Chapter 529 Their Last Meeting

"About that," the wolf demon said, his eyes fixed on the body on the sofa.

Seeing the wolf demon's astonished expression, the vine spirit said, "Watch this." With that, he floated to the body's side, and the chains around him once again emitted a dazzling light.

The wolf demon closed his eyes against the blinding light.

A few minutes later, the vine spirit's voice reached the wolf demon's ears, "It's done. Open your eyes and see."

Hearing this, the wolf demon obediently opened his eyes and looked at the person lying on the sofa, exclaiming, "You've changed his appearance to Hu Yuan."

"Yes, let's go," the vine spirit said.

The wolf demon looked down at his own clothes and, after a moment's thought, asked, "How am I supposed to walk?"

"I'll take you," the vine spirit replied. He floated in front of the wolf demon, and then wisps of misty light flew out from the chains, enveloping the wolf demon. The wolf demon lost consciousness.

When he awoke, it was already the next day...

In Zhang Yan's room, Mu Anxiao stood by the sofa, looking down at the wolf demon lying there. "Why hasn't he woken up yet?" she asked.

The vine spirit floated before Mu Anxiao's eyes and said, "Wait a moment."

"Alright," Mu Anxiao replied, then turned to Feng Qishi, who had just entered through the door, asking, "How did things go?"

"That impostor Hu Yuan has already been sent out of the hospital," Feng Qishi answered.

Mu Anxiao's eyes darkened. "Her mother must be heartbroken."

"She fainted. Fortunately, her child is fine," Feng Qishi said.

Mu Anxiao nodded and looked down at the wolf demon slowly opening his eyes. "How do you feel?" she asked.

The wolf demon, gazing vaguely at the ceiling, asked, "Where is this?"

"This is my place," Zhang Yan said, emerging from the bathroom.

Following this, the vine spirit consciously zipped into Mu Anxiao's pocket.

Mu Anxiao deliberately patted her pocket. The vine spirit whispered, "Don't move me."

Mu Anxiao pretended not to hear and patted it twice more, saying nothing.

The wolf demon sat up and looked around. "How long was I unconscious?" he asked.

"Not long, just one night," Mu Anxiao said.

The wolf demon nodded and asked, "What about that person?"

Mu Anxiao immediately understood the wolf demon's intention. She glanced cautiously at Zhang Yan beside her and said, "They've left."

"What are you talking about?" Zhang Yan asked.

Mu Anxiao and the wolf demon shook their heads in perfect synchronicity. Mu Anxiao said, "You should rest well."

"Right, how did you guys manage that?" Zhang Yan asked.

Mu Anxiao glanced at Feng Qishi.

Feng Qishi also glanced at Mu Anxiao and said, "It was me. I found a way by chance, and then I changed something into Hu Yuan's appearance. That's how I brought him out."

"That's quite impressive," Zhang Yan said with a smile.

Feng Qishi laughed. "Didn't I tell you I was very capable? You just didn't believe me."

Zhang Yan snorted lightly. "You're leaving tomorrow. What do you want to eat? I'll cook it for you. I'll go buy the ingredients now."

"Anything," Mu Anxiao said.

"And you?" Zhang Yan asked, pointing at Feng Qishi.

Feng Qishi gave an embarrassed smile. "Even if you gave it to me, I couldn't eat it."

"That's true," Zhang Yan nodded, turned, and headed out the door.

After Zhang Yan left, the vine spirit flew out of Mu Anxiao's pocket and said, "Let's go."

"You're afraid of him," Feng Qishi said, looking at the vine spirit in surprise.

The vine spirit replied, "Naturally. He's an immortal. I'm just a half-baked demon not yet accepted by the demonic path. Of course, I must be cautious in all matters."

"Master, he's half-baked," Feng Qishi said deliberately.

Mu Anxiao gave Feng Qishi a sidelong glance. "Half-baked is still better than you."

Feng Qishi pouted and said no more.

The fat, big-headed demon and the small demon glared fiercely at the chain. The small demon said, "I think you shouldn't help him."

"Why?" Feng Qishi asked, looking at the small demon.

"This guy is very cunning. Don't be fooled," the small demon said.

Then, the area around the chain began to glow. Seeing this, the fat, big-headed demon quickly pulled the small demon back and said, "Say less. We're leaving."

"You're leaving now?" Feng Qishi said.

The fat, big-headed demon released his grip on the small demon's arm and clasped his hands together. "This is the last time we'll see each other. I wish you peace in the future."

"That wish is a bit strange," Feng Qishi said.

The small demon looked at the wolf demon and said, "This body is hard-earned. Cherish it well."

The wolf demon, looking weak, glanced at the small demon, making no reaction.

The small demon didn't need a reaction from the wolf demon. He looked at the fat, big-headed demon and said, "Let's go, brother."

"Mhm," the fat, big-headed demon nodded, then clasped his hands with the small demon towards Mu Anxiao and Feng Qishi before leaving.

Immediately after, Mu Anxiao looked at Feng Qishi. "You really agreed to become a demon with me."

"Yes," Feng Qishi nodded.

The vine spirit looked at Feng Qishi and Mu Anxiao's firm expressions and thought about the events of his previous life. He thought, "It seems I'll have to take the wolf demon away quietly. These two following me are too much trouble. By then, when the wolf demon's powers recover, it will be another problem." Thinking this, he withdrew the green light surrounding the chains.

The wolf demon blinked weakly and asked, "Why do I feel so sad?"

Hearing this, Mu Anxiao looked down at the wolf demon and said, "It might be due to Hu Yuan's body. He felt uncomfortable hearing this, and it affected you as well."

"His body still has his consciousness?" the wolf demon asked.

"It's memory," Mu Anxiao said.

The wolf demon nodded and said, "I hope these memories don't affect me."

Mu Anxiao remained silent.

The vine spirit floated in front of the wolf demon and said, "I've helped you so much. Isn't it time for you to repay me?"

"What are you doing?" the wolf demon frowned.

Mu Anxiao looked at the dark green light around the chains and, without thinking, reached out and grabbed them. "What are you doing, Master?"

The vine spirit, surprised that Mu Anxiao had disobeyed and grabbed him again, said angrily, "Didn't I tell you not to touch me!"

Mu Anxiao looked at the chains and smiled. "Master, I've thought about it. It's not good for you to run around like this." Saying this, she handed him over to Feng Qishi.

Feng Qishi, with a smile in his eyes, reached out and took the chain. "Grandmaster, you'll stay put in my pocket," he said, stuffing the chain into his pocket and then casting a spell around it.

Mu Anxiao watched Feng Qishi's skilled movements and asked, "He can't hear us talking, right?"

"Don't worry, he can't hear. But," Feng Qishi smiled, "where did you learn this spell from?"

"You just use yours. Why are you asking so many questions?" Mu Anxiao deliberately averted her gaze.

The wolf demon looked at Mu Anxiao's reaction and thought about the spell Feng Qishi had just used. "You taught him demonic arts."
