Hu Die Lan
Chapter 846 Wasting Scrolls?
"What was that?" Inside the Yingqi warehouse, the Eagle Union players without PK values who hadn't left yet suddenly heard a loud crash against the building wall. Plaster began to fall, and they exchanged nervous glances.
"Could Qian Li Zui have broken through our wall?" someone speculated.
"Impossible!" Yongyuan, ever the pragmatist, went to where the sound came from and pressed his ear to the wall.
"Damn your ancestors!!!!!" Yongyuan was stunned to hear such a curse. Enraged at being inexplicably insulted, he kicked the wall. "Who is it!!!"
Many people gathered around, listening. Finally, someone recognized the voice. "It sounds like Shiba's voice."
Shiba Mo was hanging upside down on the wall, having just hurled himself against it. It was normal for his voice to be distorted. Yongyuan hadn't recognized it at first.
"What's going on?" The group was puzzled but stopped hiding and rushed out to investigate. Looking up, they saw Shiba Mo hanging upside down, one leg tied, near the center of the building. He looked alone and helpless, but surprisingly energetic, yelling and cursing like he was singing a mountain song.
Gu Fei was peering over the edge. Seeing the Eagle Union members on the street, he waved and asked, "Which city is this? Anyone know?"
The crowd ignored him. Yongyuan shouted at Shiba Mo, "Idiot, teleport!"
Shiba Mo might have been dazed from the impact and hadn't thought of it. His hands weren't tied, so he fumbled in his pocket for a scroll. As soon as he unfurled it, a bolt of lightning struck him. If Shiba Mo could have dodged such a fast attack, he wouldn't have ended up in such a predicament.
Interrupting Shiba Mo's teleport, Gu Fei smiled at Yongyuan on the street and said, "Don't shout so loud!"
Yongyuan clenched his fists in anger, forced to find solace in the fact that even if Shiba Mo died, it would only mean jail time.
Teleport scrolls were skill scrolls, and like skills, had cooldowns. Being interrupted meant he couldn't use it during the cooldown period. But scrolls had an advantage: each scroll had its own cooldown. If one was interrupted, he could use another. Shiba Mo had more than one teleport scroll in his pocket and immediately pulled out another, thinking Gu Fei's Thunderbolt couldn't be ready yet, and his other spells were too slow to interrupt him.
Shiba Mo was feeling pretty good about his chances. As he unfurled the scroll, something suddenly smacked him on the head, instantly triggering the cooldown. The object bounced off and fell to the side, but Shiba Mo didn't even see what it was. Looking up, he saw Gu Fei casually throwing bricks from the rooftop. Shiba Mo was in immense pain, and the Eagle Union players on the street were righteously indignant, claiming that PK was one thing, but Gu Fei's actions were inhumane, unjust, and deserving of divine retribution.
Gu Fei threw another brick while explaining helplessly, "I can't help it. My spells are too slow! Throwing things is faster. I promise, I'll use Thunderbolt when it's ready, okay?"
Everyone was spitting blood. Shiba Mo, hanging upside down for so long, his face red, screamed, "Just kill me already!"
"A hero!" Gu Fei praised him, nodding. "The skill is ready." Then, another Thunderbolt flashed.
Shiba Mo still wasn't dead after the lightning strike, and Gu Fei was shocked. "Still not dead? You really are a pro. How can you last so long?"
The Eagle Union members were frantically shouting suggestions, some telling Shiba Mo to bend over and cut the rope himself, which made Shiba Mo curse in the channel, "You try bending over!"
Clearly, that was a tall order. Shiba Mo was just a regular person, lacking the flexibility and core strength. Yongyuan, as the leader of the Eagle Union, came up with a solution: have someone shoot the rope! Looking around, they had only two archers in groups one and two: Yi Fengzheng and Liu Lan. But both of them had PK values and had teleported away to wash them off. However, everyone had several teleport scrolls, especially since they were fighting for the boss this time and had received extra, including scrolls with coordinates to this location. Yongyuan sent a message, and Yi Fengzheng immediately returned and emerged from the building. Seeing the situation, he immediately notched an arrow and aimed.
"Shiba, hold still!" Yi Fengzheng shouted. Shooting a rope was described as an extraordinary feat of archery, but the game had a system for assistance. Yi Fengzheng was a long-time archer, and hitting a stationary target, even a rope, was no problem, especially at this distance.
Yi Fengzheng struck a dashing pose, drawing his bow like a full moon, with a savior-like expression. Gu Fei's Thunderbolt was ready again and struck Shiba Mo again, but he still didn't die. Gu Fei, who usually didn't care about game stats, couldn't help but ask, "How did you allocate your stats?"
Shiba Mo gritted his teeth and didn't answer. Gu Fei noticed Yi Fengzheng's actions below and guessed his intention, so he grabbed the rope and tried to shake it. Shiba Mo resisted, desperately trying to create friction against the wall with his hands and feet to stabilize himself. The rope was taut. Gu Fei tried, but couldn't shake it much. Yi Fengzheng's arrow flew, swift and powerful, using the skill Snipe.
