Chapter 593 A Fair Lady

Shi Yi’s eyes narrowed into slits.

The young man stiffened, then turned his head. “I just think she’s good-looking. If I were to take a liking to her… that hasn’t happened yet.”

“You think she’s good-looking?” Feng Qishi pointed a finger at Mu Anxiao.

Mu Anxiao gasped. “She’s not talking about me, she’s talking about *her*.” She moved aside and gestured towards Hong Yan.

Feng Qishi heard this, turned to look at Hong Yan, whom Mu Anxiao had indicated, and breathed a sigh of relief. “Oh, you scared me to death! I was wondering why your peach blossom luck had been so strong lately.”

“What peach blossom luck,” Mu Anxiao glanced at Shi Yi, “it’s clearly bad luck.”

“It certainly is unlucky enough,” Feng Qishi said, looking pointedly at Shi Yi.

Shi Yi glared at Feng Qishi, then smiled at Mu Anxiao.

Mu Anxiao pursed her lips.

Immediately, the man in green came up beside the young man. “Hypocritical,” he said.

“Who are you talking about?” the young man frowned and turned to face the man in green.

“Who do you think I’m talking about?” the man in green replied. He stepped forward and stood before Hong Yan. “Don’t pay attention to people like that from now on, alright?”

“Alright,” Hong Yan nodded with a smile.

“There’s a street performance in the market, want to go see?” Mu Anxiao suggested, turning sideways.

Feng Qishi heard Mu Anxiao and said, “You’re still in the mood to watch street performances? You’ve got a lot of nerve.”

“None of your business,” Mu Anxiao shot Feng Qishi a sideways glance.

Feng Qishi rolled his eyes. “Go ahead. I’m not going with you anyway.”

“Who wants you to go?” Mu Anxiao said, then looked at Shi Yi. “Going or not?”

“Going,” Shi Yi responded with excitement.

Feng Qishi furrowed his brow. “You’re like luring a snake out of its hole.”

“I like it,” Mu Anxiao said, thinking: Shi Yi probably hasn’t met many people. Maybe I can find him a girl in the crowd. Then I’ll be free.

Feng Qishi observed Mu Anxiao’s thoughtful expression and asked, “What are you plotting?”

“None of your business,” Mu Anxiao gave Feng Qishi a sideways glance and then looked at the young man. “Why are you looking at me?”

“I want to go too,” the young man said.

“Go where?” Mu Anxiao frowned.

“I…”

“Go where, go where? Go serve the dishes quickly,” the proprietress arrived behind the young man and said unceremoniously.

The young man stiffened and busied himself without another word.

The proprietress glanced at the young man’s retreating back. “Always trying to slack off. What a sly one,” she muttered.

Hearing the proprietress’s voice, Mu Anxiao suddenly asked, “Proprietress, do you have a husband?”

“Why are you asking that?” the proprietress looked at Mu Anxiao, who had suddenly asked the question, with interest and countered.

Mu Anxiao smiled. “You don’t look that old, do you?”

“Really?” the proprietress touched her face and smiled. “I don’t have a husband.”

“You don’t?” Mu Anxiao repeated, then turned to Shi Yi. “You’ve known him for quite a while, haven’t you?” She pointed at Shi Yi.

The proprietress smiled. “Yes, quite a while. Why are you asking?”

“Nothing much, just asking casually,” Mu Anxiao said lightly.

“Oh, then I’ll go back to work. You guys have fun,” the proprietress said, turning towards the counter.

Mu Anxiao lowered her gaze and thought. “Uh, Shi Yi, what do you think of the proprietress?”

“Why are you suddenly asking this?” Feng Qishi asked, confused.

Mu Anxiao glared at Feng Qishi, then looked at Shi Yi. “Tell me, what do you think of the proprietress?”

“She’s very good,” Shi Yi replied honestly.

“Very good,” Mu Anxiao repeated, lowering her gaze and smiling. “Okay, I know.”

Shi Yi smiled, not thinking much of it.

A quarter of an hour later, they gathered and left the inn. Mu Anxiao glanced at Feng Qishi walking beside her and asked, “Didn’t you say you weren’t coming out? What’s the situation now?”

“When did I say I wasn’t coming out?” Feng Qishi averted his gaze.

Mu Anxiao snorted and looked at Shi Yi walking on her other side. “Can you give me your birth date?”

“I don’t have one,” Shi Yi said softly.

“You don’t?” Mu Anxiao sighed.

Feng Qishi nudged Mu Anxiao with his elbow. “Why are you asking him that?”

“None of your business,” Mu Anxiao said, then turned to look at the approaching girl and leaned her head towards Shi Yi. “What do you think of that girl?”

“Who?” Shi Yi asked, looking down at Mu Anxiao.

“Don’t look at me, I said, across, across,” Mu Anxiao’s gaze followed the girl as she spoke.

The girl sensed Mu Anxiao’s gaze and awkwardly averted her eyes, brushing past Feng Qishi and walking away faster.

Immediately, Shi Yi glanced ahead, then looked down at Mu Anxiao. “Who?” he asked.

“You idiot,” Mu Anxiao muttered.

Feng Qishi looked down at Mu Anxiao and said, “You scared the girl away.”

“Did you see?” Mu Anxiao looked up at Feng Qishi.

Feng Qishi snorted. “You were like that, it would be hard not to see.”

“I didn’t even see,” Shi Yi said.

Feng Qishi glanced at Shi Yi and said nothing.

Ahead, Hong Yan walked beside the man in green, her expression unnatural as she dodged the gaze of the men ahead.

“Do you really dislike those people?” the man in green asked quietly, glancing at the men.

Hong Yan nodded.

“Then I apologize,” he said, suddenly reaching out and taking Hong Yan’s wrist.

Mu Anxiao saw this and blinked.

Feng Qishi’s eyes widened as he watched the man in green’s bold action. “What is my junior brother trying to do?”

“That works too,” Shi Yi said. He looked down at Mu Anxiao’s hand, his eyes darted, and then he pretended to be nonchalant and slowly extended his hand.

Mu Anxiao lowered her eyes. “If you dare touch me, I’ll make you lose all face here.”

Shi Yi heard this and quickly withdrew his hand.

Feng Qishi looked at Shi Yi’s frozen expression and laughed. “That one is a delicate young lady. You, on the other hand, are practically a tomboy. Shi Yi, I advise you not to challenge her.”

“My name is Shi Yi, not Shi Yi,” Shi Yi emphasized.

Feng Qishi chuckled and remained silent.

At the next moment, Mu Anxiao suddenly grabbed Feng Qishi’s arm. “Say that again if you dare.”

Feng Qishi looked down at Mu Anxiao’s hand and chuckled. “I wouldn’t dare, I wouldn’t dare.”

“You’re wise,” Mu Anxiao released his arm and pointed at Feng Qishi’s face.

Seeing this, Shi Yi deliberately said, “Tomboy, it actually suits you quite well.” As he spoke, he intentionally extended his arm.

However, Mu Anxiao’s attitude towards Feng Qishi and Shi Yi was completely different. The moment Shi Yi said that, Mu Anxiao suddenly stopped.

At the same time, Shi Yi and Feng Qishi also stopped.

Mu Anxiao looked up at Shi Yi and said with a serious expression, “Shi Yi, I don’t think you should be called Shi Yi.”
