Chapter 357: Chapter 357: Is This What You Think About All Day?
The breakfast in the mansion varied daily, but its richness remained constant.
To cater to Shen Cheng’s taste, the table was recently filled with light and nourishing dishes.
Shen Cheng sat at the table, barely visibly frowning.
Although the kitchen made the meals look very appetizing, her persistent morning sickness left her with little appetite.
Seeing her motionless, Shi Yu’s eyes immediately turned cold: "Clear this table and bring in a new one. If the Young Madam still can’t eat, there’s no need for the chef to come in tomorrow."
The maid wiped a cold sweat on the side. Since the Young Madam became pregnant, the kitchen has already gone through seven chefs.
Shi Yu turned to Shen Cheng: "What do you feel like eating today?"
Shen Cheng shook her head without speaking. Enduring the bouts of nausea in her stomach, she hardly had the energy to respond to him.
Shi Yu reached out and gently rubbed Shen Cheng’s back, trying to offer some comfort.
But this had little effect; after a while, Shen Cheng brushed his hand away and went to the bathroom.
Though the soundproofing in the bathroom was good, Shi Yu could still vaguely hear sounds coming from inside, indicating how uncomfortable Shen Cheng felt.
Shi Yu immediately called the private doctor.
Anxious and distressed, his tone was naturally not very pleasant: "Is there any way to alleviate the morning sickness?"
The person on the other end knew his temperament well and did not dare to delay: "Young Master, we should start with a light diet for the Young Madam..."
Shi Yu cut off impatiently: "If that were enough, what would I need you for?"
From the other end of the phone came an embarrassed voice: "Yes, what Young Master said is right. Pregnant women are very sensitive to smells, they prefer fresher scents, like the fragrance of jasmine flowers..."
Before the sentence was completed, Shi Yu hung up the phone.
The person on the other end of the phone, listening to the dial tone, felt a sense of relief.
They prayed that their suggestion would work, or else their job was likely on the line again...
Shen Cheng was tormented in the bathroom for a full half-hour and appeared quite exhausted when she came out.
Suddenly, a whiff of fragrance passed by her nose, and she immediately recognized the scent of jasmine.
A couple of days ago, during a walk, she had seen the jasmines budding, guessing they would bloom any day now. She hadn’t expected the fragrance to carry so far.
After taking a deep breath, Shen Cheng felt her mood and spirits lift a bit before returning to the dining room.
On the dining table, a large bunch of white jasmines stood in a vase, and throughout the room, each servant held a bunch of jasmines to perfume the air, leaving no corner untouched.
"What are they doing?"
Shen Cheng looked at them curiously.
Of course, Shi Yu didn’t like his people focusing their attention on others.
He pulled Shen Cheng into his embrace, sitting her on his lap: "Why watch them, they are just working."
Shen Cheng glanced again at the spotless dining hall. Shi Yu gently pinched her chin, forcing her to turn her head towards him: "Look at me."
Shen Cheng understood, but teased him anyway: "Will you treat other women this tender too, in the future?"
Shi Yu’s lips curved upwards slightly: "Is that what you think about all day?"
Shen Cheng leaned her head on his shoulder, her lips close to his ear, smiling as she said: "I’m just curious."
Shi Yu turned his head to steal a kiss from her lips and said earnestly: "Listen, there is no other woman. There has only ever been you, and there will only ever be you."
"..."
"Don’t ask such foolish questions in the future."
"I..."
"Be quiet."
"I just wanted to ask if you’ve picked all the jasmines in the courtyard?"