The arrow accurately pierced the rope. Shiba Mo felt a sudden release, a weight lifted, and prepared to fall, when a jolt of electricity coursed through him. Shiba Mo tilted his head and joined the Eagle Union players on the street in cursing, "F*ck!!"
Qian Li Zui was too despicable. Just as Shiba Mo was about to fall, he used a Wall of Lightning to catch him in mid-air.
Curses erupted again, but Gu Fei remained unfazed. Yi Fengzheng angrily shot an arrow at him, but Gu Fei casually slapped it away.
"You should be dead now, right?" Gu Fei asked Shiba Mo.
"Dream on!!" Shiba Mo was truly an unkillable cockroach.
The Eagle Union members below were frantic. They had priests, but Shiba Mo was out of range from any usable angle. Where they could reach him, there was no line of sight.
"Qian Li Zui, give him a quick death. What is this?" Yongyuan said in a deep voice.
"Okay, okay, last two times." Gu Fei raised his hand and cast another Thunderbolt.
The cockroach Shiba Mo still didn't die, but after hearing Gu Fei say "two times," he looked horrified and cried out, "How did you know?"
Gu Fei smiled. "Appraisal!"
"Impossible!" Shiba Mo denied it outright, knowing his HP regeneration equipment was high-level and couldn't be appraised at the current skill level.
Hearing their exchange, Yongyuan suddenly realized, "100% Appraisal!!"
"What?" The others were confused.
"His Chasing Wind Badge has a function that allows 100% appraisal of wanted targets." Yongyuan had seen the badge's functions when he appraised it, but he focused on the last one, the random teleport, thinking the others were insignificant.
"Shiba, what's the situation?" Yongyuan asked privately in the channel.
"This guy, he's calculating my health and regeneration perfectly. This electric wall has continuous damage that cancels out some of my HP regen. And he just said he's going to use Thunderbolt two more times, which is just enough..." Shiba Mo said.
"It's okay, he'll go to jail if he kills you," Yongyuan reassured.
"No... If I'm not mistaken, he'll save the last Thunderbolt for the end. After that, I'll only have a sliver of health left, and then I'll fall and probably die..." Shiba Mo said.
Yongyuan was stunned. Dying from a fall wasn't considered PK. The Eagle Union sometimes created such cheap deaths under special circumstances, so they knew the system's judgment in this regard. He never expected their opponent to play the same trick.
The others in the channel were equally helpless. Qian Li Zui's Thunderbolt cooldown was long over, but he wasn't in a hurry to use it, smiling as he stood on the rooftop. Yi Fengzheng fired arrows like a madman, but to no effect. Everyone else, archers or not, tried to make ranged attacks, but it was all useless.
As the Wall of Lightning dissipated, a Thunderbolt struck Shiba Mo's head, just as he predicted. Shiba Mo looked at his health, finding only a sliver left. Half a building's height below, the fall damage was guaranteed.
Shiba Mo glared at Qian Li Zui and fell straight down. A loud crash echoed from the rooftop, dust and a white light erupting. Gu Fei checked his quest and saw that Shiba Mo was still listed, meaning his death wasn't counted, and he would suffer the level-drop penalty.
Gu Fei turned to face the street, meeting the Eagle Union's angry stares, and asked, "Who's next?"
Some Eagle Union members wanted to charge up, but Yongyuan stopped them, staring coldly at Gu Fei on the rooftop. "Qian Li Zui, this isn't over."
"I know," Gu Fei said. "But you should all hurry. Prolonged gaming is bad for your health."
"Go f*ck yourself!" Yongyuan lost his composure. Loyal online gamers hated that kind of sermon.
"You can't deny it! Look at you all, top-heavy, unsteady on your feet. You need to exercise!" Gu Fei said.
Under Yongyuan's lead, the Eagle Union members all gave Gu Fei the middle finger, turned, and prepared to leave. But to their surprise, Gu Fei flipped over the edge and jumped off the building. They thought he was committing suicide, but as he neared the ground, he used Instant Movement and landed flawlessly.
Landing close to the crowd, Gu Fei said calmly, "Where are you going? You guys don't have PK values. I'm still here. You think you can leave?"
Yongyuan's heart raced. Looking around, including the temporarily returned Yi Fengzheng, there were only seven of them. Of the six without PK values, besides Yongyuan, there was a heavy armor warrior, Bu Dang, two priests, a paladin, and a berserker.
Against a normal opponent, Yongyuan wouldn't be afraid with seven people, but against Qian Li Zui, he immediately felt the weakness of their formation. The two priests and the paladin were purely support. Bu Dang was usually the one getting hit, not hitting others. Yongyuan, as a dark knight who had transcended curses, was completely immersed in darkness according to the game's setting. He couldn't accept the support of light priests, and the paladin's Holy Heal was not a healing spell but a damaging one to him. Without any support, Yongyuan would think of his sliver of HP from earlier when fighting Qian Li Zui… That left only Yi Fengzheng and the berserker, Ming Yue.
Ming Yue was ranked twenty-seventh on the warrior leaderboard, the only member of the Eagle Union ranked outside the top twenty. While this didn't necessarily mean he was the weakest in the Eagle Union, Yongyuan wasn't confident in relying on him to stop Qian Li Zui.
