Mu Anxiao ignored Shi Yi and said to Hun Ling and Xu Lanyan, "Let's go."
"Mm," Xu Lanyan agreed.
Hun Ling glanced at Feng Qishi and Shi Yi and secretly chuckled.
Shi Yi's face turned awkward.
And so, they set off again on the path to the Xiuxian Sect.
Feng Qishi and Shi Yi returned to the inn.
"You're back," the landlady said, emerging from behind the counter and walking towards them.
Seeing the landlady approach, Feng Qishi deliberately took Shi Yi's arm and said, "I like him."
"Huh?" The landlady looked surprised.
Shi Yi pulled Feng Qishi's hand away and said, "Don't listen to his nonsense."
"I'm not talking nonsense," Feng Qishi stated firmly.
Shi Yi sighed and looked at Feng Qishi, saying, "Others might not see it, but I do. Is Mu Anxiao making you do this to disgust me?"
"Mu Shazi doesn't have that much intelligence," Feng Qishi said, taking half a step back.
Hearing this, Shi Yi's expression turned serious: "Why are you doing this?"
"Mu Shazi is my guide. She can only follow me," Feng Qishi said, his eyes wide.
"Thinking like that is too selfish," Shi Yi said angrily.
Feng Qishi said nonchalantly, "Mu Shazi doesn't like you at all. You're always talking about liking, liking. Do you even know what liking is?" He pointed at Shi Yi's face. "Let me tell you, I've found you annoying for a long time."
Shi Yi's expression froze.
The landlady looked at Feng Qishi's angry expression and then at Shi Yi's stunned face, saying, "The way you're talking is quite unpleasant."
"I'm already being very restrained," Feng Qishi said, turning and walking to a table to sit down.
The landlady looked at Feng Qishi's retreating back, thought for a moment, and then looked at Shi Yi, "What are you really thinking?"
Shi Yi glanced at the landlady, turned, and walked behind Feng Qishi, saying, "I won't hurt her again."
"I don't understand what you're saying," Feng Qishi said, picking up his teacup.
"I will prove that I like her," Shi Yi said with conviction.
"The way you are now, even as a man, I find it irritating," Feng Qishi stated bluntly.
Shi Yi was rendered speechless.
The landlady walked behind Shi Yi and said, "I don't think you should be thinking about these things right now." She lowered her eyes and looked at the back of Feng Qishi's head, asking, "Is Mu Anxiao alright?"
Hearing this, Feng Qishi was startled and turned to look at the landlady, asking, "What do you mean by asking that all of a sudden?"
The landlady pursed her lips and said, "Not long ago, I saw a black shadow appear outside the inn."
"A black shadow," Feng Qishi repeated, suddenly standing up and saying, "You saw it."
"Mm," the landlady nodded.
"Really? Then..." Feng Qishi glanced at Shi Yi, "Did you know he planned to take revenge on Mu Anxiao?"
"What?" the landlady exclaimed in surprise.
Shi Yi quickly said, "She doesn't know. This is my own arrangement."
"That's good then," Feng Qishi said, sitting down and pointing to a nearby seat. "Sit down."
"I..."
"I know what you want to do. Sit down, let's talk," Feng Qishi interrupted.
Seeing this, the landlady turned and walked away.
Shi Yi lowered his gaze, took a step forward, and obediently sat beside Feng Qishi, asking, "How well do you know Mu Anxiao?"
"Better than you," Feng Qishi replied.
Shi Yi frowned, "If I'm not mistaken, you haven't known her for very long, have you?"
"Let me tell you a secret, but I hope you won't tell her," Feng Qishi said.
Shi Yi was taken aback, "We're not close. I'd rather you not tell me your secrets."
"I've already said it," Feng Qishi said, completely disregarding Shi Yi's avoidance.
"I'm not listening," Shi Yi shook his head.
Feng Qishi picked up his teacup and said, "I was reincarnated with my memories. Before that, I already knew Mu Anxiao. To put it crudely," he smiled at Shi Yi, "the way she is now is because of me." He pointed to himself.
Shi Yi's eyes darkened. "She likes you?"
Feng Qishi had never considered this before, but to discourage Shi Yi's persistent pursuit of Mu Anxiao, he hesitated and said, "Yes, she likes me."
Shi Yi's heart sank completely.
Feng Qishi said, "She doesn't know about me having memories, and I don't want her to know. I hope you," he smiled slightly, "won't say anything."
"I understand," Shi Yi nodded.
Feng Qishi smiled, "Thank you."
"I thought... she didn't have anyone she liked. After all this time," Shi Yi looked at Feng Qishi with a bitter smile, "the person she likes is you. Since that's the case, I won't say anything more."
Feng Qishi let out two awkward laughs, thinking: I hope this guy doesn't tell Mu Shazi about this, or it'll be awkward. With that thought, he swallowed.
Shi Yi looked crestfallen.
Feng Qishi reached out and patted Shi Yi's shoulder, saying, "Don't be discouraged. There will definitely be someone better waiting for you."
"I am a rat," Shi Yi said.
Feng Qishi was stunned for a moment and said, "Aren't you in a human body?" He pointed at Shi Yi.
Shi Yi sighed, "I'm a bit disappointed. How could she have such poor taste?"
"What do you mean by that?" Feng Qishi narrowed his eyes.
"No, no, no, no," Shi Yi chuckled foolishly.
"I'm better than you," Feng Qishi said, patting his chest forcefully.
Shi Yi forced a couple of laughs and casually picked up the teacup in front of Feng Qishi, saying, "I'll drink this."
"Go get yourself a new cup," Feng Qishi snatched the teacup back and placed it on the table with a clatter.
Shi Yi lowered his eyes and smiled, picking up the teapot and saying, "Since you're willing to tell me your secret, it means you consider me a friend. And if you consider me a friend, I should consider you a friend too, right? So, using one cup, it's fine." As he spoke, he filled the cup in front of Feng Qishi with water.
"You'd better not tell Mu Shazi," Feng Qishi said, pointing at Shi Yi and deliberately repeating himself.
Shi Yi picked up his teacup and smiled, "This is good tea."
Feng Qishi frowned, "If you don't answer, I'll take it as your tacit agreement."
Shi Yi remained silent, taking a sip of tea.
Feng Qishi sighed and turned to look at the landlady, asking, "It's so late, why aren't you resting?"
"If I rest, who will watch the shop?"
"What about those two?" Feng Qishi asked, looking around.
"You mean the ones from the Xiuxian Sect?" the landlady asked in return.
Feng Qishi nodded, "Yep, I mean them."
The landlady smiled slyly, "Those two looked extremely sleepy just now, so I let them go rest. It's better than them being listless tomorrow and annoying me."
"Your sleep isn't sufficient, is it?" Feng Qishi commented.
Shi Yi glanced at the landlady, then at Feng Qishi, "You should go to sleep."
"I'm not going," Feng Qishi shook his head.
"Why?" Shi Yi inquired.
"If I go to sleep, what if you secretly go find Mu Shazi?" Feng Qishi revealed his true thoughts.
