Chapter 27 Is This Too Much!

When Xie Jiang entered Madam Xu's bedroom, his face was still dark.

Madam Xu the Second pulled her son aside to stay in the outer room and asked in a low voice, "What's going on? Did you get upset at Prince Yu's heir?"

"No."

Xu Hengyi stretched his shoulders. That kick was too hard. He had never been beaten like this before.

"Then what exactly happened? I thought Young Master Xie seemed a bit unhappy."

"He asked me to massage his shoulders, and I accidentally used too much force..." Xu Hengyi said, feeling a bit dejected. When had he ever served anyone like this, only to end up with nothing good?

And yet, he wasn't even angry!

Looking at Xie Jiang's face, how could anyone get angry!

How could someone look like that!

It was too unfair.

Madam Xu the Second was dumbfounded. He was actually ordering her son around. But it didn't seem like a big deal. "Young Master Xie was probably very tired and wanted you to help him relax."

Xu Hengyi looked at his mother and decided to tell her the rest. "Young Master Xie got angry and kicked me. I almost fell out of the carriage, and my arm still hurts."

Wasn't that excessive!

Quickly tell him to break off his friendship with Xie Jiang!

"What?!" Madam Xu the Second was indeed alarmed. She grabbed Xu Hengyi and retreated to a corner, preparing to unbutton his collar to check his shoulder for injuries.

Xu Hengyi naturally refused, dodging Madam Xu the Second's hand. "It didn't injure the bone, just bruised. My second brother is still here, what would it look like if we were pulling at each other?"

Madam Xu the Second impatiently patted his shoulder. Xu Hengyi hissed in pain but only earned a glare.

"If you hadn't been so rough, why would he have kicked you! You're so old, yet you're still so clumsy when you do things..."

Xu Hengyi was utterly dumbfounded.

He knew it. He, a man, couldn't resist such beauty, and women, especially older mothers, would be even less able to resist.

Fortunately, Xie Jiang had an unapproachable demeanor that made people dare not get too close, otherwise his mother might have switched sons.

Xu Hengyi decided to distance himself from his mother and sat down next to Xu Hengyan.

Xu Hengyan looked up at him. "Are you going out again later?"

He had tasted a few pieces of dried sweet potato yesterday, and the taste and texture were unexpectedly good. He felt it was necessary to understand more.

Xu Hengyi hummed and nodded. "We encountered some trouble at Yuxu Palace yesterday and saved a patient of my elder brother's. We'll probably have to go there for the next couple of days."

"A patient of Hengdan's? What happened?" Madam Xu the Second asked curiously.

Xu Hengyi chattered on, recounting the story of Wu Hongyun's family.

Madam Xu the Second sighed, "You've saved two lives."

Xu Hengyi said with some pride, "Isn't that right? When you encounter such a situation, how can you stand by and do nothing?"

Madam Xu the Second said, "It's all thanks to that little poison doctor Xie, otherwise, with just you, you wouldn't have been able to save them even if you wanted to."

Xu Hengyi: "..."

If he hadn't begged and begged, with Xie Jiang's arrogant attitude, he wouldn't have even glanced at the pitiful Wu Hongyun, let alone offered any help. He was still somewhat useful.

Xu Hengyi felt it was inappropriate to discuss anything about Xie Jiang with his mother.

So, he picked up his teacup and turned to Xu Hengyan.

"Second Brother still wants to ask about Young Master Xie's dried sweet potatoes? The dried sweet potatoes taste good, but they can't be eaten as a meal, can they?" His second brother's concern for their itinerary could only be for this matter; there was nothing else worth his second brother's attention.

"What I want to understand is the sweet potato."

Snacks and pastries were naturally not worth his concern, but a new type of crop that had never been discovered before held infinite possibilities.

Xu Hengyan did not want to discuss such matters with Xu Hengyi.