"I'll hold him back. You guys go!" Yi Fengzheng didn't disappoint Yongyuan and bravely stepped forward. Yongyuan immediately cast an Agility Curse on Gu Fei. Seeing him raise his hand, Gu Fei immediately dodged, baffling everyone. He actually tried to dodge a curse? Was he out of his mind? Yongyuan was briefly nervous, thinking this freak could dodge curse skills that should only be resisted by stats, but then saw that Gu Fei was hit, and he breathed a sigh of relief. Gu Fei also realized that the skill was like the priest's heal, impossible to dodge with physical evasion. Otherwise, Gu Fei wouldn't have been so afraid of Luo Luo's heals back then.
Yi Fengzheng fired two quick arrows. Even with the Agility Curse, Gu Fei had no problem dodging them. He stood his ground, accurately judging the arrows' paths, slightly leaning left and right to avoid them. The four, from Bu Dang to the two priests and the paladin, were all slow. Even cursed, Gu Fei was faster than them, and he immediately charged towards them.
Bu Dang used his specialty of taking hits, raising his shield to meet him. Gu Fei was also experienced in combat, knowing it would be difficult to burst down a heavy armor warrior with his skills. With the support of two priests and a paladin, he wouldn't be able to kill him easily. So, he chose to avoid Bu Dang and chase Yongyuan. But Yongyuan knew he couldn't get support and wouldn't fight Gu Fei head-on, so he turned and ran.
Gu Fei knew he couldn't outrun Yongyuan with the curse, so his pursuit was a feint. He changed his target midway, firing an arrow at the paladin. The paladin, named Ye Xifeng, was ranked ninth on the knight leaderboard, not low, but relatively conventional in the Eagle Union, lacking special skills. However, his proficiency with each buff skill was high. He had already cast Mental Blessing on everyone, which increased magic defense. With the strong support of the two light priests, he wasn't afraid of Qian Li Zui and raised his sword to meet him.
Gu Fei swung his sword down, easily avoiding Ye Xifeng's parry. No one dared to underestimate Qian Li Zui's attacks. Heals and Holy Heals were cast, but no one expected Gu Fei to change direction at this moment. After a diagonal step, his sword struck the charging berserker, Ming Yue.
Yi Fengzheng was anxious. Relying on his PK value to avoid level drops, he selflessly wanted to cover everyone. But Qian Li Zui dodged his attacks so easily, as if he didn't exist. Watching the sword about to hit Ming Yue, Yi Fengzheng's arrows were still useless.
The sword struck true, and Dual Flame Slash was cast the moment it hit. As for turning around to use Dual Flame Slash, Gu Fei didn't bother. With the Agility Curse, he couldn't rely on his footwork for that skill.
The two priests and the paladin rushed to save Ming Yue, but their heal skills had just been cast on Ye Xifeng and were on cooldown.
Treacherous!!! Only now did everyone realize the purpose of Qian Li Zui's feigned attacks, and they couldn't help but despise him. Gu Fei struck Ming Yue with a Palm of Thunder, sending him flying. Gu Fei followed like an arrow in the same direction. Seeing this, Ming Yue had been knocked out of their healing range. They rushed forward to close the distance, but how could they be faster than Gu Fei? As he chased Ming Yue, a Thunderbolt landed on Ming Yue's head.
Yongyuan couldn't avoid it any longer and charged out to block Gu Fei. Yun Zhong Mu, cursed with Agility Curse, was completely outmatched in a one-on-one with Yongyuan, but Gu Fei's skill was far beyond Yun Zhong Mu's level. Yongyuan was hit by several swords as soon as he charged, the damage not high but terrifying. However, his block bought them time. The three entered healing range, and their skills came off cooldown, immediately casting heals on Ming Yue.
Yongyuan breathed a sigh of relief and wanted to retreat. His retreat was shameless. Gu Fei's Dual Flame Slash was about to hit, but he knew the skill wouldn't kill him, so he simply ignored it, turned, and ran, letting the sword hit his back. Gu Fei was helpless. If the opponent knew the sword wasn't lethal, they would naturally make such a shameless move, leaving him helpless.
The warehouse door opened, and Eagle Union players poured out. Yongyuan had already sent a message, saying Qian Li Zui was on the street, and they should surround and kill him. As for covering and retreating, it was all an act. Yongyuan had seen through it long ago. Qian Li Zui was avoiding a head-on confrontation with their team. Yongyuan, with his keen eye, saw the root of the problem: Qian Li Zui's powerful skills couldn't instantly kill the heavily geared high-end players of the Eagle Union, a fatal flaw.
"Qian Li Zui, where do you think you're going?" Yi Fengzheng was full of energy.
"What did you say?" Gu Fei glanced at Yi Fengzheng, pointed at the rooftop, and used Instant Movement to get back up there.
"Damn!!" The Eagle Union shouted in unison. Yi Fengzheng was devastated. "What's the point of you doing this?"
"Waste your scrolls?" Gu Fei asked.
