Chapter 10 The Ginkgo Tree Demon

"What do you really want?"

"I've been waiting in that courtyard for someone like you for a long time... no..." Ye Yin stepped forward to Shen Yan, looking up into his eyes, "I should say, a divine being like you."

Mu Anxiao, sitting on the ground, kept rubbing her head. She looked up at the back of Shen Yan's head with blurry eyes and mumbled, "What's a 'divine being'?" As she spoke, she brushed the sand off her face.

Shen Yan turned his head to look at Mu Anxiao, who was sitting on the ground, and said coldly, "Hide over there."

Mu Anxiao absently replied with an "Oh," and stood up, supporting herself with one hand on her waist. She turned to look on both sides, then finally hid behind a tree.

Seeing Mu Anxiao move away, Shen Yan looked back and said, "A divine being like me is probably of no use to you."

"I am a Ginkgo Tree spirit. If I can help a divine couple become one, my cultivation can increase," Ye Yin smiled. "Tell me, am I of no use to you?"

"What kind of tree spirit you are has nothing to do with me. I advise you to leave quickly, or don't blame me for being impolite," Shen Yan said, a faint blue light beginning to glow in his palm.

Ye Yin lowered her head to look at Shen Yan's hand and smiled. "You hide yourself well, but your blood has betrayed you. You'd better hide quickly, as many monsters are already coveting you. You should be careful." With that, she disappeared in a flash.

Shen Yan hadn't expected that the bottle of blood he brought down to help his other half ascend to immortality would bring him trouble. He slightly lowered his eyelids and thought, 'It seems I must first send that thing back, and then continue my search.' Having thought this, he turned and called out, "Mu Anxiao, come out."

"....."

Hearing no reply, Shen Yan furrowed his brow and said again, "Mu Anxiao, come out."

Unexpectedly, there was still no reply.

At this moment, Mu Anxiao was brought back to the courtyard by Ye Yin.

"My lady, why did you tie me up?" she asked calmly, looking at her hands bound by vines and leaves.

Ye Yin closed the door with a swing of her arm, then turned and stared at the back of Mu Anxiao's head, saying, "You're not his younger brother, are you?"

"Yes," Mu Anxiao avoided her gaze.

Ye Yin shot in front of Mu Anxiao and looked directly into her eyes, saying, "Tell me the truth, or I'll eat you."

"You're a plant spirit, you don't eat people, do you?" Mu Anxiao said with a grin.

"You'd better not play coy with me, or I'll find someone to eat you."

"You find someone to eat me, and then that person eats me? Your phrasing is quite strange," Mu Anxiao pretended to be serious.

"I'll find a monster to eat you," Ye Yin corrected.

Mu Anxiao chuckled dryly, "That's more like it."

Ye Yin looked closely into Mu Anxiao's eyes and said, "Your eyes really look like a woman's eyes."

"A woman?" Mu Anxiao repeated, retracting her head. "I'm a real man. If I weren't, do you think that old-fashioned man would let me follow him?"

Ye Yin deeply felt that Mu Anxiao's words had merit and said, "He must have already discovered you are gone."

"Not 'must have'," Mu Anxiao shook her head calmly.

"Then what?"

"Certainly," Mu Anxiao stated firmly.

"You make a good point," Ye Yin nodded.

Mu Anxiao looked at the somewhat foolish appearance of Ye Yin before her and said, "You've never left this place, have you?"

"How did you know?" Ye Yin was startled.

"Monsters with profound cultivation don't usually hide among humans. Firstly, it's easy to be discovered, and secondly, they detest humans," Mu Anxiao said, rolling her eyes. "Although, I didn't realize you were a monster at first."
