Chapter 369 Resemblance

Mu Anxiao watched Feng Qishi’s retreating back with a sigh.

Hu Yuan’s mother stood up, looking anxiously at Feng Qishi’s departing figure. Just as she was about to step forward, Mu Anxiao extended an arm to block her. "You shouldn't bother with him."

"Is this really okay?" Hu Yuan’s mother asked Mu Anxiao.

Mu Anxiao pursed her lips and said, "Whether it's okay or not, he has his own ideas. You should accept his kindness."

Hu Yuan’s mother compromised when Mu Anxiao said this.

"Alright, you are all good people." With that, she sat down.

Mu Anxiao breathed a sigh of relief and turned to look at the emergency room door. "Don't worry, Hu Yuan will be fine."

"Mhm." Hu Yuan’s mother forced a smile, her heart still filled with worry.

"That..." Mu Anxiao thought for a moment and asked, "Why are you alone?"

"Huh?" Hu Yuan’s mother was taken aback by Mu Anxiao's question.

Mu Anxiao, seeing the surprised expression on Hu Yuan’s mother's face, quickly added, "I'm sorry, I forgot this is your family matter."

"It's alright, his father is on a business trip, so I came alone."

"Is his father good to him?" Mu Anxiao asked, thinking of Hu Yuan's pain.

Hu Yuan’s mother's eyes darkened. "Of course he is. No matter what, Hu Yuan is his flesh and blood. How could he not be good to him?"

"That's good. I just thought Hu Yuan's state was a bit off. I'm sorry."

"You know him?" Hu Yuan’s mother was surprised.

"Mm, I do, but we only spoke a few words," Mu Anxiao said dryly.

Hu Yuan’s mother smiled faintly. "That's true. If you didn't know him, you probably wouldn't have saved him, would you?"

Mu Anxiao lowered her eyelids and said nothing more.

At the elevator, just as Feng Qishi was about to enter with the food, Feng Mu came out of the elevator.

"You're here," she said, blocking Feng Qishi's path into the elevator.

Feng Qishi peeked at the closing elevator door and said, "Mm, I..."

"Your sister can't eat spicy food. You bought spicy food on purpose, didn't you?" Feng Mu said bluntly.

Feng Qishi frowned and said, "Don't misunderstand. This isn't for Feng Feng. Besides, Feng Feng has already eaten by now, and this isn't the inpatient ward."

"You're really a good brother, not taking care of your own sister but running to mind other people's business. Feng Qishi, you've gone too far." Feng Mu said sternly.

Feng Qishi was accustomed to his mother's fault-finding tactics and deliberately changed the subject. "How is Feng Feng?"

"Why are you asking that?"

Feng Qishi said softly, "If you don't want to tell me, then forget it." As he spoke, he stepped forward and pressed the button.

Feng Mu shifted slightly. "Your two older brothers have something to do tonight, and they'll be attending to your sister later."

"I know," Feng Qishi said, walking around Feng Mu and entering the elevator.

Feng Mu watched the elevator door slowly close, her eyes narrowed, and then she turned and left.

Feng Qishi stood in the elevator, looking down at the bag of food in his hand, and let out a cold laugh.

Outside the emergency room, the moment the doctor told Hu Yuan’s mother that Hu Yuan was fine, the worry in her heart subsided.

"I told you he'd be fine," Mu Anxiao said.

Hu Yuan’s mother smiled at Mu Anxiao.

At the same time, Feng Qishi arrived with the food. "How is Hu Yuan?"

Mu Anxiao turned to Feng Qishi and said, "He's fine. He'll be discharged soon."

"That's good," Feng Qishi said, walking up to Hu Yuan’s mother and handing her the bag. "Since he's fine, you should eat something quickly too."

"Thank you." Hu Yuan’s mother smiled at Feng Qishi.

Feng Qishi looked at Hu Yuan’s mother’s gentle expression and her meticulous care for Hu Yuan, and his heart sank.

Mu Anxiao looked at Feng Qishi's somewhat dejected expression and thought, He must be making a comparison. With that, she glanced at Hu Yuan’s mother.

Half an hour later, Hu Yuan was pushed out by a nurse.

Upon seeing his mother, a hint of displeasure appeared on Hu Yuan's face. "Why are you here?"

Hu Yuan’s mother wasn’t angry. She walked forward, crouched down, and looked at Hu Yuan. "Yuan Yuan, where do you feel unwell? Tell Mommy."

"Seeing you makes me feel unwell," Hu Yuan said coldly.

Mu Anxiao frowned at the way Hu Yuan spoke so rudely to his mother.

"Who is that?" Feng Qishi asked curiously in a low voice.

"Who else could it be but Hu Yuan himself."

"What about the wolf demon?"

Mu Anxiao glanced at Feng Qishi, stepped back a few paces, and whispered, "The wolf demon tried to be brave and channeled the resentment into a spell. He broke through Hu Yuan's forced attempt to avenge Ma Yan, and suffered a backlash. He's currently resting inside Hu Yuan's body."

"You lied to Zhang Yan, and the two of them combined?" Feng Qishi asked in surprise.

"Otherwise," Mu Anxiao said, "if we didn't trick that idiot, the wolf demon would be in even more danger."

"The wolf demon is a bad guy. If he dies, won't that make things easier for you?" Feng Qishi said.

Mu Anxiao stared at Feng Qishi's face and said, "It would save a lot of trouble, but I don't want him to die inside Hu Yuan's body, because that would only increase Hu Yuan's physical burden and hasten his end. What do you know?"

"What you're saying makes a lot of sense," Feng Qishi said with a smile. "However, I don't think Ma Yan would appreciate Zhang Yan's efforts."

"No matter how much is said, that guy Zhang Yan and I are still enemies," Mu Anxiao said coldly.

"In that case, I'll ask you for a favor tonight," Feng Qishi said with a smile.

Mu Anxiao narrowed her eyes at Feng Qishi's smile beneath his sinister expression and took a step back. "You better not say it."

"Why?" Feng Qishi frowned.

"What good thing could you possibly want to tell me?" Mu Anxiao glanced at Feng Qishi.

Feng Qishi clicked his tongue. "Why would you look at me like that? I'm offering good intentions, and you're taking it as a donkey's liver and lungs." He lowered his head.

"You say it," Mu Anxiao said, truly unable to stand Feng Qishi’s expression any longer.

Hearing this, Feng Qishi raised his face and smiled again. "Tonight, go and keep Feng Feng company."

"Did you just meet your mother?" Mu Anxiao asked.

Feng Qishi's smile faded. "You're really smart."

"I knew something was off about you. Did your mother say something unpleasant to you again?" Mu Anxiao added.

This time, Feng Qishi clearly became impatient. "Why are you asking so much?"

"It's nothing," Mu Anxiao said with a cold tone. She glanced at Hu Yuan, who was arguing with his mother, and said, "You and Hu Yuan are really alike." With that, she walked towards Hu Yuan.

Feng Qishi frowned and said, "Silly Mu, what do you mean by that? Explain yourself." He followed her.

Mu Anxiao ignored Feng Qishi behind her and walked to Hu Yuan’s mother's side. She looked down at Hu Yuan's displeased expression towards his mother and said, "Your mother rushed over as soon as she heard you were in the hospital. She was worried sick about you just now, and only ate a couple of bites after hearing you were okay. Isn't this going too far?"
