Chapter 398: Chapter 321: Keep Your Distance (Part 2)
She walked into the bedroom, changed into another outfit, grabbed her bag, and was ready to leave.
Wen Xi had arranged to meet her, and they had agreed to have lunch together at noon.
Cao Jun was already waiting for her downstairs.
Upon arriving at the planned restaurant, Zhou Yun sent a message to Wen Xi: Sister Wen Xi, I’m here.
Wen Xi immediately made a call, asking, "Xiao Yun, where are you? I’ll come to get you."
Zhou Yun replied, "I’m in the parking lot, it’s fine, just tell me where you are, I’ll come straight to you."
Wen Xi responded, "The private room is a bit hard to find, the design inside is quite complex. You wait for me in the parking lot."
She quickly hung up the phone.
Zhou Yun had no choice but to wait in the parking lot for Wen Xi to come.
From afar, she saw Wen Xi walking towards her in high heels, basking in the sunlight.
A supermodel indeed, with a statuesque figure, the whole world could become her backdrop at any moment.
Zhou Yun got out of the car and waved to Wen Xi.
Wen Xi smiled brightly.
"Just finished Fashion Week and now I can take a break, otherwise I wouldn’t dare to ask you out for lunch," Wen Xi said. "I’ve been really hungry recently."
Looking at Wen Xi’s long and toned figure, Zhou Yun said, "I dream of having a figure like yours."
Wen Xi chuckled, waved her hand, and said, "Stop it, I want your face."
Zhou Yun linked arms with Wen Xi and they walked towards the restaurant.
As Wen Xi mentioned, the interior really was a bit complex. The courtyard wasn’t even square-shaped, and there were even two glass bridges built in the middle—the entire building must be an irregular shape.
Zhou Yun asked curiously, "Sister Wen Xi, how did you find this place?"
Wen Xi blinked and said, "Jin Su brought me here once. I really like the dishes they serve here, they are quite refreshing, so I decided to bring you here this time."
"What is Jin Su doing now?" Of course, Zhou Yun remembered Wen Xi’s junior. He had even auditioned for the male lead in her unnamed fashion drama, but frankly speaking, his performance was mediocre. Zhou Yun didn’t plan to settle and had mentioned this to Wen Xi.
Wen Xi replied, "He just finished a catwalk at Fashion Week and is on vacation in France. He has not returned yet."
"Vacation?" Zhou Yun remarked, "That sounds nice."
Wen Xi smiled, "He prefers to enjoy life."
Both of them were among the hottest female celebrities in the entertainment industry today, definitely on the list of most-wanted guests for various fashion events.
But the waitstaff at the restaurant seemed to have undergone strict training. Seeing the two of them, there was not a hint of excessive emotion—just courteous smiles and warm, thoughtful service.
Wen Xi ordered the food and said to Zhou Yun, "I saw some online criticism about you the day before yesterday. I was going to call you, but I thought you must be busy dealing with it, so I didn’t want to disturb you. Fortunately, Song Chi was very supportive and stood up to speak for you, shutting them down."
Zhou Yun smiled and shook her head, "I didn’t expect him to respond directly to that person either, it really took me by surprise. My company was still thinking about how to handle the public opinion, and then, just like that, it was all over."
Wen Xi smiled and said, "That person was just looking for trouble, and everyone else was just there for the drama."
Resting her chin in her hands, Zhou Yun asked, "Sister Wen Xi, you’ve encountered these sorts of criticisms very rarely over the years, haven’t you? Everyone says you are a breath of fresh air in the entertainment industry."
"What fresh air? It’s just because of the nature of my work, I rarely collaborate with male artists, so there aren’t many rumors about me," Wen Xi said. "If I were an actress who had to work with so many people, not being able to complete the job on my own in the spotlight, I think I would not have been spared either."
The two looked at each other and shared a smile.
"However, I really didn’t expect you and Song Chi to get together," Wen Xi said. "I’ve known Song Chi for several years, and he’s always kept a respectful distance from female celebrities, not wanting to get entangled unnecessarily."
Zhou Yun nodded, "Many people have said that to me. I asked him why, and he said because it easily leads to trouble."
"For someone he likes, it’s different. Look at him, he isn’t afraid at all to be caught up in trouble with you," Wen Xi said with a smile. "That’s really nice."
"What about you, Sister Wen Xi?" Zhou Yun asked curiously.
"After breaking up with my last boyfriend, I didn’t want to date again, at least not for the next two years," Wen Xi said. "Dating really drains my spirit."
Zhou Yun laughed uncontrollably.
"How so?"
Wen Xi explained, "When you’re together, it can become annoying, and when you’re not, you start overthinking everything—it’s completely different from how I normally am."
