Chapter 2400: Double Attack.
For a normal person, their mind might collapse after experiencing the power of this divine ability. Even if their mind doesn’t collapse, they will be terribly injured and might be so shaken that they will never harm someone again.
The pain and suffering alone is bad. But the worst part is that the damage from the divine ability will put them in the right state of mind for them to be vulnerable to the rank 6 Guillotine divine ability.
But for a killer that has killed a lot of people and inflicted a lot of pain, this divine ability might as well be a death sentence.
So when the divine ability was used on the avatar, its body and mind collapsed with a bang. The rank 6 Guillotine divine ability wasn’t needed to kill it at all. But if it had survived the mental attack, the white mood blade above its head would have stained itself red with blood.
The plan of the avatar to sacrifice itself in a powerful attack failed. In exchange, the light within the angel of death dimmed instantly. This signified that the angel of death had weakened.
This weakening was because she used the Eye of Judgement divine ability. This divine ability is powerful when used on the right target, but it consumes a lot of energy.
The energy consumption of the Eyes of Judgement divine ability is directly proportional to the amount of damage that it inflicts. So the more effective it is on a target, the more it will drain the angel of justice of their spiritual power.
In this situation, the drain of spiritual energy didn’t count for much and didn’t change the tides of battle because the other two angels were going to die anyway.
What’s more, now that she had killed the avatar in possession of the Blood Sacrifice divine ability, the angel of killing has lost the divine ability and won’t be able to use it against her anymore.
This meant that the angel of killing has been weakened both by losing an avatar and by losing the strongest divine ability at his disposal. By her reckoning, this battle has been won, so the angel of justice relaxed.
But just as she relaxed, a red lightning bolt came from the red plant below. She recognized this type of attack and knew that it was an attack created from the rank 9 Blood Sacrifice divine ability.
The appearance of this attack shocked her because it shouldn’t be possible for it to appear. After all, she had just killed the avatar that possessed the divine ability.
She was sure that it couldn’t be an illusion because of her rank 5 divine ability called Truth Seeker. No illusion from an angel could fool her, so she knew for sure that what she killed was truly the avatar of the angel of killing using the Blood Sacrifice.
And she is right to think that. The simple truth is that the angel of killing had repaired the injury caused by the loss of his avatar.
The angel of killing had gotten the support of the royal family of Wessex. This support included help in the form of manpower and resources. One of the resources in particular, called the Water of Life, was very helpful for healing injuries.
It required a lot of water of life to heal the injury to its soul and reclaim the divine ability. Even now, the injury wasn’t completely healed. All the angel of killing could do with that divine ability was activate an attack that it had prepared long before the arrival of the angel of justice.
Another thing that the royal family of Wessex had helped the angel of killing with was giving tens of thousands of people to kill and drain with the rank 8 Life Drain divine ability.
So the angel of killing was loaded with a lot of life energy before the angel of justice arrived. Then he used the ten minutes that the angel of justice gave him to prepare the attack.
The angel of killing didn’t use the attack as soon as the battle started. Instead, it sent out an avatar for the angel of justice to beat up.
The angel of justice took the bait and used her strongest divine ability to eliminate the avatar quickly. She had to do so, or the avatar would have used the Blood Sacrifice divine ability to injure her.
Unfortunately, she was still lacking by one step. Now that she was weakened and faltering, the attack created by using the lives of tens of thousands of people was very effective on her.
She is a judge, not a noble, so she doesn’t have any way to block that attack. She could only run to evade it, but the attack was too fast and had caught her off guard.
What’s worse is that her divine form is weak in terms of defense. After all, it is made of glass and wax. So when the red bolt of lightning struck her, it pierced her body and smashed into the flame within her.
There was no explosion after the attack connected. The red bolt simply diffused all over her body and tried to turn her to dust.
She resisted with all of her might. Unfortunately for her, she had just lost a lot of spiritual energy. There was no way that her divine flesh could keep her body intact now that she was lacking spiritual energy.
Even if her spiritual energy capacity was full, the attack would have still seriously injured her because it was made from sacrificing the life energy acquired from so many people.
But now that she had used a lot of divine ability to turn the world into an ocean of fire, burn the ground, burn her enemies, shackle them, and more, there was nothing she could do now but accept death.
However, even as she died, her eyes were calm. She said to them, "This is not over."
