Chapter 82 The Child

"You think too much in your head all day. I really drank it."

"You're lying to me."

"I'm not. I just finished it, and you clearly saw it. You..."

"You put the water you finished drinking into the bundle behind you. This flask is still full. You're afraid you'll drink it all yourself, so you want my water, right?" Shen Yan said. "Mu Anxiao."

This time, Mu Anxiao was speechless.

"Why aren't you talking anymore?" Shen Yan asked calmly, looking at Mu Anxiao, who was deliberately avoiding his gaze.

Mu Anxiao glanced away and said, "Your head has eyes on the back. I won't argue with you."

"This is quite innovative of you this time," Shen Yan said lightly.

Mu Anxiao's lips twisted. "You don't eat or drink at all. What's wrong with giving me your water, you stingy person."

Shen Yan did not argue with Mu Anxiao about this matter. Instead, without a word, he pulled the leather flask beside him and handed it to Mu Anxiao. "The water is finished, don't ask me for more."

"You finally have a conscience," Mu Anxiao said, snatching the flask and taking a gulp after opening it.

Shen Yan was speechless watching Mu Anxiao.

Not long after they walked, Mu Anxiao's stomach started to feel uncomfortable.

"I can't, I need to go to the privy."

Upon hearing this, Shen Yan stopped helplessly, turned to look at Mu Anxiao, who was bending over and holding her stomach, and said, "They say lazy people need to relieve themselves often. What's going on with you?"

"Stop with the sarcastic remarks. I can't anymore," Mu Anxiao said, untying the rope tied to her right hand.

Shen Yan closed his eyes helplessly, took back the rope, and turned his back. "Hurry up."

"Okay," Mu Anxiao replied. As she turned around, a pale, sickly child of about a dozen years old suddenly appeared before her. Instantly, she screamed.

The child, who had reached her neck, looked at Mu Anxiao calmly and said, "Brother, I'm hungry."

Mu Anxiao continued to scream.

Shen Yan turned to look at Mu Anxiao's back and then at the child standing opposite Mu Anxiao. He stepped forward and said, "Who are you?" As he spoke, he covered Mu Anxiao's mouth.

Mu Anxiao was still screaming intermittently.

The child looked at Mu Anxiao's terrified, wide eyes without speaking and swallowed.

Shen Yan sighed lightly and said, "Can you please stop screaming." He then removed his hand.

The next second, Mu Anxiao stopped screaming and pretended to be calm as she patted the child's shoulder. "What kind of environment is this? You coming out like this, trying to scare your brother to death."

"Big brother, you weren't like this just now." The child was startled by Mu Anxiao's sudden change.

"I..." Mu Anxiao swallowed with a dry throat and took out the leather flask from her bundle. "I was just practicing my vocal cords, don't misunderstand." As she was about to twist the cap open, the child reached out, snatched her water flask, opened it, and gulped down all the water.

Mu Anxiao maintained her gesture, looking at the child's actions with surprise and said, "You're too much."

"You're as bad as each other," Shen Yan said, glancing calmly at Mu Anxiao.

Mu Anxiao looked at the leather flask with heartache. "I couldn't even bear to drink it like that. You child are too much." As she spoke, she grabbed the child's wrist.

The child pursed his now not-so-dry lips and took the water flask with his other hand, handing it to Mu Anxiao. "Thank you, big brother."

Mu Anxiao's throat was dry. "You're too much, little brother," she said, releasing her grip, taking the flask, and shaking it. "It's all gone."
