Chapter 1212: Special bloodline

Chapter 1212: Special bloodline

After this altar was crushed, there was a wave of mana that surrounded the piece of the armadillo’s shell.

This piece of the armadillo’s shell floated up into the air before moving over to where Weiss’ avatar was standing.

It floated there in front of him for a bit before he suddenly reached out to grab it and put it away. It was as if it suddenly disappeared into thin air with the way that he made it disappear like that.

There wasn’t even a single trace of its aura left after Weiss grabbed it.

After a moment of silence, Weiss suddenly asked, "Are you disappointed?"

As he said this, he turned to look at Haku.

Hearing this, Haku snapped out of her daze and she quickly shook her head as she said, "Father, I would never be disappointed. This was something that you obtained and if it wasn’t for your help, there’s no telling what would have happened today."

Weiss gave a chuckle before saying, "I’m sure that you would have found a way to deal with this fragment. It would be different if it was the main body of that Outer God, but you certainly would have been able to handle this fragment."

Haku was surprised to hear this before quickly bowing her head to say, "Father, you overestimate me."

Weiss said with a shake of his head, "You’re one of my most outstanding children, there’s no denying that."

Haku slowly looked up with eyes that seemed to be sparkling after she heard this, but Weiss’ avatar seemed to have lost interest in her. Instead, he turned to look at Lin Fan.

When Lin Fan saw Weiss’s avatar looking at him, he lowered his head as well.

But then he didn’t expect Weiss to suddenly say, "Are you disappointed as well?"

Lin Fan was even more surprised to hear this, but then he shook his head to show that this wasn’t the case.

Weiss’s avatar didn’t say anything, but it was clear by the way that he looked at Lin Fan that he didn’t believe him.

Because of this, it seemed like Haku was also glaring at Lin Fan.

However, Lin Fan didn’t say anything as he continued keeping his head down.

In the end, Weiss’ avatar broke the silence by saying, "I’ll take this thing for now. It’s more useful to me than it is to you since I need to show it to the other gods as well."

Turning back to look at Haku, he said, "I’ll send you your reward through the usual channel. You have done very well this time."

"Yes father." Haku said in a calm voice, but anyone that saw the look in her eyes could see that she was excited.

It wasn’t just Haku alone, the rest of the dungeon cores were all loyal to Weiss who was the one that had created them. They treated him like he was their real father, though it wasn’t as if that was wrong since he created them.

Other than that, Weiss looked at Lin Fan and said, "Give him the child."

Haku was surprised to hear this and seemed like she wanted to say something, but she held back her words in the end.

With a flick of her hand, the flame cage that held the young Mist Lord floated over to where Lin Fan was.

That young Mist Lord had been silent since Weiss crushed the altar, but now that it was in this situation...

"Wait, I can serve you! As long as you let me live, I’ll follow you!"

This young Mist Lord no longer had the same arrogance as before since it knew that it couldn’t remain as arrogant as it had been previously. After all, if it remained as arrogant as before, the only thing that would happen is that it would die.

As such, the young Mist Lord didn’t have any hesitation in submitting.

Its life was the most important thing right now, nothing else mattered other than being able to live.

It was just that no one was interested in sparing this young Mist Lord.

Even if it had been guided by its parent to do all those things, it was still a fact that it had done all of those things. The things that the young Mist Lord had done really couldn’t be forgiven.

"Crush it and extract its bloodline." Weiss said after Haku brought the young Mist Lord over.

The young Mist Lord immediately fell silent as if it couldn’t believe what it was hearing, but it didn’t get to say anything in the end.

"Yes, father." As soon as Haku said this, she closed her hand.

With her hand closing, the flame cage around the young Mist Lord also closed and the young Mist Lord was crushed in that flame cage.

When Haku opened her hand again, all that was left was a drop of blood in the center of the flames when it was released.

It didn’t make sense that there was just this drop of blood that was left, but this drop of blood came down to Lin Fan.

It didn’t seem like Haku was happy about giving this drop of blood to him, but she still followed Weiss’ orders to give this drop of blood to him.

Lin Fan reached out and took the drop of blood, using his own spiritual sense to keep it in this form when in reality this was the essence of the young Mist Lord’s bloodline.

After taking it, he looked confused since he didn’t actually know what to do with this.

"Give it to one of your contracted beasts. They will find a use for it."

Lin Fan couldn’t help narrowing his eyes when he heard this, but he soon relaxed those eyes since he knew that there wasn’t anything that he could really hide from a god.

If a god wanted to find out something about him, it should be as easy as waving his hand.

So Lin Fan didn’t bother reacting and just gave a simple nod in response.

After he took this drop of blood, Weiss just said, "All of you should prepare yourselves. It doesn’t seem like this incident is simple since there’s an Outer God involved. If they even dare come to this world after leaving it, then there must be someone behind them."

All of them couldn’t help revealing strange looks when they heard this.

After all, the other side was a god...

Weiss had already said that Haku wouldn’t be a match for the Outer God if their true body was here, so why was he telling them this now?

It wasn’t as if they would be able to do anything if the Outer Gods did arrive in this world.

"You’re thinking too little of yourselves. It isn’t as if they’ll be here as soon as you think they will be. You’ll still have time to become stronger."

Looking at Haku, he said, "You are one of my finest creations, so I’ve always had expectations of you."

Haku was once again caught off guard hearing this since she didn’t expect Weiss to suddenly praise her like this. But then her eyes lit up and she revealed a solemn look before saying, "Father, I will not let you down."

Weiss gave a nod before saying, "You never have."

Then turning to Lin Fan, he said, "You have something that I’ve never seen before, which I’m expecting a lot out of. You were able to give birth to two dungeon cores that never should have been after all."

The way that he said this was different from how he addressed Haku.

Unlike Haku where he was just saying some perfunctory words, it was clear that there was an interested tone that was in his voice as he said this. It was almost as if he was looking at some kind of experiment with the way that he said this.

It made Lin Fan feel a chill run down his spine even though it should be praise that Weiss was giving him.

Too much contact with a god was never good...

Even if the system was something that was created by a god, that didn’t mean that it would be able to hide all traces of itself from another god. If the gods were to find the system, then would they think that Lin Fan was an invader that had been sent by the Outer Gods?

If they thought this, then there was no doubt that Weiss would no longer treat him the same way.

It wouldn’t be strange if he would capture Lin Fan to use as some kind of experiment.

At the same time, Lin Fan could see the way that Haku was looking at him.

That look of envy, it would be something that all of the dungeon cores would feel if they knew what Weiss said about him.

It was still Rokuko who was the best as she looked at him with a look of awe.

Once Weiss had finished saying what he had to say, he gave a simple nod before suddenly starting to disappear.

"Become stronger, you’ll need that power when the time comes."

That was the last thing that he said before disappearing.

Haku narrowed her eyes to look at Lin Fan once more, but then she said with a snort, "There’s nothing left for us here. We’re leaving."

Lin Fan followed behind Haku as they were leaving, but there was something else that was on his mind.

"What if I really am something that was sent to invade this world by an Outer God?"
