Chapter 2406: Treacherous World.

For one, his body parts are still being carried around and used by the lamp bearers. He either has to go over to the god of justice to ask for his body back or kill the lamp bearers and recover his body parts himself.

Both options are likely to make the god of justice angry with him and try to kill him permanently. So he doesn’t want to use them.

The other option is to find a complete angel of killing to possess. This is the option he prefers to do. Unfortunately, it is not something he will be able to do anytime soon because his best candidate has been crippled.

The angel of killing that he had his mind on is in a worse situation than him. Not only did that angel lose his main soul, but he also lost his true body.

All that is left of the angel of killing are some avatars. Those avatars have regained their freedom and have lost control now. They are going about killing before their souls scatter and they die.

This leaves him with only two viable options. There is the one demigod killer in the spiritual dimension and Legion. Unfortunately, both of them are still far away from being usable.

He could only sigh and say, "This is a treacherous world."

He is still shaken about the fact that the god of justice had been forced to seal the Ocean of Blood and prevent a new god of killing from appearing. He is shaken because he believes that someone is targeting him.

The god of justice might believe that he is being targeted by someone, and that might be true, but he also believes that someone is targeting him. His proof of that is that he has tried and failed to resurrect many times.

It is said that the best way to determine someone’s goal is to see the result of what they do. He doesn’t know what the true goal of the person who forced the god of justice is, but the result of that scheme is clear as day to him.

The result is that he has not been able to recover after thousands of years. He can then use this result to narrow down who his enemies could be.

The people that want to see him dead the most are the gods of the two pathways adjacent to his pathway. These two are the god of fate and the god of undying. Since there is no god of undying, that leaves the god of fate.

What he doesn’t understand is why the god of fate didn’t try to get the Ocean of Blood for themselves and instead used it to restrict the god of justice.

If he were the god of fate, he would have surely tried to subdue the pathway of killing by absorbing the Ocean of Blood as soon as the god of killing was killed by the god of justice. Yet, that wasn’t so.

The more he thought of it, the more he couldn’t wrap his head around it. This wasn’t surprising because this is how most gods usually behave. If they do something, they do it sneakily and make sure that no one knows that it was them who did it.

He shook his head and said, "No matter what happens, I won’t leave this place until my angel is ready."

Then he smiled and said, "From what I can sense, that will happen soon."

The progress that Legion and the other killer were making truly made him happy. He was like a farmer watching his plants grow stronger.

Now that the god of justice has let the pathway of killing go, he doesn’t have anything to worry about anymore. His angels won’t be killed as soon as they appear in the world. This filled him with anticipation.

Legion was also full of anticipation for the arrival of their slaves. They were waiting for their slaves to arrive so that they could try the Power Bond divine ability on them.

They had run away from Wessex at a fast speed, so it was going to take their slaves some time to reach them. They decided to get busy in the meantime.

Legion was busy when they saw two stars appear above the kingdom of Wessex. The two stars were so large that they could be seen from nearly all over the world.

Then a third, much smaller star appeared. Despite being smaller, this third star filled the world with dread.

Only those in Wessex experienced the spiritual pressure from the eyes of the god of justice. This was because those eyes were solely focused on them.

But the whole world felt trepidation at the sight of the third star because it was something that could attack them wherever they were in the world. Legion in particular felt unprecedented danger from being too close to both the small star and the eyes of the god of justice.

Then they saw the downpour of fire from the third star. This happened just before the downpour was intercepted and directed onto the kingdom that Legion was in.

Every major city from the border up to the capital of the kingdom was hit by the golden pillar of light. Legion had been able to avoid this because they were staying in a town, not a city.

The whole world reeled because of that attack. The land was in a ravine, human lives were snuffed out by the millions, and cities were wiped out in the blink of an eye.

The effect of that attack was devastating on the kingdom it struck. It left many people shaken.

Many people felt both fear and awe of the power of the attack. But very few people, like Legion, were not so impressed by the power.

Legion-1 said, "At most, it is at the origin god level."

The power they witnessed didn’t feel special to them at all. In fact, it felt ordinary to them.
