The night was deep.
The sky grew darker.
Outside the inn, a group of people suddenly arrived.
Just as Feng Wuya, with a sword strike imbued with sword energy, fatally pierced two men in black, the sound of hooves approached from afar.
Long Xinghe and Jiang Tao exchanged glances, a deeper darkness appearing in their eyes.
The number of men in black was no longer something they could handle. With another group arriving now, they truly might not escape tonight.
Long Xinghe stepped forward and grabbed Feng Wuya by the waist.
"Don't think I'll let you go!" This time, Feng Wuya anticipated it, his large palm falling to hold her hand.
"If we go, we go together. If you don't go, then we'll fight to the death here together."
"Wu Ya..." Long Xinghe felt the warmth of his palm. Although she knew his feelings for her were merely those of a comrade, at this moment, meeting his firm and warm gaze, her heart couldn't help but stir. Even if he thought of someone else, at least at this moment, he was fighting alongside her.
"Alright, then we..." But Long Xinghe's words ended there.
Completely caught off guard, Feng Wuya felt a sudden weight at his waist. His acupoint had been sealed!
"I just learned it. You'll break it yourself soon, but for now, listen to me!"
Long Xinghe pushed him forcefully: "Tie Xin!"
Tie Xin was prepared. Young Miss Long had already given him a meaningful glance earlier. Catching the acupoint-sealed Feng Wuya in mid-air, he spun around and immediately landed on horseback.
"Master, I'll assist you!" Jiang Tao leaped up, his saber flashing as he cut down two men.
Long Xinghe said nothing. Jiang Tao had been by her side for so long that they had developed a tacit understanding in battle. They landed together in front of Tie Xin's horse, clearing a path for them.
Tie Xin struck the horse's hindquarters with his palm. The horse let out a roar, and amidst the bloody path carved out by Long Xinghe's saber and Jiang Tao's sword, it charged forward.
The moment Feng Wuya looked back, he only saw Long Xinghe's slender figure completely engulfed by the men in black. His large palm clenched tightly. In that final glance, a long sword of the men in black grazed Long Xinghe's arm. The sight of the crimson blood stimulated his entire being. But his acupoint could not be broken!
Tie Xin dared not look back, nor could he bear to. For now, he could only protect the Prince and leave. As for other matters... he was powerless to change anything.
The horse strained with all its might, galloping forward without any pause. Feng Wuya was still using his internal energy to try and break through the sealed acupoint, but he clearly felt his strength waning. It was Tie Xin! Before he could break the seal, Tie Xin had sealed several more major acupoints on his body. His internal energy could no longer gather, and the acupoint was completely unbreachable. Finally, the strike Tie Xin delivered to his neck made everything in Feng Wuya's vision blur completely.
"Your Highness, I apologize. You cannot fail Miss Long's intentions. You cannot... let her sacrifice in vain..." This was the last sentence Feng Wuya heard before he lost consciousness.
The journey was bumpy. His body felt light, as if he were treading on clouds. Below, a group of people were fighting. The woman fighting valiantly suddenly looked up and smiled at him. It was her! Her body and face were covered in blood, cold blood, yet her smile was so clear. He wanted to go down and help her, but he couldn't. His body was too light, constantly floating in the clouds, with no way to descend. He could only watch as the blood on her body flowed more and more, and the swords and blades falling upon her became more frequent. Finally, a sharp sword, carrying a chilling glint, pierced her body. She finally fell, collapsing into a pool of blood. Countless swords and blades fell upon her, stabbing her until she was a bloody mess. Only her smile remained, forever etched in his heart...
