Chapter 394: Chapter 320: First Light: 3_5
She ran her hand through her hair and asked, "Have you washed your face and brushed your teeth?"
Xiao Bei shook his head.
Zhou Yun unpacked a new toothbrush for Xiao Bei.
After tidying up, Zhou Yun said, "Let’s have breakfast first, then go to the hospital, how does that sound?"
Xiao Bei asked, "Is my dad awake yet?"
Zhou Yun checked her phone and there were no messages.
"He probably hasn’t yet, there’s no news from the hospital." Zhou Yun took Xiao Bei’s hand. "Let’s go."
Xiao Bei nodded and uttered a sound of affirmation.
While Zhou Yun and Xiao Bei were sitting in the noodle restaurant eating noodles, her phone rang.
It was Zheng Xiaojue.
Zheng Xiaojue asked in surprise, "Sister Xiao Yun, where did you all go so early? Why weren’t you there when I came to look for you?"
"We’ve already come out for breakfast," Zhou Yun said. "We’re on the way to the hospital, at a small noodle restaurant by the road called Soup Noodle Restaurant."
Zheng Xiaojue said, "I’ll be right there."
Zhou Yun put down her phone.
Xiao Bei asked, "Aunt Xiao Yun, was that a call from the hospital?"
"No," Zhou Yun shook her head and said, "It was my assistant. Eat quickly, after we finish, we’ll go to the hospital to see your dad."
Xiao Bei nodded vigorously and continued to eat the fried egg on his noodles.
Zheng Xiaojue arrived as fast as she could.
In the steamy noodle restaurant, Zhou Yun and Xiao Bei, one adult and one child, sat naturally at a table, oblivious to people around them taking pictures with their phones.
Zheng Xiaojue felt a headache coming on; she sat down, lowered her voice, and said, "Sister Xiao Yun, do you realize there are a few people around snapping photos of you?"
Zhou Yun looked indifferent, "Let them take pictures if they want to; I’m not doing anything shameful."
Zheng Xiaojue choked on the words "you’re a big celebrity," she couldn’t voice them out.
Xiao Bei looked at Zheng Xiaojue with his big eyes, remembering what her name was, and asked, "Aunt Xiaoju, have you had breakfast?"
Zheng Xiaojue’s face softened with an uncontrollable smile when she saw Xiao Bei.
"Not yet."
Xiao Bei said, "Then you should go order quickly."
Zheng Xiaojue was taken aback.
Zhou Yun said, "Go on, see what you feel like eating. This place has good noodles, tasty."
Zheng Xiaojue hesitated before rising to order.
Zheng Xiaojue always felt that this scene was a bit off.
What female celebrity, like Zhou Yun, would walk into such a roadside shop without worry, eating noodles without any concern for image?
But Zheng Xiaojue could tell, Zhou Yun had only put on sunscreen and not even lipstick!
Thinking it over, she felt it was her duty to report this to Zhou Lan.
After Zhou Yun and Xiao Bei finished eating and waiting for Zheng Xiaojue to finish, they left for the hospital.
Some people approached, wanting a photo with Zhou Yun who had already put on sunglasses. She said, "Sorry, I’m in a hurry, maybe next time."
Without waiting for a reply about when next time would be, she led Xiao Bei by the hand and walked out.
Once they arrived at the hospital, they inquired about Zhong Zhihui’s room number.
Early in the morning, the hospital was full of people with appointments to see the doctor. Thankfully, there were fewer people in the inpatient department.
Standing in the elevator with Xiao Bei, Zhou Yun attracted puzzled glances from several people in the narrow space.
However, dressed plainly and wearing sunglasses, they who thought she might be Zhou Yun doubted themselves, unsure whether it could really be her.
In just a moment, the elevator arrived, and Zhou Yun led Xiao Bei out.
Finally, they found Zhong Zhihui’s hospital room.
The person arranged by the show crew to take care of him was sitting next to him, dozing off.
Zhong Zhihui was lying in bed with his eyes closed and had not woken up yet, his head bandaged.
Seeing his dad, Xiao Bei immediately ran over and threw himself on him.
Zhou Yun walked over and gently tapped the arm of the person in charge of watching him.
He snapped his eyes open.
Zhou Yun said, "Let me take over here, you should go home and get some rest."
The man, surprised to see it was Zhou Yun, stood up, somewhat flustered, "Miss Zhou, we will have someone coming to take over soon."
Zhou Yun replied, "Alright, you go ahead. Don’t worry, I’ll stay here until that person arrives."
The man, feeling honored but clearly exhausted, said, "Then, I’ll leave it to you."
"Goodbye," Zhou Yun smiled. "Thank you for your hard work."
Luckily, the bed next door was empty, and the room was theirs alone.
Zhou Yun sat down on a chair.
Zheng Xiaojue put down her backpack and said, "I’ll go get some hot water. I rushed out so quickly earlier that I forgot to get it."
