"She's proving her existence," Xu Lanyan said. Yu Xiaosheng
Feng Qishi frowned and looked at Xu Lanyan, "What do you mean by that?"
"She lost everything and became a complete waste. Her fifty years of glory vanished overnight. I think she must have found it unbearable, which is why she's become so mentally unstable," Xu Lanyan concluded, based on Mu Anxiao's earlier confrontational attitude.
Feng Qishi hadn't noticed it before, but hearing Xu Lanyan's summary, he recalled Mu Anxiao's erratic behavior since arriving, oscillating between aloofness and madness. He said, "I also think she's acting strangely. One moment she's incredibly responsible, the next..." He shrugged, "It's hard to describe."
"It feels like she's rejecting you," the green-clothed man stated directly.
Feng Qishi's mind went to Mu Anxiao's appearance moments ago, and he said, "She is indeed rejecting me."
"It's because you always dragged her into the spotlight. Over time, she lost her sense of security following you," Xu Lanyan pointed at Feng Qishi.
Feng Qishi rubbed the back of his head and said nothing.
Next door, Mu Anxiao sat opposite three rabbit spirits and Hun Ling, picking up her teacup. "Let's make our move tonight, what do you say?"
"There was a demonic aura outside just now, and I also heard the Vine Spirit speaking. If you act tonight, it might not be safe," Hun Ling said.
"Your ears are really sharp," Mu Anxiao said helplessly.
"Thank you for the compliment," Hun Ling bowed his head slightly.
The first rabbit spirit glanced at Hun Ling and said, "She wasn't praising you."
Hun Ling glared at the first rabbit spirit and looked at Mu Anxiao, "Are you really alright in your current situation?"
"Can you stop always saying 'my current situation' as if I'm some pitiable wretch?" Mu Anxiao said angrily.
Hun Ling's mouth twisted, unsure of what to say.
"What's wrong?" the third rabbit spirit asked Mu Anxiao.
Mu Anxiao looked at the third rabbit spirit's curious expression and said, "Nothing. We act tonight. You guys go back first, then open the door for us, and cooperate with Hong Yan to get me to the Rabbit Queen."
"As you wish," the third rabbit spirit agreed.
The second rabbit spirit, seeing Mu Anxiao's serious planning expression, was taken aback and asked, "What are you planning to do?"
"I was captured by you. You need to prove that Hong Yan is on your side, understand?" Mu Anxiao explained carefully.
After a moment of silence, they agreed.
Hun Ling looked at Mu Anxiao's serious demeanor and said, "Actually, you could wait until tomorrow to act."
"We can't delay any longer. That Vine Spirit is elusive. If we wait, it'll be pointless," Mu Anxiao said.
"You're right," Hun Ling agreed.
"Should we inform the young masters?" the first rabbit spirit asked.
Mu Anxiao sighed and looked at Hun Ling, "Don't tell Feng Qishi and the others."
"Why shouldn't they know?" Hun Ling asked, confused.
Mu Anxiao sighed again, "There are some things I don't want them to know."
"Alright then, you go find Hong Yan yourself," Hun Ling said.
"Hong Yan..." Mu Anxiao repeated, thinking of Hong Yan's relationship with the green-clothed man, and said, "This is really a troublesome matter."
"I don't think that green-clothed one will agree to Hong Yan going with you," the first rabbit spirit said.
Mu Anxiao hadn't considered it much before, but hearing the first rabbit spirit say this now, and recalling how the green-clothed man had kept Hong Yan at the tavern for protection earlier, her heart sank. "Then, I won't look for her."
"I think it's feasible. I'll just say I captured you," Hun Ling said excitedly.
"You're going too?" the first rabbit spirit exclaimed.
Hun Ling looked at the first rabbit spirit, "If you dare to say a word, I'm not done with you." His gaze turned cold.
"I won't say anything," the first rabbit spirit shook her head.
"Then, I'll say I went out specifically to capture you. How does that sound?" Hun Ling arranged it, believing it to be a sound plan.
Mu Anxiao nodded, "Okay, let's do that. But you must protect me thoroughly."
"No problem," Hun Ling raised an eyebrow.
As night fell, Mu Anxiao, fearing discovery if she used the main entrance, decided to sneak out through the window with Hun Ling and the others. However, things did not go as smoothly as she had planned.
"Come down, I can catch you," Hun Ling said, stretching his arms wide.
Mu Anxiao clung to the edge of the eaves, afraid to look back. "At this point, what are you boasting about? I can't even reach Hun Ling."
Hun Ling was startled.
Then, the three rabbit spirits lined up one after another, also stretching out their arms. The third rabbit spirit said, "We'll catch you."
At this moment, Mu Anxiao considered all the consequences. Clinging to the eaves, she suddenly felt her headstrong actions were rather ridiculous.
Inside the room, Hong Yan heard the commotion outside the window. "I think I heard Mu Anxiao's voice," she said.
"Silly Mu," Feng Qishi repeated, rushing to the window and opening it to look out. He saw Mu Anxiao clinging to the edge of the eaves and chuckled, "Silly Mu, what are you doing?"
"Save me, save me," Mu Anxiao shouted, tilting her face up.
Feng Qishi glanced down at Hun Ling and the three rabbit spirits standing below, then smiled. "Trying to act on your own, huh? Fine, I'll just pretend I didn't see anything."
Hearing Feng Qishi's words, Mu Anxiao became annoyed. "Just save me, why are you saying so much nonsense? Hurry up."
"Aren't you quite capable?" Feng Qishi asked, leaning out the window.
"I'm naive, alright?" Mu Anxiao yelled, trying to pull her upper body over the edge of the eaves.
Feng Qishi chuckled and said, "Alright, I can help you, but how are you going to thank me?"
"Hurry up, I can't hold on much longer," Mu Anxiao said, straining to reach up with her arms.
Seeing Mu Anxiao about to lose her grip, Feng Qishi sighed, straightened up, held onto the window frame, and leaped out.
Soon, Mu Anxiao was rescued.
Back in the room, Mu Anxiao sat on the floor, panting heavily.
Hong Yan walked up to Mu Anxiao and asked, "Are you alright?"
Mu Anxiao, breathless, looked at Hong Yan and shook her head.
"What were you trying to do?" Xu Lanyan asked, full of questions.
Mu Anxiao swallowed the dryness in her throat and said, "Never mind all that, could you please get me some water? Thank you."
The next second, Feng Qishi approached Mu Anxiao with a cup full of water, knelt down, and offered it to her. "Drink up."
"Thanks," Mu Anxiao whispered, reaching out to take the cup and draining it in one gulp.
"Now, tell us why you acted on your own," Feng Qishi said, staring at Mu Anxiao's face.
Mu Anxiao looked up cautiously, glancing at everyone present, and said, "I don't know. I just don't want to cooperate with you anymore."
