The vine spirit saw this and quickly reached out to stop Ah Xue, "What are you doing?"
"If she can't, I want to go too," Ah Xue said, looking back at the vine spirit, her voice filled with emotion.
Conversely, the moment Ah Xue uttered these words, the vine spirit inexplicably let out a laugh.
Ah Xue didn't understand what the vine spirit meant. She immediately put on an expression of incomprehension, "Is what I said that funny? What are you laughing at? Unless," she said, her brow furrowing slightly, "you think I'm meddling."
The vine spirit hadn't expected Ah Xue to overthink things and chuckled again, "To be honest, are you jealous of Mei Gui?"
"Jealous of her," Ah Xue's voice involuntarily rose, and she let out a cold laugh, "What are you thinking? I'm just worried about Mu An Xiao." As she spoke, her eyes clearly darted away.
The vine spirit nodded with a smile, "Alright, if you don't admit it, then so be it."
"Admit what? I'm just worried about Mu An Xiao, anything else..." Ah Xue didn't want the vine spirit to misunderstand further and became resolute, "Anything else has nothing to do with me."
"Then are you still going?" the vine spirit asked, intentionally changing the subject.
Upon hearing this, Ah Xue glanced towards the main entrance and hesitated, "She and Master have never had any interaction. If I go, it might not be of any use." As she spoke, she withdrew her gaze and looked at the smirking vine spirit, "You're laughing again." "I think you care more about the wolf demon," the vine spirit said, turning and walking towards the room.
Ah Xue's body stiffened. She hurriedly looked at the vine spirit's retreating back and shouted, "Don't talk nonsense, I care about Mu An Xiao, Mu An Xiao." After speaking, she clenched her hands slightly.
The vine spirit chuckled twice and continued, "Only you know what you think in your heart." With that, he entered the room and closed the door.
Ah Xue stood alone, watching the door that the vine spirit had closed. Her eyes darkened, and she thought, 'Mei Gui will surely be able to persuade Master to rescue him... them, right?' With this thought, she cast one last glance at the vine spirit's door and turned towards the kitchen.
Before long, Mei Gui arrived in a hurry outside Ouyang Ye's study. Xi'er was guarding outside. To meet Ouyang Ye smoothly, she specifically went up to Xi'er. Xi'er didn't want to pay attention to Mei Gui, but seeing her approach, Xi'er couldn't help but speak, "Why are you here?"
Mei Gui pursed her lips and asked, "Is Master in?" She looked at Xi'er with trepidation.
Xi'er replied, "He is. What do you need Master for?"
"Something," Mei Gui just wanted to see the wolf demon quickly and didn't want Xi'er to relay the message, so she gave a perfunctory reply.
Xi'er had no curiosity about Mei Gui's visit at first. But for some reason, the moment Mei Gui uttered those three words, she became curious. "Something, what is it?" Ouyang Ye had a habit of soundproofing his study, so Xi'er was not afraid of Ouyang Ye overhearing. xxs壹贰
Conversely, Mei Gui was unaware of Ouyang Ye's habit. Thus, upon hearing Xi'er's blatant question, her heart became uneasy. "You... I need to see Master. Aren't you afraid Master will hear you asking me like this?" she asked, clutching her handkerchief tightly.
Immediately, Xi'er glanced at the handkerchief Mei Gui was gripping in her hand, smiled faintly, "As expected of a lady, always carrying a handkerchief wherever she goes," she said, then shifted her gaze back to Mei Gui's face, "But speaking of which, aren't you afraid Master will be jealous like this?"
"Master?" Mei Gui was confused. "I'm looking for Master, what does this... have to do with Master?"
"You tell me what it has to do with," Xi'er said.
Mei Gui frowned slightly. "I have something to say to Master, and it's important business. Naturally," she said, unable to understand the implication of Xi'er's words, and became serious, "it has nothing to do with Master."
"You..."
"Did I say something wrong?" Mei Gui interrupted, worried that Xi'er might say something she wouldn't understand.
Xi'er smiled. "What you said is right, but you probably don't know the rules of this study."
"What rules?" Mei Gui asked, puzzled.
Xi'er looked at Mei Gui's completely bewildered expression and then glanced back at the closed study door. She said, "Master once ordered that no woman is allowed to enter Master's study alone. If you enter," she paused, her gaze sweeping over Mei Gui's face, and continued, "you will be severely punished."
"What?" Mei Gui exclaimed in surprise.
Xi'er's lips curled. "That's how it is. I advise you to think things through carefully." With that, she crossed her arms.
Mei Gui hesitated.
Just then, the bee, having transformed into human form, saw Mei Gui being blocked by Xi'er. His heart sank, and he hurried to Mei Gui's side, glaring at Xi'er. "What are you doing?" Under Mei Gui's influence, he had lost his usual respect for Xi'er.
Xi'er knew that the bee liked Mei Gui, so she magnanimously turned her gaze to the bee and said patiently, "You should ask her that question." She glanced at Mei Gui.
Mei Gui disliked the bee and deliberately ignored him, saying, "Then what should I do? Or, you can go in with me." She looked at Xi'er with anticipation.
Hearing this, Xi'er glanced at the bee, who seemed used to this, and said faintly, "You know, Master has always disliked me. The reason I'm here is because Master knows Master doesn't want me entering this study. If you ask me to go in with you now," she said, "aren't you courting death?"
"I can vouch for you," Mei Gui said hastily.
Xi'er laughed. "Your beauty is already enough to make Master jealous. If Master finds out I brought you into Master's study," she sighed, "Master will likely be even more angry."
Hearing Xi'er's repeated excuses, Mei Gui clearly lost her patience and said agitatedly, "I really have something to see Master about. Please... help me think of a way."
Xi'er looked at Mei Gui's anxious expression and then thought of Mo Juan's usual jealous temperament. Her lips curved upwards, and she looked at the bee, who was still staring at Mei Gui, and said faintly, "I have a way." With that, she withdrew her gaze and fixed it on Mei Gui.
Mei Gui smiled. "Really."
"Look at him," Xi'er pointed at the bee.
Subsequently, Mei Gui, who had intended to ignore the bee, forced herself to look at the bee at Xi'er's prompting and asked, "Why look at him?" She inadvertently... met the bee's eyes.
A smile appeared in the bee's eyes.
Xi'er said, "Let him go in with you."
Upon hearing this, Mei Gui's body stiffened, and she quickly turned her head to look at Xi'er. "This isn't good, is it?" She didn't want the bee to know what she was going to do.
