Chapter 1453: Chapter 1453: Burying Head in the Pillow in Distress
"Throw it away, right?" Lilac Serval suddenly flung her hand and tossed the box out.
In an instant, Charles Mcintosh’s heart skipped a beat.
The box made a "thud" as it hit the ground, rolled a couple of times, and lay desolately on the ground.
Lilac Serval’s expression did not change, her crimson face was devoid of any emotion, it even held a hateful disdain.
Charles Mcintosh’s fists were clenched at his sides, a feeling indescribable began spreading from his chest, bit by bit, filling his entire body.
His body gradually grew colder.
It was as if all his blood had been drained, without any warmth.
He had anticipated her rejection, but he had not expected her to throw it away in front of him.
Charles Mcintosh tiredly closed his eyes, his eyelids bore the traces of weariness.
Forget it.
If she doesn’t want it, then so be it.
His gift, and him, she probably wouldn’t want either.
"Can I leave now?" Lilac Serval coldly looked at him, her eyes filled with blood vessels.
"I’ll take you home."
"No need." Lilac Serval refused, "Just take your car and go."
"I’ll take you back."
"I said no need!" Lilac Serval turned angry, glaring at him.
Charles Mcintosh’s body froze for a moment, he slowly nodded, his expression defeated: "Understood."
He finally let go of her hand, stood up from the sofa, straightened his clothes, and took one more look at her.
Lilac Serval closed her eyes, not looking at him anymore.
"Little Lilac." Charles Mcintosh spoke, "When are you going back to Lonton?"
"I’ll go when I feel like it."
"Will you miss me?"
Lilac Serval scoffed, giving him no answer.
Charles Mcintosh knew he was being hopelessly romantic, and eventually turned away, "Then I’ll be leaving, you should head home early too."
Lilac Serval still did not speak.
She kept her eyes closed, feeling a chilly temperature at her heart.
Her body was burning hot, but her heart was chillingly cold.
And the temperature at her heart was dropping bit by bit.
The door of the private room opened quickly, a cold breeze blew in, and soon, the door closed.
Lilac Serval lay on the sofa, her hair disheveled, her cheeks flushed, and her clothes were a mess.
She weakly raised her hand, touching her burning forehead.
Her head ached.
No matter how much she drank previously, her head would never hurt, this had been her habit for many years.
For some reason, even though she hadn’t drunk much today and was still very conscious, her head ached.
She rubbed her forehead, burying her head uncomfortably into the pillow.
The pillow was soft. She curled up, shrinking onto the sofa. As the night grew deep, a wave of cold washed over her heart.
Outside, the noisy music occasionally reached her ears.
She wanted to cover her ears, to shut out this world that scarcely made her happy.
She lay among the pillows for a long time, unable to fall asleep or hypnotize herself.
After a while, she made a call to Little Li: "What are you doing?"
"School has started, I’m attending the welcome party." The voice on the other end was cheerful and youthful.
"Is it fun?"
"Yes! It’s fun, there are lots of activities, and I’m the lead dancer in the street dance performance."
"Really? That’s awesome."
"Sister Lilac, it’d be great if you could come and see, I dance very well."
"Maybe there’ll be a chance later..."
"Yes, there will definitely be a chance later, once you get through this busy period. Didn’t you say you wanted to visit my school too?"
Over there, the noise was lively, as if many students were chattering incessantly, creating a bustling atmosphere.
Lilac Serval closed her eyes, not speaking, just listening to Little Li babbling on.
