Chapter 190 The Wind Rises Without Status

"It's you again, Feng Qishi," the security guard said, glancing around. "You poor child. So handsome, and with such good prospects, yet you have a terminal illness. You..."

"I'm going to class," Feng Qishi interrupted.

The security guard smiled and used the remote to open the gate a crack.

Feng Qishi didn't even look at the guard as he walked toward the teaching building.

The guard turned and watched Feng Qishi's retreating back, shaking his head.

The Feng family was quite wealthy in L City, but because Feng Qishi's arrival was so ill-timed, everyone in the family was very unfriendly towards him.

One reason was his exceptional intelligence. The children of his relatives couldn't compare to him, and over time, everyone grew jealous. Even his mother, who called him son, treated him as a mere servant from a young age, summoning him when needed and dismissing him when not. His suspicious mother had long suspected he wasn't her biological son, even more absurdly believing her husband had sent their child away and brought Feng Qishi home from somewhere.

His father, the only one who sided with him, had told him all of this. Feng Qishi felt nothing upon hearing it. His childhood environment had forged a strong heart within him. He believed the only thing he could do now was to follow his mother's wishes, and once he graduated college, he would leave far away.

Returning to the classroom, it was already break time. As Feng Qishi lightly placed his backpack on his desk, the girl next to him quietly asked, "Has your condition improved?"

"Why do you ask?" Feng Qishi turned to the girl.

"We have an exam, and the teacher asked you to go to his office. And also," the girl smiled faintly, "aren't I concerned about you?"

"I don't like you," Feng Qishi said with extreme self-admiration.

The girl's face stiffened. She glared at Feng Qishi, withdrew her gaze, and rummaged through her textbook.

Feng Qishi sat down and looked at the classmates whose gazes were cast upon him, remaining silent.

At the school gate, Mu Anxiao glanced at the teaching building, then casually took out a round disk from her pocket and tapped it lightly. "Alright, I'll start looking for that guy from here."

"Who are you?"

Hearing the voice, Mu Anxiao calmly put away the disk and looked at the security guard who had asked. "I'm no one, just a passerby."

"You're not from our school, are you?" the guard asked from behind the gate.

Mu Anxiao looked at the guard inside the gate and said coldly, "No."

"If not, then leave quickly."

"You have no right to tell me to leave," Mu Anxiao said coldly.

The security guard seemed to have mistaken Mu Anxiao's identity. He hesitated and said, "Our school is a key high school, and the students here are the top scholars in L City. A delinquent girl like you has probably come to the wrong place."

"Do you have someone here named Feng Qishi?" Mu Anxiao got straight to the point.

Upon hearing Feng Qishi's name, the security guard's expression visibly froze for a moment. Then, he forced a determined tone and uttered two words: "No."

Mu Anxiao stared directly into the guard's face and said, "I understand." With that, she turned away.

The security guard breathed a sigh of relief.

Mu Anxiao glanced sideways, thinking: He's clearly lying, so if I just wait here, I'm bound to find something. She then slipped her hand into her pocket, touching the cold disk.

More than ten minutes later...

"Why haven't you left yet, young lady?" the security guard asked, looking at Mu Anxiao, who was sitting on the curb.
