Chapter 383: Chapter 383: No Way!
Shen Cheng’s gaze pierced through the cafe’s floor-to-ceiling windows and cast out toward elsewhere.
Her eyes were distant, as if lost in thought.
Mo Qingxin finally lost her patience and broke the silence first: "Have you made up your mind? Is it going to be preserving Shen Mu’s life or keeping the child within you?"
Shen Cheng did not immediately respond to her question, showing almost no reaction.
Just when Mo Qingxin was about to speak again, she saw Shen Cheng slowly shift her gaze onto herself.
A hint of chill emanated from Shen Cheng’s eyes.
She looked at Mo Qingxin, her face calm, "I want to save both of them."
A dangerous aura began to emanate from her in an instant.
Mo Qingxin, however, did not take it seriously and chuckled: "At this point, I’m afraid it’s no longer up to you."
"It’s not up to me?"
Shen Cheng suddenly laughed lightly, her hand striking like lightning, pinching Mo Qingxin’s neck with a thunderous speed!
Mo Qingxin’s expression subtly shifted from mockery to shock.
Trapped by the chokehold, she could hardly move.
Shen Cheng’s eyes narrowed slightly, resembling a deep abyss, where no ripple could ever be stirred, "Try and move if you wish to die."
Mo Qingxin made no move, simply locking gazes with her.
Shen Cheng’s fingers gathered strength ever so slightly, knowing full well she could easily end Mo Qingxin’s life if she so desired!
Mo Qingxin forced herself to stabilize her spirit, smiling, "What, do you dare to kill in here?"
"How do you know I wouldn’t dare?" A chilling, lethal smile curled the corners of Shen Cheng’s lips, as if it could consign people to their death.
Mo Qingxin actually began to laugh, "Don’t forget, I hold your weakness in my hand."
Upon hearing this, Shen Cheng’s hand tightened slightly, her cool gaze resting on Mo Qingxin, emitting a light chuckle, "So what?"
As she spoke, she suddenly extended her other hand.
Her fingernails traced across Mo Qingxin’s face, leaving behind a pale streak that quickly vanished.
Shen Cheng’s calm was almost unsettling: "Tell me, if I were to kidnap you, would someone come forward and willingly exchange my brother for you?"
Mo Qingxin had not expected this tactic, and she laughed dismissively, regaining her composed demeanor: "My life cannot pose a threat to anyone."
She fell silent for a second, then added, "As long as the mission is accomplished, I don’t mind paying a heavy price."
Shen Cheng just smiled and said nothing.
The overwhelming pressure exhausted Mo Qingxin’s patience: "If you want to watch your brother die, then kill me! If not, abort the child in your womb!"
Suddenly, Shen Cheng withdrew the hand from her neck, pulled out a dagger from her waist, and pressed it against her own neck while nonchalantly tilting her head to gaze at Mo Qingxin: "What if I choose death?"
"You can’t!"
Almost reflexively, Mo Qingxin’s hand grasped the sharp dagger, cutting her palm open, and the glaring crimson blood flowed down from her hand.
Shen Cheng was slightly startled by her extreme reaction but quickly regained her composure.
She gently curled up the corners of her lips and asked, "Why not?"
What she had just done was a gamble; she bet that Mo Qingxin didn’t want her to die.
Unexpectedly, she won this round.
And in this moment, she truly realized the secret behind all this was not simple.
Otherwise, how could those Death Soldiers be watching her every move all the time and protecting her, whether explicitly or implicitly?
