Chapter 291: Chapter 303: My girl didn’t bully you, right?
Back home, Han Xi took a shower in the bathroom and upon coming out, she saw a nude pink dress laid out on the bed.
"Is this bought for me?"
Han Xi walked barefoot to the bed, a sweet smile graced her clean and simple face.
Lu Jinghan nodded with a smile, "Try it on."
Han Xi picked up the dress and changed into it, an irregular hem nude pink tulle dress with a V-neck style made of thin tulle, elegant and simple. 3D red floral designs echoed by a red slim belt, paired with silver high heels, making her look both elegant and gentle.
A faint dimple graced Han Xi’s subtly made-up face, "Does it look nice?"
Lu Jinghan walked over and hugged Han Xi from behind, "My Mrs. Lu looks beautiful."
Han Xi’s small hand covered Lu Jinghan’s hand which encircled her waist, "Quickly go change clothes, or Grandpa will be anxious waiting."
Lu Jinghan gave a light kiss on Han Xi’s cheek and then went to change.
By the time the two left the house, the sky was slightly dark. Twenty minutes later, the car stopped at Lu Family’s old house. Lu Jinghan got out of the car, circled around the front to open the passenger door, helped Han Xi with her coat, and then held her hand as they walked inside.
Many guests had already arrived in the hall of the old house, where Old Sir Lu was joyfully greeting the guests.
"Sir, the young master and the madam have arrived," Housekeeper Li spotted Lu Jinghan and Han Xi immediately.
Han Xi went to Old Sir Lu with a gentle smile and sweetly called, "Grandpa."
Old Sir Lu cheerfully introduced Han Xi to his old friends, "This is my granddaughter-in-law. Back when that rascal had a car accident and almost lost his life, it was thanks to my precious granddaughter-in-law who saved him."
"Your granddaughter-in-law is really capable and also beautiful."
"You old guys can just envy me. Both my grandson and granddaughter-in-law look so good; my great-grandson will surely be outstanding."
Han Xi greeted the elders with a smile, turning red as she was praised teased by them.
The hall was well-heated, Lu Jinghan helped Han Xi remove her coat and handed it to the servant, "Grandpa, you all continue chatting, Xiao Xi and I will go greet the guests."
"Alright, go ahead."
Han Xi hadn’t walked far holding onto Lu Jinghan’s arm before a gentleman came over and stopped them, "President Lu, I’ve scheduled several meetings with your assistant these past few days and was told you were busy. Finally, I get to see you."
Lu Jinghan leisurely took a sip of his red wine, "Today is my grandpa’s birthday banquet, no business talk."
"Yes, yes, no business talk."
The people around chimed in with laughter, daring not to bring up business once Lu Jinghan declared it off-limits.
After some polite exchanges, Lu Jinghan took Han Xi away, "Are you hungry? Want some dessert first?"
Truth be told, Han Xi was feeling a bit hungry, "Sure."
Lu Jinghan grabbed a few desserts and placed them onto a plate, holding Han Xi’s hand as they sat on a couch in the corner, "Today’s desserts are all your favorites."
Han Xi scooped a spoonful of blueberry-flavored mousse into her mouth, "You had Housekeeper Li prepare these, didn’t you?"
"Mm, worried you’d be hungry with the late start of the banquet, so I asked Housekeeper Li to prepare some desserts you love."
Han Xi scooped another spoonful of mousse and brought it to Lu Jinghan’s mouth, "Try it, it’s delicious."
"Haha, been looking everywhere for you two, turns out you’re hiding here showing off your love."
Li Manman, holding Feng Yi’s arm, teased them brightly.
Just as Han Xi blushed and was about to retract her hand, Lu Jinghan held it, leaned forward, and ate the mousse off the spoon, "Really sweet."
Li Manman pulled Feng Yi to sit on the sofa, joking sourly, "Could you two ease up on the public affection? I still need room for dinner."
Han Xi tucked her long hair behind her ear awkwardly, changing the subject, "By the way, Manman, have your parents arrived?"
"They just called saying they’re on their way."
Speak of the devil—that very moment, Li Shitian and Xu Lan exchanged greetings with Old Sir Lu and headed towards their daughter.
Feng Yi stood up from the sofa and politely greeted them, "Hello Uncle and Aunt."
Li Shitian chuckled and patted Feng Yi’s shoulder, "My girl hasn’t bullied you, right?"
