A harsh screech of brakes echoed as Black Knife pulled the car over to the side of the road.
As the car stopped, the subordinate sitting in the passenger seat found his legs trembling uncontrollably.
"Damn it, didn't you say you knew where they went? Tell me, where are they!"
Black Knife cursed, his face contorted with ferocity. Before the subordinate could answer, he grabbed the younger man by the neck and violently slammed his head against the center console. The impact made the dashboard of the minivan bang loudly.
While repeatedly smashing the subordinate's head against the console, Black Knife continued to curse him. Blood soon began to seep from the subordinate's forehead.
"Where are they! Huh?"
Black Knife's hand didn't stop. The bulging veins on his forehead showed that he was at the peak of his anger. The few subordinates behind him were so scared they didn't dare to breathe.
They knew that if they lost the target, they wouldn't have a good outcome when they returned.
A moment later, the subordinate in the passenger seat had been beaten unconscious by Black Knife. Black Knife let him go, leaned back against the seat, took a deep breath, and began to consider his next course of action.
However, just as Black Knife was about to turn back to check, Kun Liu's voice came through the walkie-talkie.
"How's it going, Knife?"
"Liu... Brother, I, I lost them."
Black Knife held the walkie-talkie with a look of shame, speaking hesitantly.
Upon hearing Black Knife's words, there was a long silence on the other end of the walkie-talkie.
"Knife, go guard the entrance of the Lin family. I'll try my luck at the Lin family young master's racetrack in the eastern district. I hope we can make it in time."
Kun Liu's voice came through the walkie-talkie, his tone also a bit heavy, clearly not very confident himself.
Putting away the walkie-talkie and ignoring the subordinate in the passenger seat, Black Knife restarted the car and drove towards the Lin family headquarters.
"Turn around, head to the racetrack on the outskirts of the eastern district."
Kun Liu had just left the street where the fight had occurred. He hadn't gone far before ordering the convoy to turn around and head towards the Nian An racetrack in the eastern district.
He hoped he could intercept them before they returned to the racetrack.
Kun Liu muttered to himself, though he knew the possibility was very slim.
...................................................................................
As the car drove out of the city, Lin Yan and Rens accelerated to 150k.
All the way, Matt's heart had been in a state of constant unease. Now, it finally settled down.
After parking the car and getting out, there were originally nearly three hundred bodyguards at the Nian An racetrack and Lin Yan's manor. With the additional personnel brought back this time, the total exceeded five hundred, ensuring absolute safety.
"Young Master, are you alright?"
As he got out of the car, Qi Ze, who had just returned, hurried to the car door and asked Lin Yan, while also taking a look at him. Seeing that his young master was unharmed, Qi Ze breathed a sigh of relief. If anything had happened to his young master, he truly wouldn't have known how to face the family head.
They had just returned, less than five minutes before Lin Yan. Although Lin Yan had taken a detour around the city and driven very fast, he was still a little slower than Qi Ze and the others due to the longer distance.
Lin Yan waved his hand, indicating that he was fine, and then turned to look at Rens, who was getting out of another car.
"Arrange a room for him to stay."
"Okay!"
Someone immediately went to arrange for Rens to stay in a guest room in the office building. The racetrack was so large that there was no shortage of places to stay.
"How is it, not scared, right?"
With the matter settled, Qi Ze went to deal with the injured. Lin Yan pulled his wife, who had just gotten out of the car, into his arms and said softly.
"It's fine!"
Su Mojin smiled sweetly. She really wasn't that scared. Being by her husband's side, she felt completely safe!
"By the way, that thing Rens has, shouldn't we get it quickly!"
Su Mojin reminded Lin Yan, and also helped him straighten his collar, which had become a little messy from the seatbelt.
"Don't worry!"
Lin Yan patted her little head and looked to the side. Under the racetrack lights, Li Wei, holding a USB drive, came out of the office building.
"Young Master, this is what Rens gave you."
Lin Yan nodded, took the copied USB drive, and threw it into Su Mojin's pocket, telling her to transfer it to Lin Guoxiong when they got back.
"Tell Rens that it's very chaotic outside these days, so he shouldn't go out for now. He should stay put here. Also, strengthen the security around the racetrack."
"Yes!"
With everything arranged, Lin Yan took Su Mojin towards his manor. He hadn't slept all night and was very tired, needing a good sleep.
There were quite a few injured from the Lin family this time. Apart from a few who died from severe injuries, the rest were mostly seriously wounded. Fortunately, the racetrack had sufficient medical equipment, which should be enough to cope for one night. Tomorrow, Lin Yan would arrange for people to send complete equipment to the medical center in the office building. For those with severe injuries, the Lin family would also provide sufficient compensation.
Outside the Nian An International Racetrack, two minivans were parked not far from the entrance.
Kun Liu and his group were still a step too late. In fact, Kun Liu knew very well that even if they had arrived a little earlier, it would have been difficult to stop the Lin family young master.
Glancing at the vast racetrack before him, Kun Liu shook his head.
"Call the family head and tell him we failed."
"This... Sixth Brother..."
"Didn't you hear me? Make the call!"
"Yes!"
Victory and defeat are the way of the world. They had failed, and Kun Liu did not want this outcome, but since it had happened, they had to bear it.
The call was made to Song Yi. Song Yi had not slept yet at this hour; how could he sleep when it was a battle for the survival of the Song family?
The phone on the table rang. Song Yi calmed his emotions and picked up the phone.
"Boss... we..."
