Chapter 230: River of magma
As soon as this red liquid appeared, the heat that came from it immediately filled this entire cave.
It wasn’t just any normal heat, it was an intense heat that could even break through the Heat Resistance Skill that we possessed.
After all, this red liquid wasn’t just any normal liquid.
It was magma that came pouring out of the ground.
"Move."
As soon as I said this, all of us started moving towards the exit of the cave.
With the magma pouring out like this, we really couldn’t remain in this place or else we would be drowned by this magma to which it seemed like there was no end.
But as we were running, Faust suddenly raised a wall of ice that blocked the magma.
It was strange that this ice was able to block the magma, but he quickly said, "All of you, share your senses with me and use the same spell."
So we all did the same thing and created a transparent wall of ice in front of us that stopped the flowing magma.
From the shared senses, we could tell what he was thinking and that was why we supported him.
It would be bad if this magma were to flow out of this cave and be discovered by someone. With how bright and how much heat this magma gave off, it really would be hard for others to miss this much magma flowing out of the cave.
So we had to stop it before it could leave this cave.
After a while, the magma hardened and created a seal that stopped the rest of the magma.
But that just caused another problem where this cave was completely sealed off by the magma.
While we had taken care of everything and had taken the impure blood red dragon corpse with us, we still wanted to see what was hiding underneath.
"Who said that we have to do it from the cave? We can just dig from the side."
Faust said before waving his hand to pull out some of his skeletons.
"The problem is the magma still. Even if we go from the side, the magma will still be there under the ground. Unless we have a way to get rid of the magma, but that will attract too much attention."
"Who said that we don’t have a way to deal with it? Will there be an infinite amount of magma under the ground? As long as we divert it, it’ll be fine."
All of us looked at Faust with confused looks when we heard this.
Though it did sound like he had a plan, we really had no idea what his plan was.
That was until we saw it happen in front of us.
His plan was to use pits that would draw out the magma from the source until there was enough of it drained that a gap would open. Once that gap opened, we would be able to dig down and see where this magma came from.
Or rather, we would be able to see what was creating this magma.
It didn’t seem like it was that feasible, but Faust insisted on it. So in the end, he had his skeletons create several holes all around the hill that this cave was in.
These skeletons dug until they reached the magma before increasing the size of the holes.
As the size of the holes increased, there was more and more space for the magma.
The first hole had a problem where the magma came up too fast and some of the skeletons that had been digging in them were burnt to ashes. Even if they were skeletons that were created with necromancy, there was nothing that they could do when they were burned by magma.
But it seemed like this wasn’t a problem by the second hole.
Once the second hole was dug, it seemed like whatever the pressure was that was forcing the magma out of the ground had been reduced to the point where the skeletons were able to get out of the way in time.
In the end, it took around ten different holes filling up with this magma before the pressure had been decreased to the point where the magma barely flowed.
It was only then that Faust had the skeletons dig an eleventh hole into the ground that allowed us to reach the source.
But the moment that we found it, it seemed like it wasn’t the end just yet.
After all, it was a river of magma that seemed to be flowing under the ground.
From the marks on the tunnel, we could see that it had been much higher up than this previously. But because of the holes that we dug that drew out some of the magma, it was much lower now.
At the same time, there was even a part of the tunnel that allowed us to follow this river of magma.
"Is it just a natural river of magma that’s flowing underground?"
"It would make sense that this would give off fire elemental energy..."
"But it seems like this alone wouldn’t be enough."
After thinking about it, all of us looked at Faust.
Even though we had the same senses, he was the one that was the most familiar with using our senses to scan for mana. Even now, we could see that he was using this to see the flow of fire elemental energy.
A moment of silence passed before Faust finally said, "There is something that is adding fire elemental energy into this magma and it seems to be coming from that direction?"
The strange thing was that Faust was pointing in the direction that the magma was flowing in.
If one thought about it, it should be in the direction that the magma came from since it was fire elemental energy that was being carried by the magma.
But we didn’t doubt him since we could easily share our senses with him to confirm this.
If Faust said that it was coming from that direction, that it was coming from that direction.
It was just that we had no idea what was in that direction.
