Chapter 488 The Gold Ring, Teaching Su Mojin to Bend

Zhou Xianyong quickly rolled over. Upon learning that his wife had gone onto the racetrack herself, he was also terrified. He rushed over without even taking the time to tidy up his work.

"Speak, what exactly happened? I asked you to watch the racetrack, and this is how you watch it."

Lin Yan looked at Zhou Xianyong with scrutiny. He had hired this guy based on his talent, strength, and Sun Tianhe's plea. If the man proved incompetent and irresponsible, Lin Yan wouldn't hesitate to fire him.

"Young Master, this... it is indeed my dereliction of duty. I saw Yan Xiaoqiang and the others leave, so I went to learn about training plans from Venarath. I... I honestly wasn't paying much attention to the racetrack! I am also responsible for Madam's injury, and I am willing to accept punishment."

Glancing at Su Mojin beside him, Zhou Xianyong gritted his teeth. Although his work procedures were normal, he had indeed been absent. Moreover, his wife was injured, and he dared not claim he was blameless, fearing he might incur Lin Yan's displeasure.

"Is that so?"

Lin Yan's gaze turned to Li Wei beside him. Li Wei nodded, stating that when he found Zhou Xianyong, he was indeed discussing trainee training with Venarath.

Hearing Li Wei's confirmation, Lin Yan's anger subsided somewhat.

"Your salary will be deducted for a month. You may go."

Although Zhou Xianyong bore some responsibility for this incident, the primary cause was Su Mojin. The thought of this girl gave Lin Yan a headache. Perhaps it was because Su Mojin had always been obedient to him that her first act of defiance had displeased him.

After Zhou Xianyong left, the female physician helped Su Mojin out of the CT room. Lin Yan stepped forward to lend a hand.

"How is she?"

"According to the scans, there are no problems. It's just a superficial wound; no bones are broken."

Hearing that no bones were broken, Lin Yan breathed a sigh of relief.

"Alright, you may go."

Li Wei and the others left with the female physician. Lin Yan alone helped Su Mojin walk towards the villa on the mountain, remaining silent and with a terrifyingly grim expression.

"Husband, look, there's a magpie on that tree. Autumn is almost over, and I didn't expect to see a magpie. Don't they fly south?"

"Husband, look how big that tree is!"

"Husband, I know I was wrong. Can you please talk to me!"

As they walked through the jungle between the racetrack and the mountain villa, Su Mojin kept trying to find topics of conversation. However, Lin Yan ignored her completely. Desperate, Su Mojin simply wrapped her arms around Lin Yan's waist, preventing him from moving forward.

"Husband, I'm truly sorry. I promise I won't do it again! Can you please talk to me!"

After saying this, Su Mojin buried her head deeply in Lin Yan's embrace. She knew she had done wrong, but she was truly afraid Lin Yan would ignore her.

Looking at Su Mojin, who had her head down and dared not speak, Lin Yan let out a helpless sigh. In truth, he was no longer angry. He had ignored her precisely to make her learn her lesson. Some things were too dangerous and shouldn't be trifled with. A novice who had only been riding motorcycles for a few months, without a coach accompanying her, venturing onto the racetrack alone – such a thing was unthinkable even for him.

After a long pause, Lin Yan slowly spoke.

"Do you really want to learn?"

"No, I don't want to anymore. As long as you talk to me, I don't want anything else. I'll never sneak out to play again."

Su Mojin looked up and said urgently, her beautiful large eyes blinking, a layer of mist seemingly covering them. Without her usual gold-rimmed glasses, Su Mojin's delicate, doll-like face looked anxious, her gaze fixed on Lin Yan with eagerness.

"If you really want to learn, I can teach you. But you cannot go onto the racetrack by yourself anymore, understand?"

"Really? No, I don't want to learn anymore!"

Lin Yan tenderly stroked Su Mojin's small head, then crouched down to examine the wound on her knee. The injury had been bandaged, with a bow tied on it.

"After your injury heals, I will teach you personally. But you have to promise me one condition: until you are completely proficient, you are not allowed to ride without me present!"

Lin Yan knew Su Mojin well. From the moment she first started getting into racing, he knew she wanted to learn things like cornering and riding on the track. However, he had always worried about her safety and forbidden her from learning.

Now, he had a change of heart. Instead of going against her preferences for the sake of safety, it was better for him to teach her properly. If she mastered the techniques, the risk of falling would be minimized, which was also a way of protecting her.

"Actually, I just feel very happy to have the same hobby as you. Husband, if you really don't want me to learn, then I won't sneak onto the racetrack anymore. I swear!"

As Lin Yan stood up again, Su Mojin reached out, embraced his neck, and stood on tiptoe to meet his gaze. Their eyes met, and Lin Yan saw deep affection in Su Mojin's eyes.

Suddenly, Lin Yan felt a pang of guilt. He realized that this woman who had been with him for so long had never asked him for anything. Even though he was wealthy, she had never proactively asked him for anything. The only time she had made a request was to ask him to teach her, and he had refused.

Lin Yan covered Su Mojin's hand as she was about to swear, then scooped her up into his arms.

"This is your only chance. Go back and rest your injury quickly. Once you're healed, I'll teach you immediately."

"Then... can you not let my mom and them know right now!"

Su Mojin's hands circled Lin Yan's neck, her small face pressed against his chest as she looked at him pleadingly, her expression pathetic.

"You still know to be afraid! I thought you weren't afraid."

Lin Yan said somewhat exasperatedly, but he still steered them away from the villa where the Su family resided.

Sensing the change in direction, Su Mojin giggled and snuggled deeper into Lin Yan's embrace. Her husband wasn't angry anymore, and he was going to teach her to ride. Yay!

"If you get any more smug, I'll go back on my word..."

The sudden remark startled Su Mojin, who quickly retracted her waving hands and transformed into a well-behaved child.

Arriving at the door of his own villa, Lin Yan used his foot to hook it open and carried Su Mojin upstairs.

"Actually, husband, I can walk by myself."

"Shut up!"

It was true that no bones were broken, but her knee was badly injured. He didn't feel comfortable letting her walk on her own, and besides, it would be good exercise.

He carried Su Mojin to the bed on the second floor, then bent down to take off her small white shoes, revealing her delicate, fair feet. He then pulled the quilt over Su Mojin. After all this, Lin Yan sat on the edge of the bed.

"Husband, why haven't you changed this ring yet!"

Shrinking into the quilt, Su Mojin held Lin Yan's hand. Her fingers brushed against a metal object on his finger, the gold ring she had bought him earlier, the one with no patterns and that looked a bit ugly.
