"My name is Qu Tian."
"Qu Tian," Mu Anxiao repeated.
Qu Tian nodded and said, "I didn't expect you to know my cousin."
"Mm," Mu Anxiao didn't know how to respond, so she just did.
"If I had known you knew my cousin, I would have helped you out in the car today," Qu Tian said excitedly.
"If you had helped me, you probably would have made things worse," Mu Anxiao stated directly.
Qu Tian laughed.
Mu Anxiao's mind was filled with thoughts of Feng Qishi, and she couldn't bring herself to smile. She lowered her head slightly and asked, "Are you still going back?"
Qu Tian's smile faded. He glanced at Feng Qishi's hospital room and said, "I think I'll just stay. I'll call him later."
"You're afraid," Mu Anxiao guessed.
"It's not that I'm afraid. It's just that I don't have your courage to meddle in other people's family affairs. Of course," Qu Tian added, fearing Mu Anxiao might misunderstand, "I'm not saying you're being nosy. I mean, his family matters are quite complicated. If I were to help my cousin, I'm afraid it would cause trouble for my mother."
"I understand. You can go then," Mu Anxiao moved aside. xxs壹贰
"Let's exchange contact information," Qu Tian suggested.
Mu Anxiao's eyes darted away slightly as she said, "Sorry, I don't have a mobile phone."
"You were just on the phone in the car. Now you're saying you don't have a phone? That's too unbelievable!" Qu Tian called her out.
Mu Anxiao looked at Qu Tian's expectant gaze as he waited to exchange contact details and said, "No, this phone isn't mine."
"You..." Qu Tian uttered a single syllable. Remembering that Mu Anxiao used a feature phone, he asked, "Did you lose your phone?"
"Mm," Mu Anxiao replied casually.
"Then tell me after you get a new phone," Qu Tian decided for her.
Mu Anxiao remained silent and pointed in the direction of the elevator lobby.
Qu Tian looked at Mu Anxiao's pointing finger and said, "It's fine. Since you know my cousin, we're friends when we meet." With that, he turned and walked away.
Mu Anxiao let out a sigh of relief, then turned her head to look at the spirit child standing beside her and asked, "Why are you following me?"
"I feel Feng Qishi is particularly pitiful," the spirit child said.
"I haven't seen you pity anyone else," Mu Anxiao said, crossing her arms in front of her.
"His identity is different. He is Shen Yan's reincarnation," the spirit child whispered.
"You know Shen Yan?" Mu Anxiao was surprised.
"Of course. He helped me a lot before he reincarnated. I am a little spirit who remembers kindness."
"What did he help you with?" Mu Anxiao asked.
"Oh, him," the spirit child smiled mysteriously, "I won't tell you."
"Fine, if you won't tell me, I don't want to hear it anyway," Mu Anxiao glared at the spirit child.
The spirit child chuckled to himself and crouched down, saying, "You should go see him. I have a feeling his condition isn't good." With that, he vanished.
Mu Anxiao looked down at the spot where the spirit child had disappeared and sighed, saying, "I want to, but his family is all here. How can I go in?" As she spoke, she looked around with great difficulty.
"Old immortal, what are you doing?"
Hearing the voice, Mu Anxiao looked towards the wolf demon approaching her and asked impatiently, "Why are you here?"
"I'm going to the restroom," the wolf demon said.
"Don't you have a bathroom in your room? Why are you running up here?" Mu Anxiao asked.
The wolf demon snorted lightly, "Where I want to go is my freedom. You can't control me." He raised his cane and then put it down.
Mu Anxiao looked down at the wolf demon leaning on his cane and snorted, "Wolf cub, you're too weak. No matter how old and immortal I am, I don't need a cane." With that, she walked past the wolf demon.
The wolf demon slowly turned to look at Mu Anxiao's retreating back, rolled his eyes, and said, "Old immortal, weren't you going to compete with me? Why are you leaving?"
Hearing this, Mu Anxiao stopped in her tracks and, turning halfway back, looked at the wolf demon and said, "You weren't around when I was looking for you, but now you're coming to find me. It's really laughable, wolf cub."
"I'll wait for you," the wolf demon said, pointing his cane at Mu Anxiao.
Mu Anxiao glared at him fiercely, turned around, and continued walking forward.
Following her, the big-headed fat demon and the short demon appeared beside Mu Anxiao after confirming the spirit child was gone.
"Where are you going now?" the short demon asked, walking beside Mu Anxiao.
Mu Anxiao glanced at him and headed towards the elevator lobby.
Moments later, Mu Anxiao walked out of the hospital building and arrived at the pavilion, saying, "Let's think of a way."
"What's wrong?" the big-headed fat demon asked cautiously.
Mu Anxiao sat on the stone table in the pavilion, thinking of Feng Qishi's pitiable appearance just now, and said, "How do you take a person away from this world?" As she spoke, she looked at both of them.
The big-headed fat demon and the short demon shook their heads, not understanding.
"I mean, I want to take Feng Qishi away. How should I do it?" Mu Anxiao asked again.
The big-headed fat demon was startled, "You mean you want to take him to the place where you live."
"Mm," Mu Anxiao nodded.
Seeing Mu Anxiao's serious expression, the big-headed fat demon smiled foolishly, "We really need to rack our brains to figure this out."
"Yes," the short demon agreed.
Mu Anxiao looked up and sighed. Just as she was feeling troubled, her phone rang.
"Answer it," the short demon exclaimed excitedly.
Mu Anxiao glanced at the short demon, took her phone out of her pocket, and hesitated for a moment before answering, "Hello."
"Did you agree?" Feng Qishi asked hoarsely.
Mu Anxiao lowered her eyelids and retorted, "If you leave with me, you'll never see your family again. Are you truly willing?"
"It doesn't matter if I'm here or not in this family. I've thought about that for a long time," Feng Qishi said softly.
Before, Feng Qishi's voice on the phone was always boisterous. Now, hearing his weak tone and recalling what had just happened, Mu Anxiao asked without hesitation, "Are you alone in the room?"
"Mm," Feng Qishi replied.
Mu Anxiao said, "Wait for me. We'll talk when we meet."
Feng Qishi didn't speak and hung up the phone.
Mu Anxiao took down her phone, jumped off the stone table, and said, "I'm going."
"We..."
"You wait for my news. The matter with the wolf demon has been resolved," Mu Anxiao said, walking out of the pavilion and running towards the hospital building.
Soon, Mu Anxiao arrived outside Feng Qishi's hospital room, panting. Just as she was about to enter, a dull pain suddenly struck her chest. However, thinking of Feng Qishi's condition, she endured the discomfort and knocked on the door.
Inside the room, Feng Qishi called out, "Who is it?"
"It's me," Mu Anxiao replied.
"Come in," Feng Qishi called again.
Mu Anxiao tugged at her clothes with one hand and grasped the doorknob with the other, opening the door and walking in.
"Close the door."
"Okay," Mu Anxiao replied as if everything were normal, then turned to close the door and asked, "Where are they?"
"They've all left," Feng Qishi said.
