dark crimson eyes held a hidden pain.
"It does hurt. You've tormented me to the point of illness, so if I kill you, everything will end, won't it?"
Hearing his words, a fierce hatred and anger surged within Ye Luan.
"Yes, tormenting each other will only make both of us suffer more. Kill me, just kill me."
The aura around him grew colder and more sinister.
He stared at her intently, speechless.
Ye Luan mocked him with a sneer.
"Xiao Chi Zhan, you can't bear to do it. You can't bring yourself to."
'Then, one day, I will return every single humiliation you've inflicted upon me.'
Xiao Chi Zhan looked at her coldly, the surrounding air growing thinner, making it hard to breathe.
His overly alluring crimson eyes flashed with mockery.
The grip on her waist tightened.
"Yes, I surprisingly can't bear to."
As he spoke, his eyes darkened slightly, his voice dropping to a terrifyingly low level.
"Since I can't bring myself to kill you, I will lock you away forever, where no one can see you, and you have nowhere to escape."
Ye Luan didn't hear his words clearly. Disregarding the blade, she pushed him away and stepped back.
Her extremely captivating face bore a faint, mocking smile.
"Xiao Chi Zhan, you lost!"
The cold wind howled, the shadows of the trees danced.
"From the moment you fell in love with me, you lost, completely and utterly. You have to endure all the humiliation I've given you, because you love me."
She retreated step by step, continuing to provoke him.
Xiao Chi Zhan looked up, gazing at her movements with indifference, his deep crimson eyes holding an unreadable emotion.
He extended his pale hand, his terrifyingly cold voice ringing out.
"Luan Luan, come here."
Ye Luan looked at him coldly, "Get it straight, it's you who can't let me go, it's you who can't control yourself. What right do you have to command me?"
"I'll say it again, come here!"
His voice suddenly rose, startling a flock of crows in the mountain forest.
Ye Luan swallowed, glancing back at the not-so-high cliff. Dead branches spanned the edge, and below, a rushing river churned.
She'd gamble.
Gamble with her life.
She turned, casting a lingering glance at the terrifying, sinister man, and grinned.
"Xiao Chi Zhan, I will never love you. We! Shall never meet again!"
Her lithe figure suddenly plunged downwards like a butterfly.
Xiao Chi Zhan's pupils widened in shock. In an instant, his eyes turned crimson, and he moved with ghost-like speed, leaping down to follow her.
The onlookers on the cliff were stunned.
"Xiao Chi Zhan!"
"Your Highness!!!"
Below the cliff.
The biting cold wind sliced like a sharp sword.
Ye Luan stared in shock at the man who had caught her around the waist. Her heart contracted violently, and his obsessive, fanatical voice reached her ears, exceptionally gentle.
"Luan Luan, you can't escape. In this life, and the next, you'll never escape my grasp."
A branch snapped with a crack.
The knife in his hand fell.
Ye Luan could no longer pretend. She cursed him aloud.
"You crazy lunatic, are you trying to die? I don't want to die with you."
Damn it.
The dead branch couldn't support their combined weight and snapped.
She thought he would let go of his obsession and her if he saw her dead.
She never expected this madman to jump down with her.
Her eyes felt sore and uncomfortable.
She thought it must be because he was holding her so tightly.
"I'll die with you. We'll go to hell together."
Madman!
Crazy lunatic!
The speed of their fall was so fast she felt suffocated. Held tightly by him, her ribs ached.
Her eyes reddened with tears, and she dug her nails into the soft flesh of his waist.
"Why won't you let me go? Why? Do you know you're driving me to death? You crazy lunatic---"
Why did he jump down?!
Why did he follow her down?
He was deaf to her words, holding her fiercely as if wanting to meld her into his body, never to be separated.
"Xiao Chi Zhan, I don't want to die."
Her faint sob reached his ears. Xiao Chi Zhan's gaze deepened, his grip on her waist tightening, and he suddenly twisted.
She ended up sprawled across him.
"Then stay with me in the mortal world forever."
His voice was low and sinister, his alluring crimson eyes filled with a pathological stubbornness.
"I will lock you up, forever. You can't run, you can't run!"
He popped a honey candy into his mouth, then forcefully held her head down, sealing her lips with his, sweetness mingling.
The cold wind, sharp as knives, brushed against their cheeks, bringing a slight sting.
His cool breath, laced with the sweet candy, filled her entire nervous system.
Ye Luan was so furious she couldn't even cry anymore.
It was too much of an insult.
They were about to die, and he was still forcing a kiss on her.
The fall was too fast. Ye Luan closed her eyes in pain, seeing nothing.
With a splash, a burst of water.
A flash of white light suddenly appeared before her eyes, and a suffocating sensation washed over her. As she fainted, his fanatically obsessive voice reached her ears.
"Lock her up, imprisoned for life."
