Su Mojin's appearance had matured considerably over the past year, and Lin Yan's initial guilt about their age difference had long since vanished.
"They'd be happier if we couldn't help," she said.
From his observations, his mother had a peculiar obsession with cooking. However, because Lin Guoxiong was usually busy and not home, she rarely cooked herself. Now that he had free time, he figured he should let her indulge.
"Oh, then let's go practice driving," Su Mojin suggested.
Seemingly recalling how she'd been kicked out of the kitchen last time, Su Mojin decided against it and instead proposed they go practice driving.
Practicing driving, of course, wasn't done outdoors. The snow was still falling relentlessly, and the entire track was covered in accumulated snow. Outdoor practice was out of the question.
Quietly tiptoeing through the room where the two children and Lin Guoxiong were sleeping, Lin Yan led Su Mojin to the second-floor gym. Here, there were two racing simulators that Lin Yan used for his own training.
Su Mojin had been wearing pajamas at home, but now in the gym, they both changed into racing suits, which would make things easier during intense driving.
With the racing suits on, Su Mojin's excellent figure was fully displayed – perfectly proportioned. Lin Yan's eyes widened as he looked at her.
"Husband, can you grant me one wish for the New Year?"
Mounting the simulator, Su Mojin leaned mysteriously towards Lin Yan.
"What is it?" Lin Yan asked, confused.
"I want to ride a factory bike!"
Su Mojin had learned a great deal about cornering, lines, and other techniques in recent months. However, she had only ever raced 250cc bikes on the track. She had used 1000cc bikes on the simulator, but had never tried a factory bike. Today, she wanted to experience it on the simulator.
"Alright, but you need to be careful later," Lin Yan agreed. It was just a simulator, after all, with no real risk.
He helped her confirm the settings and gave her some instructions. The throttle response and power of a factory bike were far beyond those of a production liter-bike. The throttle and brakes were designed to be as sensitive as possible; otherwise, crashing was common.
Hearing that she could ride a factory bike, Su Mojin felt an inexplicable excitement.
Lin Yan chose a factory bike from the Yamaha team for Su Mojin, the YZR-
This was why factory bikes could outperform all production bikes. Factory bikes could achieve the same rapid acceleration regardless of the corner or exit speed.
0 to 100 kph in just over two seconds.
100 to 200 kph in just over three seconds.
200 to 300 kph in just over three seconds.
This consistent acceleration was terrifying.
Even with modifications, production bikes could never achieve such consistently close acceleration in all three stages.
Choosing a track in country A, Su Mojin, in first gear, followed Lin Yan. One hundred and eighty kph was already the limit of her control. She could go faster, but she couldn't handle it.
Braking and entering the corner, Su Mojin's misunderstanding of the factory bike's braking performance became apparent as she braked too early. The carbon-ceramic brakes of the factory bike could decelerate the bike in a very short time, nearly twice as fast as the production bikes Su Mojin was used to. The sudden, immense braking force made her hand numb, and her arms tensed instantly.
"Whoa, the braking force is so strong!"
This simulator could achieve almost perfect realism, even simulating the braking force accurately. Su Mojin felt like she could barely hold on.
"Brake a little gentler. Your arm strength can't handle such heavy braking yet," Lin Yan advised.
Su Mojin nodded. In the subsequent corners, she was more cautious. Her corner entry involved a body position with an angle of only forty degrees, clearly holding back.
Entering the corner wasn't a problem for Su Mojin; in fact, she found it more stable than her 250cc bike. This was quite normal. Since Su Mojin didn't brake into the corner and didn't accelerate in the middle of it, without external forces, and relying on the bike's own idle speed for cornering, her stability in the corner was indeed much better, thanks to the factory bike's aerodynamic kit, as long as her movements were precise.
"Ease off the throttle slowly on exit," Lin Yan advised as he glanced over and saw Su Mojin exiting the corner. However, his reminder seemed a bit late.
"Ah! Ouch, that hurts."
Just as Su Mojin was about to exit the corner, the rear wheel lost traction, and the simulator threw her to the ground. Simulators couldn't replicate wind resistance, nor could they perfectly simulate crashes. When a crash occurred, the system would simply lay the bike down; it wouldn't eject the rider. There was some sensation of pain, but no actual injury.
Righting the bike, Su Mojin restarted the engine and set off again. Starting was simple, just a one-button ignition. In reality, it would have been more difficult, requiring a running start.
"You accelerated too early just now, and you gave it too much throttle."
The point at which to apply throttle on exit for a factory bike had to be later. If you accelerated too early, the chances of the rear wheel slipping were very high.
