Chapter 48 The Thief

“Of course, it was me who gave her the confidence,” the Yin Messenger appeared beside Shen Yan.

“You?” Shen Yan calmly looked at the Yin Messenger.

“While your taste isn’t the best, that fellow is someone with immortal destiny,” the Yin Messenger said, crossing his arms and staring at Mu Anxiao’s figure.

“How could she possibly have immortal destiny?” Shen Yan didn’t believe it.

The Yin Messenger glanced sideways at Shen Yan and said, “Believe it or not, she’s already my friend. Even if you don’t help her, I’ll still find a way to make her an outstanding little Yin Messenger.”

“You want to make her a Yin Messenger?” Shen Yan was surprised.

“Yes, she’s eaten things from my underworld, so naturally, she has to do work for me.”

“You forced her, didn’t you,” Shen Yan stated plainly.

The Yin Messenger paused for a moment and said, “If I don’t push her a little, she’ll never know how powerful she truly is. I’m helping her.”

Shen Yan snorted lightly and looked at Mu Anxiao, who was already standing in front of the vine spirit, saying, “Before you help her, you need to think clearly. She’s a very self-interested person. If there’s no benefit, she won’t cooperate with you properly.”

“I’ll give her silver,” the Yin Messenger said righteously.

“Don’t tell me,” Shen Yan turned and stared directly at the Yin Messenger’s profile, “you’re going to give her spirit money.”

“What else?” the Yin Messenger said nonchalantly.

“Alright, you’re amazing.” Shen Yan gave the Yin Messenger a thumbs-up.

The Yin Messenger couldn’t help but smile, “Thank you for the compliment.”

Shen Yan felt utterly speechless about this and changed the subject, “Speaking of which,” he reached out and touched the barrier again, “do you know how to break this thing?”

The Yin Messenger reached out and touched the barrier, paused for a few seconds, then withdrew his hand, “I don’t know.”

“Isn’t this thing from your underworld?” Shen Yan frowned slightly and looked at the Yin Messenger.

The Yin Messenger exclaimed excitedly, “Impossible! Our underworld things, they…” He glanced at the vine spirit standing opposite Mu Anxiao and said calmly, “Could he have stolen it?”

“What do you think?” Shen Yan calmly retorted, staring at the Yin Messenger.

Upon hearing this, the Yin Messenger’s eyes widened in anger as he shouted at the vine spirit, “You thief, you thief!”

Mu Anxiao was curious about the Yin Messenger’s words, so she glanced at the vine spirit, then half-turned to look at the Yin Messenger shouting outside the barrier. Just as she was about to speak, Shen Yan suddenly shouted with wide eyes, “Mu Anxiao, be careful behind you!”

Following Shen Yan’s warning, the vine spirit raised its hand and roared, “Die!” before pressing its hand onto Mu Anxiao’s shoulder.

Mu Anxiao, feeling nothing, turned her head to look at the vine spirit and asked, “What are you doing?”

The vine spirit’s eyes widened sharply, and it said, “You don’t feel anything?”

Mu Anxiao calmly glanced at the vine spirit’s hand, then looked down at the two spirits tightly gripping her legs. Tilting her head, she asked, “Um, don’t you feel anything?” She pointed at his feet.

Then, the vine spirit frowned and looked down at the two spirits clinging to its legs, its eyes widening as it asked, “How did you get in here?”

Spirit Number One looked up and said, “We can get anywhere.” As it spoke, it opened its mouth and bit into the vine spirit’s leg.

Spirit Number Two smiled as it watched the vine spirit’s changing expression and said, “You can come out now.” It glanced at Mu Anxiao and shouted loudly, “Coward, punch him in the stomach!” As it spoke, it bit into his other leg.

Mu Anxiao helplessly accepted the name the spirits gave her, took a step back, raised her fist, and delivered a heavy punch to the vine spirit’s abdomen. She retracted her hand and asked, “Is that enough?”
