Chapter 1463: Chapter 1463: You’re Worthy to Be My Father-in-Law?

Jesse Rowan was indeed young and didn’t think much of it, especially since he never took women’s words to heart.

For example, even when he accidentally got a pimple on his face, a group of women would still compliment his looks.

So, women’s words were just meant to be listened to and nothing more.

“Joan, you are so beautiful, you must have been born to seduce my soul…” Jesse Rowan bit her shoulder lightly.

“What are you, a dog?”

“Woof woof.”

“…”

Joan Harry had no experience in dealing with shameless people, so she closed her eyes and endured.

Jesse Rowan took her once.

Just as he wanted a second time, Joan Harry pushed him slightly, “I’m not feeling well today.”

Jesse Rowan obediently got off her, looking at her with innocent eyes, “Where do you feel uncomfortable?”

“I’m a bit tired, I want to sleep.”

“Then rest, get some good rest.”

Joan Harry didn’t speak again, she was indeed very tired, both physically and mentally.

She lifted her hand to cover her eyes, shielding her face from the light.

If only it could be like this forever, not seeing anything at all, how nice that would be.

Then she wouldn’t have to endure suffering and pain anymore.

Jesse Rowan looked down at her for a long while before leaving; before he left, he poured her a glass of boiling water.

When the door closed, Joan Harry cried.

Tears streamed down her cheeks, wetting the pillow; suddenly it was silent around her, only the sound of rain pouring outside could be heard.

It was raining outside, but why was her heart also drenched?

Her chest hurt badly, and she cried and cried until she curled up inside the blanket.

The blanket was cold, not warm at all.

The bed was unfamiliar, she didn’t like it one bit.

Koi Garden, she didn’t like it either.

Jesse Rowan went out to take a shower, probably because he hadn’t been with a woman for several days, he now felt thoroughly relaxed and in a good mood.

He changed into a grey-white bathrobe and picked a bottle of red wine as he walked to the living room.

As soon as he sat down, he poured the wine into a stemmed glass.

He really liked this villa, he even named it after himself.

“Mr. Rowan, Assistant Finley is here,” a servant came running.

“Oh, let him in.”

Jesse Rowan’s assistant Liamly Finley walked in, holding several documents in his hand.

“Mr. Rowan, the five million has been transferred.”

“You work efficiently.”

“Mr. Rowan, the issue with the Harry Family’s Northern Garden project has escalated a lot, should we continue to watch or add fuel to the fire?”

“What do you think? Just watch, what’s there to watch? Add fuel to the fire, let’s blow up the matter with the Harry Family.”

“This stir-up by the Harry Family will likely leave them with no way back. They’re done for.”

“What is my goal? Isn’t it to see the Harry Family done for? Now that no one is willing to provide funds to help the Harry Family, Yacob Harry has to please me!” Jesse Rowan spoke with a smug smile, “By the time he can’t do without me, I’ll pull back, withdraw all investments, and he will fall hard off the cliff. Not only is there no way back, he will probably be utterly destroyed.”

“Mr. Rowan is indeed formidable,” Liamly Finley said with a smile.

Jesse Rowan adjusted the collar of his robe, tilted his head back, and took a sip of red wine; his fair face bore a coldness that belied his age.

As the red wine warmed his stomach, a hazy drunkenness set in.

Sipping on his drink, he sneered: “Father-in-law? To hell with father-in-law, are you worthy of being my father-in-law?”

Liamly Finley was unclear about what Jesse Rowan was referring to, his face full of confusion.

Jesse Rowan didn’t say much more, just continued to drink, his eyes showing an inscrutable gleam.

Liamly Finley placed the documents on the table: “Mr. Rowan, here’s the latest information on the Harry Family Business, please review it.”

“Alright, leave it there.”
