After he finished resting for a bit, Arthur headed into the dungeon.
During this time, Lin Fan and Rokuko had been carefully watching over everything that he did.
While Lin Fan was certain that there wasn't any danger from this 'hero' showing up in this place, he still couldn't let his guard down. So the only thing that he could do was watch over this hero to see what he would do.
At the same time, he was curious about the power that this hero possessed.
After all, this hero had the blessing of a god.
The blessing of a god was not something that would be given that easily, so there must be a reason why this hero had received it.
At the same time, it wouldn't be something normal since it was something that came from a god.
That was why Lin Fan was curious just what this hero could do.
Not long after the hero entered the dungeon, he immediately encountered some monsters. But the moment that he encountered these monsters, he didn't pull out a weapon like one would expect.
Instead, he pulled out what seemed to be a harp.
It was hard to imagine what this hero was planning to do with this harp, but he soon showed them.
The monsters soon fell to the ground after the hero started playing his harp. With the way that they collapsed to the ground, it seemed that all of them had fallen asleep.
It was strange how they all fell asleep at the same time, but this seemed to be the power of this hero. Through the song that he sang, he was able to make all of the monsters fall asleep.
At the end of his song, there was a sharp note that suddenly followed.
With this sharp note, the necks of all the monsters suddenly started to spurt blood before their heads were severed from their bodies. It was as if there was an invisible blade that had severed their heads like this.
It was almost like there was a blade of sound that cut them down.
"What happened?" Rokuko asked in a confused voice when she saw this, but Lin Fan didn't say anything as he continued observing this.
After watching for a bit, he finally said, "As expected of a hero that has the blessing of music."
"What do you mean?" Rokuko was surprised to hear this, but Lin Fan didn't say anything.
In the end, Rokuko could only look through the reports to see if she could find what Lin Fan was talking about. However, she couldn't find anything about this since there was no mention of a blessing of music.
It just said that there was a blessing from a god, but there was no mention of music.
So in the end, Rokuko could only look back at Lin Fan with a confused look.
However, Lin Fan was only interested in seeing what the hero was doing.
After finishing off these monsters, he picked up the loot that they dropped and threw them into a subspace storage. After that, he seemed to play another song even though there were no monsters around.
But the way that he looked around as he played this song made it seem like he was playing this song for a reason.
After playing this song for a while, the hero finally moved in a certain direction.
This dungeon was created in the style of a maze, so it was made to confuse those that entered. Unless they properly mapped where they were going, it was hard for those that entered this dungeon to find their way out.
However, it didn't seem like the hero was lost at all.
The way that the hero moved showed that he was filled with confidence. The way that he moved was as if he knew exactly where he was going.
Lin Fan knew that this was because this was indeed the case.
It was the echo from the music that he played that allowed him to know exactly where he was going.
In a sense, he was using something that was similar to the echolocation that bats used to find his way through this dungeon. Though what he was looking for wasn't exactly the end or the exit of this dungeon.
After walking for a while, the hero arrived at one of the monster nests in the dungeon.
When he walked in, the hero wasn't surprised by the number of monsters that appeared around him. The only thing that he did was strum the harp that was in his hand as he faced these monsters.
The same thing happened where the monsters all suddenly fell to the ground and lost consciousness.
It seemed that the music was still effective against them even though there were so many of them here. It seemed that regardless of how many there were, they would fall asleep as long as they heard the music.
"That harp should play a role in this. That harp definitely is not an ordinary harp."
As Lin Fan said this, he narrowed his eyes to look carefully at the harp.
"As expected, it's a relic from a god. That's why it has this much power to affect all of the monsters like this. But it's not a full relic with the full power of a god. It seems to draw from the power of the god's blessing that's inside of him to show this kind of power."
Rokuko once again looked at Lin Fan with a confused look on her face, but Lin Fan continued to stare at the hero on the screen.
However, it wasn't as if he was completely silent.
"Is that relic usable?" Lin Fan was talking to his system in his mind.
After all, this was a relic that came from a god, so it was impossible that it didn't have a trace of divine energy in it. If it had a trace of divine energy, then it was something that the system could use to improve itself.
It wasn't as if there was only a single hero in this world.
The Adventurer's Guild should have records of the different heroes that were out there.
If these heroes really proved to be filled with divine energy, then they certainly would be useful to Lin Fan. Perhaps he could find a way to deal with some of the problem heroes and recover some divine energy for the system.
The stronger that the system was, the more assurance that he would have that he would be able to keep himself safe.
With the new things that were happening, the only thing that he could trust at this point was his own power.
But in the end, it turned out that this wasn't the case.
"No, it's not possible to extract full divine energy from the heroes or the relics that they use. These are fragments of the gods' power that they have given to these heroes, but they are still only fragments in the end. Even if they were combined, they still wouldn't be powerful enough for the system's uses." The system said in the same mechanical voice.
However, Lin Fan couldn't help feeling that what the system said was strange even though it used the same mechanical voice.
He felt that there was something else in the system's voice when it said all of this…
But since the system's words were firm, it really didn't seem like there was anything that Lin Fan could do about this.
Since there wasn't anything that he could get out of the hero…
"Just let the hero do what he wants in the dungeon. It doesn't seem like he's planning on doing anything to harm you nor does it seem like he wants to cause trouble with the dungeon. So it's fine to let him take a few things and leave."
Rokuko still had a worried look on her face hearing this, but since Lin Fan seemed certain about this…
She just turned back to look at the screen after he said this, as if she wanted to keep watching over the hero to make sure that the hero wouldn't do anything else.
Lin Fan had lost interest in the hero once he learned that the heroes were nothing more than fragments of the power of the gods. If this wasn't something that he could use, then he wouldn't bother with them.
After all, there were more important things to take care of.
Though before leaving, Lin Fan made sure to add, "Be sure to tell Haku about how you feel about all of this. After all, she's the one that sent the hero here to harass me."
Rokuko was surprised to hear this, but she gave a firm nod in the end.
She had been so worked up about the hero that she never thought of this.
This was also what Haku had assumed would happen when she sent the hero.
In a way, it was to distract Rokuko from everything that was happening.
But since she sent the hero here to harass Lin Fan, the only thing that he could do was cause a bit of trouble for her. Even if she was supposed to be focused on the Kalos Empire, he would still get a bit of payback against her.
At the same time, Lin Fan started thinking about how to find more divine energy to increase the power of the system.
Right now, that was the most important thing since there was no telling when the Outer Gods would arrive to attack this world.
