“That’s true,” Feng Qishi deliberately agreed with the man in green, gesturing with his hand in front of him. “But she’s so young. Her body’s tolerance probably isn’t that strong, right?”
“You mean… she’s injured?” the man in green gradually realized and asked.
“I don’t know, but the way she looked, she didn’t seem tired, more like injured. And Mu Sha… the blood on Mu Anxiao’s hands doesn’t look like human blood.” Feng Qishi deliberately steered the man in green toward the crucial point.
“Not human blood…” the man in green repeated, furrowing his brow. “No, I should go and see.” With that, he stood up.
“I’ll go with you,” Feng Qishi also stood up.
The man in green remained silent, thinking of Hong Yan’s appearance. He turned, walked around the chair, and hurried to the door, opening it. “Senior brother, perhaps you shouldn’t go.”
“Why not?” Feng Qishi asked.
“This is between her and me. Don’t get involved,” the man in green said, stepping over the threshold and walking out.
Feng Qishi looked bewildered at the retreating figure of the man in green. He glanced down and muttered, “I didn’t say I wanted to get involved. When did my junior brother become so narcissistic?” With that, he shook his head and sat back down.
At the same time, the man in green stopped side-by-side with the waiter outside Mu Anxiao’s room.
“Young master,” the waiter called out, carrying two buckets of water.
“Take the water to the next room first,” the man in green said, pointing to the adjacent room.
The waiter gave an awkward smile and said, “Young master, isn’t it ladies first?”
“Listen to me, go,” the man in green said sternly.
Seeing the man in green’s serious expression, the waiter didn’t dare to argue about the location and nodded. “Alright then.” With that, he took a step back, turned, and approached the door of the next room.
The man in green glanced at the waiter’s back, then looked back, taking a deep breath. “Open the door,” he said, gently knocking on the door.
Inside, Mu Anxiao sat at the table, her face tilted as she listened to the sounds outside. She frowned and mumbled, “Why is the man in green here?”
“Open the door quickly,” the man in green urged.
Mu Anxiao glanced at the sleeping Hong Yan, stood up, and whispered, “Coming.”
Outside, hearing Mu Anxiao’s voice, the man in green lowered his hand.
Moments later, Mu Anxiao stopped in front of the door and asked, “What are you here for?”
“Let me in,” the man in green whispered.
Mu Anxiao lowered her gaze, then reached out, unbolted the door, and opened it a crack. “No, she’s sleeping.”
The man in green glanced at Mu Anxiao’s hand and said, “Your hand is healing quite quickly.”
“Yes, there was a lot of blood, but it was just a small cut,” Mu Anxiao said with a strained voice.
“Liar,” the man in green said, pushing against the door.
Mu Anxiao looked at the man in green’s action in surprise and asked, “What are you doing?”
“Let me in,” the man in green said softly, afraid of disturbing Hong Yan inside.
“No…”
“Don’t argue with me,” the man in green interrupted.
“I…”
“If you don’t let me in, I’ll send you to the deep forest right now to be fed to that dog-headed monster,” the man in green interrupted again.
Now, the thing Mu Anxiao feared most was hearing about the dog-headed monster. So, without daring to think further, she opened the door and stepped aside. “Come in.”
“That’s more like it,” the man in green said. He stepped over the threshold, walked two steps, and then suddenly stopped, looking at Mu Anxiao.
Mu Anxiao looked at the man in green staring intently at her face with confusion and asked, “Why are you looking at me?”
“She doesn’t want me to know she’s injured. If you’re here,” the man in green glanced toward the table, then back at Mu Anxiao, “when she wakes up, she’ll definitely think you told me. So, to prevent her from misunderstanding you, you should go out.”
“I didn’t tell you,” Mu Anxiao stated firmly.
“I can say that you told me,” the man in green suddenly threatened Mu Anxiao.
Mu Anxiao’s eyes deepened. “Who are you?”
“A good person. Go on out,” the man in green raised an eyebrow.
Mu Anxiao clenched her fist, glanced at the table, and said, “You’d better not let her go out with you.”
“You don’t need to tell me. I know,” the man in green said casually.
Mu Anxiao was speechless.
“If you’re speechless, then leave,” the man in green said, looking at Mu Anxiao’s face.
Mu Anxiao curled her lips, took two steps forward, crossed the threshold, and walked out.
“Close the door,” the man in green reminded her.
Mu Anxiao, with her back to the door, pouted her lips, then turned and pulled the door shut.
Immediately, the man in green pointed two fingers at the door panel, and the door automatically latched.
Mu Anxiao watched the green light from the crack in the door, and she instinctively clenched her hands, looking at the waiter emerging from the next room. “Why are you over there?” she asked, walking forward and glancing at the two wooden buckets in the waiter’s hands.
The waiter, fearing Mu Anxiao would again speak rudely, quickly explained, “That young master asked me to deliver to this side first. It’s not my fault.”
Mu Anxiao, seeing the waiter’s earnest expression, didn’t intend to make things difficult and nodded, saying, “I understand. You can go.”
“Okay,” the waiter nodded, turned, and quickly left.
Mu Anxiao sighed, looked up at Feng Qishi sitting at the table, and walked into the room without thinking, closing the door with a bang behind her.
“You’ll make people misunderstand if you do that,” Feng Qishi said, his back to Mu Anxiao.
Mu Anxiao clenched her fist, strode behind Feng Qishi, and said, “You promised not to say anything, but you’re still saying it. What do you mean?”
“I didn’t say anything. He guessed it himself,” Feng Qishi leisurely picked up his teacup and took a sip.
“If you hadn’t hinted, he wouldn’t have guessed,” Mu Anxiao said.
Feng Qishi chuckled, put down his teacup, turned to look at Mu Anxiao, and said, “Silly Mu, it seems that on your turf, your brain has become much sharper.”
“You’re more likely to mess things up than succeed,” Mu Anxiao glared at Feng Qishi and then sat down in the chair next to him.
“Would you like some tea?” Feng Qishi picked up the teapot.
“Yes,” Mu Anxiao glanced at Feng Qishi.
“Oh dear, what’s the matter? Why are you getting angry?” Feng Qishi smiled and handed the teacup to Mu Anxiao, then filled it with tea.
“He’s too arrogant. He asked me to close the door, and after I closed it,” Mu Anxiao picked up the teacup, “he used magic to lock it. It’s infuriating.” She then put down the teacup, feeling its heat.
“Why aren’t you drinking it?” Feng Qishi pointed at the teacup and asked.
Mu Anxiao blew on her hand and said, “It’s so hot. You drink it.”
“I thought you didn’t feel it,” Feng Qishi chuckled.
Mu Anxiao squinted at Feng Qishi and said, “Do you really have no memory of Shen Yan?”
Feng Qishi was surprised by Mu Anxiao’s question and awkwardly averted his gaze, retorting, “Why are you asking this?”
