Overlord Star

Chapter 93 The Reverse Scale

The female receptionist hesitated.

"Sir, our company is holding an appraisal event today, and our boss will preside over it personally. Why don't you wait a moment? After the appraisal event concludes, the boss will have time," the female receptionist said.

"Appraisal event?" Jiang Yi smiled faintly.

"Yes!"

The female receptionist nodded. "Many famous collectors will be attending. Our company holds one every year, and this year's appraisal event happens to be today."

"Alright, then I'll wait. I'll also ask Sun San Yan to appraise my treasure."

Jiang Yi sat down in a chair.

The female receptionist busied herself pouring tea for Jiang Yi.

Afterward, the female receptionist left to attend to other guests.

The stall owner stood behind Jiang Yi, trembling with fear.

Seeing that no one was around, the stall owner whispered, "Boss, everyone attending the appraisal today are big figures. If you go and cause trouble for Sun San Yan now, it's no different from seeking death. I'm begging you, if you want to die, don't drag me down with you!"

Jiang Yi ignored the stall owner.

Seeing Jiang Yi remain silent, the stall owner looked helpless.

He really wanted to escape now, but he dared not.

It was because his leverage was still in Jiang Yi's hands. If he left now, Jiang Yi would surely not let him off.

The stall owner regretted his actions deeply, regretting that he had tried to scheme against Jiang Yi.

His attempt to scheme against Jiang Yi had failed, and instead, he had gotten himself into trouble.

It was a classic case of losing more than he gained.

Before long, various luxury cars were parked along the street outside, and then many people from high society began to walk in.

All the receptionists in the lobby immediately got busy, attending to these distinguished guests.

Jiang Yi scanned the crowd and noticed that most of them were big bosses who owned companies.

The rest were elites from the business world, none of whom were ordinary individuals.

This surprised Jiang Yi.

Sun Hao, a swindler, had such powerful connections.

It seemed this Sun Hao was no simple person!

However, Jiang Yi was not worried. A mere Sun Hao was nothing to him; dealing with him would be as easy as turning his hand.

Jiang Yi planned to expose Sun Hao's fraud first, ruin his reputation, and then kill him.

There was no need to be lenient with someone like Sun Hao.

Suddenly, a man wearing glasses walked over, his gaze appraising both Jiang Yi and the stall owner.

"Do you have an invitation?" the man with glasses asked Jiang Yi.

"What invitation?" Jiang Yi retorted.

"Today is our company's annual appraisal event, and we invite people from all walks of life. Our boss has sent invitations to anyone with status and position!"

After speaking, the man with glasses continued, "Without an invitation, you are not qualified to participate in our company's appraisal event. Leave immediately, or don't blame me for being rude."

The man with glasses spoke with disdain.

In his eyes, anyone without an invitation was not qualified to sit in the lobby and attend the appraisal event.

"Who are you?" Jiang Yi asked.

"I am the boss's assistant!"

The man with glasses said proudly, "At the same time, I am the boss's brother-in-law. The boss is my brother-in-law."

Jiang Yi couldn't help but laugh!

No wonder this fellow was so arrogant, targeting him even before the appraisal event began.

"You are not qualified to make me leave. Call your brother-in-law here!" Jiang Yi said.

Upon hearing this, the man with glasses' face immediately showed anger.

"Kid, do you know where this is? How dare you act presumptuously here? I think you're tired of living!"

The man with glasses said coldly, "Don't think that just because you drove a hundred-million-dollar luxury car parked at the entrance, you're a person of high society! Looking at your attire, you're clearly someone who likes to show off. That car definitely isn't yours!"

Soon, his words attracted the attention of many people.

"Is that car you're driving rented?"

The man with glasses continued to mock, "If you were a genuine person of high society, driving such a nice car, you would exude an air of nobility. But from you, I only feel poverty!"

After speaking, the man with glasses showed disdain on his face.

"I've seen plenty of people like you. You always like to show off, but in reality, you're so poor you don't have a cent in your account, and you're drowning in debt, poorer than a beggar on the street."

The man with glasses spat profusely, as if he knew Jiang Yi very well.

The onlookers burst into laughter.

Everyone regarded Jiang Yi as a clown who was showing off.

"Disappear from my sight immediately, and I will pretend nothing happened!" Jiang Yi's gaze turned sharp.

"Who do you think you are, telling me to disappear!"

The man with glasses snorted, completely disregarding Jiang Yi.

"You don't even have an invitation, yet you dare to act tough in front of me. Didn't your mother teach you how to behave? Or did your mother die early, making you an orphan..."

These words directly touched Jiang Yi's bottom line.

His mother's death had always been a scar in Jiang Yi's heart.

And this man with glasses, unaware of the danger, had brought up Jiang Yi's mother.

Jiang Yi stood up, his sharp gaze fixed on the man with glasses.

"What? You're not convinced, want to hit me? Go ahead and hit me if you dare!"

The man with glasses deliberately leaned his face towards Jiang Yi.

He relied on being Sun Hao's brother-in-law, believing no one would dare to touch him.

The crowd erupted in laughter, the sound echoing throughout the hall.

The next second, their laughter abruptly stopped, their expressions frozen on their faces.

"Slap!"

Jiang Yi swung his hand and slapped the man with glasses.

The slap was crisp and loud.

The man with glasses' face immediately swelled up like a steamed bun, his front teeth knocked out, his nose broken, and blood gushed from his nose.

This scene stunned everyone!

The man with glasses was Sun Hao's brother-in-law, and no one present dared to lay a hand on him.

Jiang Yi was the first to dare to strike the man with glasses.

"You bastard, you dared to hit me..." The man with glasses was furious.

In his eyes, being hit by someone without status or position was a highly humiliating matter, more unbearable than death.

Jiang Yi did not intend to let the man with glasses off so easily. He grabbed him by the collar and threw a punch.

This punch sent the man with glasses sprawling onto the ground.

After a while, the man with glasses finally managed to get up from the ground again.

"Slap..."

Jiang Yi threw another punch!

This punch knocked the man with glasses down, and he couldn't get up from the ground for a long time.

The people around dared not approach, for fear of getting into trouble themselves.

"You insulted me, and I could have let it slide, but you shouldn't have insulted my mother."

Jiang Yi stared at the man with glasses lying on the ground.

The man with glasses' eyes were filled with rage and murderous intent as he glared fiercely at Jiang Yi.

Jiang Yi sat down on the sofa, continuing to wait for Sun Hao to appear.

The stall owner's face was filled with despair.
