"Is that so? I only feel like I've been through it once," Mu Anxiao said with a wry smile, standing up.
Feng Qishi asked, "What are you doing?"
"I'm going out for a stroll."
"Aren't you tired?"
"I'm afraid of you," Mu Anxiao said, turning her back and summoning her soul sword.
"What are you doing with your soul sword?"
"It's too dark here," Mu Anxiao said, raising her soul sword and looking around in its blue light.
Feng Qishi: "..."
Immediately, Mu Anxiao took two steps forward and sniffed the air. "Such fresh air."
"Fresh air?" Feng Qishi questioned. He stood up, walked to Mu Anxiao's side, and sniffed the air. "This place is full of dust. You say it's fresh? Mu, you silly girl, I'm scared you've gone mad."
"No," Mu Anxiao shook her head slightly, switching hands to hold the soul sword. With her other hand, she grabbed Feng Qishi's arm.
Feng Qishi was startled. "Why are you holding me?"
Mu Anxiao continued to stare straight ahead. "It smells the same as last night." She sniffed the air again.
"Smells the same as last night?" Feng Qishi's mouth twitched. "You remember the smells from last night?" He looked down at Mu Anxiao.
Although Feng Qishi had experienced many things, seeing Mu Anxiao in her current agitated state only made him feel eerie, nothing else.
"Shen, you madman," Mu Anxiao tightened her grip on his arm.
Feng Qishi frowned. "..."
"There's... a very powerful presence here," Mu Anxiao's voice began to tremble inexplicably.
Feng Qishi: "A powerful presence? Are you talking about me?"
"Don't be so narcissistic," Mu Anxiao said, listening to the whistling wind outside and glancing at the swaying window and door. She cleared her throat. "I think there's a great demon here."
"A great demon?"
"Yes. Until we find him, we must both maintain this fear."
"Why maintain the fear?"
Many times, Feng Qishi couldn't understand Mu Anxiao's thoughts, and this was one of them.
"Because," Mu Anxiao glanced at Feng Qishi, "only then can I let my spiritual energy buffer. If I use magic now, it will only be a waste."
"..."
"Can't you understand what I'm saying?"
"It's not that I don't understand. I just think you've said something pointless. And, I think..." Feng Qishi covered Mu Anxiao's hand with his own. "You really don't need to scare yourself. This is just ordinary wind."
Mu Anxiao: "..." Her gaze swept around the room with the light. "No, this is definitely not ordinary wind, because this wind... carries demonic energy."
Feng Qishi: "..."
Mu Anxiao said earnestly, "Really, there's demonic energy."
"You go ahead and be suspicious of yourself. I'm done playing with you," Feng Qishi said, withdrawing his arm from Mu Anxiao's grasp and returning to sit by the fire.
Mu Anxiao was stunned and turned to look at Feng Qishi. "Really, I feel something is wrong."
Feng Qishi tilted his face slightly. "One person scaring another, scaring them to death. If you die, you'll have scared yourself to death." As he spoke, he picked up a wooden stick, stirred the fire, and then looked up at the ceiling beams.
Mu Anxiao: "I really..."
"Are you going to rest or not? If you're not going to rest," Feng Qishi dropped the stick, "then just stand there and help me fan the wind. I'm going to sleep."
"You..."
"I'll count to three. If you come over, I'll help you fan the wind."
Hearing Feng Qishi's words, Mu Anxiao glanced again at the swaying window and door. "I'll sleep. You don't sleep." With that, she quickly put away her soul sword, ran forward, and sat beside Feng Qishi.
Half an hour later.
Mu Anxiao slept with her head on Feng Qishi's shoulder, hugging his arm, and mumbled incoherently, "Don't move. If you dare to move, I'll... kill you, you demon."
Feng Qishi: "..." He yawned and looked up at the green light on the ceiling beams, thinking, it should be right there.
As he thought, he looked down at the sleeping Mu Anxiao.
On the ceiling beams.
The green light circled the wooden pole, quietly watching Feng Qishi below, who was still awake and poking the fire with a stick. It muttered, "Damn it, still not sleeping."
At the same time, Mu Anxiao's ears twitched slightly, and then her eyes slowly opened. She whispered, "Shen, you madman, the ceiling beams."
Feng Qishi looked down at the arm Mu Anxiao was tightly hugging and whispered at close range, "I know."
Mu Anxiao was startled and whispered, "You know?"
"Yes. Have you rested well?"
"You deliberately let me rest."
"If you don't rest, you won't be able to defeat her at all. How do you feel now?"
"I feel much more energized."
"That's good. She's already impatient."
"You heard her?"
"I heard her," Feng Qishi nodded, dropped the stick, and whispered, "Close your eyes."
Mu Anxiao obediently closed her eyes.
Feng Qishi gently rested his face against Mu Anxiao's head and whispered, "Let me lean on you for a bit."
"Lean on me as much as you want," Mu Anxiao whispered back.
Feng Qishi's lips curved slightly upwards, and then he closed his eyes.
The green light didn't hear their conversation.
A few minutes later.
The green light watched the two below, who it thought were asleep, and smiled, transforming into green leaves and descending.
Feng Qishi thought, "Hold your breath."
"Mm," Mu Anxiao agreed and held her breath.
Then, the green light laughed unscrupulously twice and, along with the falling leaves, landed behind Mu Anxiao and Feng Qishi. "I didn't expect you to come to my territory. You're really seeking death." With that, it transformed into a woman in green and pulled out a long golden hairpin from her bun, approaching them slowly.
Mu Anxiao opened her eyes and thought, "She's coming."
Feng Qishi: "Don't move." He also opened his eyes.
Mu Anxiao glanced sideways. "Is it still that green...?"
"Yes."
"Didn't Xu Lan stop her?"
Feng Qishi: "Cooperate." He raised his head.
"..." Mu Anxiao let go of his arm.
"..." The woman in green was startled and stopped in her tracks. "They're awake."
Immediately, Feng Qishi pushed away Mu Anxiao's head that was resting on his shoulder.
The next second, Mu Anxiao pretended to fall sideways onto the ground and thought, "I can act now."
Feng Qishi thought, "Don't move." After giving the instruction, he stood up, turned around, and said with a playful smile, "Half... are you a lady?"
The woman in green: "..." She didn't understand.
Mu Anxiao lay on her side, remembering Feng Qishi's instructions, and decided not to act rashly.
"This is your territory?" Feng Qishi pretended not to recognize her.
The woman in green was confused. "Yes, this is my territory."
"It certainly looks like it," Feng Qishi said, looking at the woman in green's face with a smile. "You're very beautiful."
Hearing this, Mu Anxiao's lips twitched.
