Chapter 2 Strange World

That rooster-headed man stepped on the chair binding Su Lun with one foot, his eyes flashing fiercely as he yelled, "Hey, kid, my patience is limited..."

The two were very close, and this guy didn't seem to consider the injured prey a threat at all, completely unguarded.

Su Lun was bound to the chair, his palms nailed with daggers, seemingly unable to move.

But others didn't notice that because of the previous painful struggle, the rope binding Su Lun's arms had loosened, leaving enough space for him to pull his hand out.

"Kid, are you gonna talk or what?"

The rooster-headed man slapped Su Lun hard across the face.

With a "smack," blood flowed from the corner of Su Lun's mouth.

But after being hit, there wasn't the slightest anger on his face, but rather a strange, cruel smile in the corner of his eyes.

In his eyes, the demon that had been suppressed in his heart for a long time was finally breaking free.

"Heh heh..."

He sneered inwardly.

And at this moment, without any hesitation, Su Lun's right hand suddenly jerked back.

The dagger nailed in his right hand happened to pierce the palm bone gap between his middle and ring fingers. This pull produced a chilling "tearing" sound as soft tissue tore.

The sharp dagger directly cut through the flesh between the palm bones, and a spurt of blood shot out.

"???"

This action stunned the rooster-headed man beside him.

The guy looked at the blood spurting onto his trousers, his eyes widening instantly, seemingly still in shock and not yet recovered.

But his eyes realized what had happened: this kid actually forcibly tore his hand to get rid of the dagger!

In the next moment, the rooster-headed man immediately realized the danger, exclaiming inwardly, "Not good!"

But it was too late.

The grinning Su Lun didn't care about the stinging pain in his hand. Once his hand was free, he wouldn't give the enemy any chance to react.

He reached out with his freed hand and snatched the silver revolver from the rooster-headed man's hip holster with lightning speed, then unhesitatingly aimed it at the guy's chest and pulled the trigger.

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

Two consecutive thunderous gunshots echoed throughout the room.

The bullets pierced through the rooster-head's chest, then "popped" out two fist-sized bloody holes in his back, killing him instantly.

.......

The warm blood splattered on Su Lun's face, adding a bit of ferocity.

The power of the silver revolver was somewhat unexpected. Su Lun was also knocked backward along with the chair due to the enormous recoil.

Hearing the gunshots, the smoky-eyed, bald, burly man opposite was also stunned for a moment by this sudden change.

That kid who had been casually manipulated actually had such a ferocious side?

Looking at the two bloody holes pierced through his companion's back, the bald man realized that the prey trapped in the hunter's trap had suddenly turned into a bloodthirsty wolf.

"Damn it!"

The bald man shouted inwardly, reacting quickly.

Seeing Su Lun's gun pointing at him again, he instinctively raised the steam-powered mechanical arm on his right arm, aiming the muzzle forward and pulling the trigger.

With a deafening roar, the entire study shook.

The muzzle didn't spew out the flames of burning gunpowder, but rather a "high-pressure air blast."

And Su Lun, who was falling backward not far away, seemed to have foreseen this attack, cleverly using the force to twist his body as he fell, narrowly avoiding the fatal aim of the blast.

The sound of the wind whistling past in an instant, the high-pressure air blast pierced through a corner of Su Lun's chair at high speed, then "cracked" through the ground, leaving a bowl-sized black hole in the wooden floor before disappearing.

Even though he had avoided the direct hit, the airflow from the "high-pressure air blast" still brushed past his body, and as it shattered the chair leg, the air blast, along with the ropes and a piece of flesh on Su Lun's leg, was also ground into powder.

It felt like countless sharp wind blades had passed over him, and the wound burned and stung fiercely.

However, Su Lun didn't show any pain on his face, but rather a kind of bloodthirsty excitement.

The moment the chair hit the ground, he moved again.

......

From the time Su Lun woke up to the time he decided to attack, it was only half a minute. Although it seemed hasty, he had actually considered it very carefully.

Before attacking, he had already predicted the current cannon fire.

The bald man's unconscious small movements with his mechanical arm allowed Su Lun to discover that the crude bearings and gear-driven steam mechanical arm joints were not very flexible. The aiming reaction time would most likely be much slower than a human's nerve response.

Moreover, Su Lun could predict that after he killed the rooster-head, under the threat of the gun, the bald, burly man would definitely counterattack immediately. Then the direction the muzzle was aiming would definitely be the original position of the chair. Having predicted this, the chances of dodging it were not small.

And if the bald man spent too much time aiming accurately, then that time would be enough for Su Lun to fire another shot.

Who lived and who died was a fifty-fifty chance.

So, it was risky, but worth the gamble.

This was the only chance to escape.

This was also the most important reason why Su Lun had decided to violently attack and kill, even at the cost of crippling his hand!

.......

Thoughts flashed through his mind, but reality was only an instant.

As Su Lun had expected, the bald man fired in haste and missed.

The jet of air pierced through the floor, and the expected explosion of the cannonball did not occur.

Su Lun's eyes narrowed, and a dangerous glint flashed past.

Now!

He instantly adjusted his curled-up defensive posture, and in the instant he fell, he raised the silver revolver again, resolutely raising his hand and pulling the trigger again at the bald, burly man.

"Bang!"

A familiar gunshot rang out, as if space had solidified.

The bullet shot out, leaving a long trail in the air, then accurately shot towards the bald man's eye.

The faint blue light spewing from the muzzle illuminated a terrified face. The bald man didn't have time to do anything at all. The bullet had already shot towards his right eye socket.

"Success!"

Su Lun licked his lips, seemingly very satisfied with this shot.

Unlike the previous close-range kill of the rooster-head, where he had the opportunity to fire two shots in a row, after this shot, the enormous recoil caused the muzzle to rise sharply. Even if he fired another shot, it would be impossible to hit the bald man's head again.

Moreover, the wound on his hand was also torn by the recoil of the shot, and the pain made his flexor digitorum muscle tremble, almost unable to hold the pistol.

However, it was enough.

Su Lun was certain that this shot would hit one hundred percent, enough to blow the guy's head off.

But...

Su Lun never expected that it was precisely this sure-fire shot that would have an accident.

......

"How is that possible!"

Su Lun's pupils shrank sharply, looking at the scene in front of him in disbelief.

The bullet was aimed at the bald, burly man's eye socket. The guy's crisis response wasn't weak either. At the moment the muzzle flashed, he instinctively tried his best to dodge.

With a slight tilt of his head, the bullet hit his brow.

Under normal circumstances, the power of this kind of large-caliber revolver, as long as it hit the head, no matter where, would definitely shatter it like hitting a watermelon.

But right now... it didn't!

Looking at the bizarre scene in front of him, Su Lun's expression froze.

He actually watched as the bullet hit the bald man's forehead, and then... became embedded in his skull?

"What's going on? How can his skull be so hard?!"

In that instant, Su Lun immediately realized that he had probably come to a bizarre world beyond imagination.

Steam-powered mechanical arms, humans who don't die when shot in the head with firearms...

After a moment of shock, Su Lun's eyes regained their clarity, and all the violent madness in his eyes dissipated.

And at this time, the bald man, whose head had been shot but was almost unscathed, also looked at him with sinister eyes.
