Chapter 2031 Attached Demonic Qi

“A grown man like you, weeping and sniveling,” Feng Qishi said, offering Song Xu a smile, “doesn't look too good, does it?”

“What do you mean I have bad intentions, Shen-xiong? Are you listening to her words?” Song Xu retorted, pointing his finger directly at Mu Anxiao's face.

Seeing this, Mu Anxiao deliberately turned her face away.

Liu Ye continued to hide behind Mu Anxiao, not daring to utter a single word.

Immediately after, Feng Qishi followed Song Xu's pointing finger, glancing toward Mu Anxiao, and chuckled, “My friend here just likes to joke. You really don’t need to get angry because of her,” he said, walking up to Song Xu and patting his shoulder, “It’s not worth it.”

However, Song Xu had been pestering them for a while, wanting to know Mu Anxiao's identity. So, when Feng Qishi said that, he was momentarily stunned. “Is she really your friend?” he asked, his tears instantly receding.

Feng Qishi nodded.

Song Xu knew Feng Qishi wasn't one to lie. On the contrary, in all the time they had known each other, Song Xu had never heard Feng Qishi deceive him. (Of course, even if Feng Qishi had deceived him, he wouldn't have known.) Thus, the moment he saw Feng Qishi's reaction, he slowly shifted his gaze to Mu Anxiao.

Upon hearing this, Mu Anxiao turned her head, fixing Song Xu with a smug look.

Seeing this, Song Xu frowned. “No way, Shen-xiong, you’d befriend someone so uncouth?” he said, turning his gaze back to Feng Qishi.

Feng Qishi frowned. “Why are you looking at me?”

“Disbelief,” Song Xu replied, shaking his head.

Feng Qishi was speechless.

Conversely, Mu Anxiao walked directly in front of Song Xu and deliberately said, “Let’s be frank. You wanted to complain about me, right? Go ahead.” With that, she handed the wine pot to Feng Qishi.

Feng Qishi took the wine pot without a second word, as if it were his due.

Then, Mu Anxiao deliberately crossed her arms in front of her.

Seeing Mu Anxiao's posture, Song Xu became wary. “Are you trying to provoke me?” he asked. He could tell that Mu Anxiao and Feng Qishi had a decent relationship, but his own relationship with Feng Qishi wasn't quite as good. He figured it was better to restrain himself.

Mu Anxiao gave a light laugh. “It’s precisely because it’s boring that I want to find something to do.” As she spoke, the corner of her mouth curved upwards.

Song Xu was left speechless.

Liu Ye watched them nervously, not daring to make a sound.

Suddenly, Feng Qishi became curious about what had happened between the two of them. “How did you two meet? What’s going on between you two?” he asked directly.

Listening to Feng Qishi's string of questions, Mu Anxiao deliberately fixed her gaze on Song Xu's face.

Song Xu met Mu Anxiao's eyes, then hesitated before saying, “We met like this. There’s nothing worth mentioning about the process,” he said with a dry laugh, looking at Feng Qishi. “Shen-xiong.”

Mu Anxiao continued to watch Song Xu, who was suddenly unwilling to speak the truth, with her arms crossed. She let out a cold laugh and said, “Shen Moyun, I truly didn’t expect you to meet someone like this. You’ve really opened my eyes.” As she spoke, she stared at Song Xu.

Feng Qishi asked, “What do you mean?” looking at Mu Anxiao.

Mu Anxiao glanced at Song Xu, shrugged her shoulders, and said, “It means nothing. You two chat, I’m leaving.” After speaking, she glanced at Liu Ye and left first.

Seeing Mu Anxiao leave, Liu Ye quickly said to Feng Qishi, “Your servant withdraws,” and then also left.

After Mu Anxiao left, Song Xu breathed a sigh of relief and smiled at Feng Qishi, saying, “Shen-xiong’s residence is indeed better than mine.”

“Didn't you refuse to enter my residence? What got into you today?” Feng Qishi asked directly.

Song Xu laughed. “I just followed that person in. Honestly, she doesn’t seem like your friend at all.”

“Then what does she seem like?” Feng Qishi deliberately retorted.

Hearing Feng Qishi’s words, Song Xu chuckled and said, “Like a servant.” He then took a step back, fearing Feng Qishi might hit him.

Immediately after, Feng Qishi let out a soft snort and said, “I think you’re like a servant, too.” Then, he suddenly sensed a demonic aura, causing him to quickly look around, his brow furrowed tightly.

Seeing this, Song Xu chuckled. “Shen-xiong, what’s wrong? Why are you being so jumpy?”

Hearing this, Feng Qishi immediately turned to look at Song Xu. Before he could even speak, he sensed a demonic aura emanating from Song Xu. “Song Xu, where did you go?” he asked. He could tell that this demonic aura was merely attached to Song Xu.

Hearing this, Song Xu froze. “Why the sudden question?” he asked with a bitter smile.

Feng Qishi replied, “You must tell me.” His nerves were on edge, not for any other reason than that there were already many demonic souls in the mansion. If there were more demons, it would be troublesome. Therefore, to control the development of such matters, he had to ask clearly.

Song Xu knew that whatever Feng Qishi wanted to know, Feng Qishi would use various means to force it out of him. If he resisted or prevaricated, Feng Qishi would eventually get angry.

Therefore, to avoid offending Feng Qishi, he honestly replied, “I went to the inn.”

“The inn?” Feng Qishi repeated, recalling Song Xu’s usual behavior. “Was there a woman?” he asked.

Song Xu was startled by Feng Qishi’s intuition and lowered his head.

Seeing this, Feng Qishi said calmly, “It seems there really was a woman.” He understood that the demonic aura attached to Song Xu might very well have been brought back from that inn.

“I just went for tea today, and also…” Song Xu confessed softly, thinking for a moment, and then blurted out, “To be honest, Cao Gen and I met there.”

“Cao Gen went there too,” Feng Qishi stated calmly.

Hearing Feng Qishi’s casual reply, Song Xu said, “You’re not surprised she went to that place?”

“I told her to buy wine at the best inn. What’s so surprising about that?” Feng Qishi said, raising the wine pot in his hand in front of Song Xu.

Seeing this, Song Xu smiled. “So that’s how it is.”

“Well, if there’s nothing else,” Feng Qishi said, pointing toward the door, “I won’t see you out.”

The doorman, having heard the voices from inside, turned sideways. Just as he was about to open the door, Song Xu’s voice was heard, “I don’t want to leave now. If it’s alright, I’d like to look around.”

Hearing this, the doorman lowered his hand.

Then, Feng Qishi’s helpless response could be heard, “Stay with me, don’t wander off on your own.”

“No problem,” Song Xu said with a smile.

After they finished their conversation, the doorman slowly turned back to his original position, letting out a sigh of relief.

At this point, Song Xu had already happily caught up with Feng Qishi’s pace.
