Chapter 205: Chapter 205 - Shadow Familiar Crystal
Once again, 1 purple gleamed among them.
"Fire!"
The crowd erupted in cheers, their excitement unwavering despite the Rank-S still not appearing.
But Atlas wasn’t worried. He only needed 40 more pulls to guarantee it.
And he could hardly wait.
He tapped the ticket, and a sleek, well-crafted bow materialized before him.
[You have received 1 Rank-A Weapon: Whisperwind Arc]
Atlas recognized it immediately. The same bow he had previously given to Zara.
But with several bow users among his subordinates, this weapon would definitely find a worthy wielder.
He held it up, then turned toward the crowd. "Still excited?"
A wave of responses burst forth:
"Hell yeah!"
"Keep rolling!"
"We’re not stopping until we see that Rank-S!"
"My Lord, go all in!"
Atlas grinned. They were just as fired up as he was.
Another 10 gold tickets, bringing the total to 50. The Rank-S pull was getting closer, and Atlas could feel the anticipation building.
He watched intently as the colors flickered in the air. Brown. Brown.
His expression tensed. "Come on... give me something good."
Then, a soft glow, Purple!
"Fire!" the crowd shouted, voices rising with excitement.
Another Purple!
"Fire!"
Atlas smirked, but the next set made his smile falter. Brown. Brown. Brown.
He exhaled sharply, then focused on the last few tickets. "Red. Please... just one red."
But the next ones were Brown. Brown.
Then, Purple!
"Fire!" the crowd roared again.
Atlas shook his head, though he couldn’t help but grin. Three Purples. Not bad, not bad at all. Without wasting time, he tapped the first Rank-A pull.
A bright white aura flared up, illuminating the area. Then, carrots. Carrots floated in the air, scattering around him like golden confetti.
"What?" Atlas blinked, confused. For a moment, the crowd froze, processing what they were seeing. Then, whispers spread like before someone screamed, and realization hit all at once.
A translucent figure began forming in front of him. A woman with long ears, standing gracefully, her outline glowing faintly.
[You have received Rank-A Character: Mira Springfoot - Blossom Reaper]
"MIRA!!" The crowd erupted into cheers.
Another notification flashed before Atlas.
[Your subordinate Mira Springfoot has received an upgrade from this pull.]
Atlas raised an eyebrow. No memory dive this time? The upgrade was instant? Interesting.
The golden card floated toward Mira, glowing softly before merging into her. The rabbit girl, standing near the front, blinked in surprise as her body started glowing faintly. She lifted her hands, flexing her fingers as if trying to feel the changes.
After a moment, she giggled. "Thanks, My Lord!" she called out, flashing her usual bright smile.
The crowd exploded into celebration, clapping and cheering.
Atlas chuckled, watching Mira bounce excitedly. "Looks like someone just got stronger. Let’s keep going."
The night was far from over!
[You have received Rank-A Item: Shadow Familiar Crystal]
[Summons a spectral raven to scout.]
Atlas raised an eyebrow as a dark crystal materialized in his hand, faint tendrils of shadow curling around it. Another familiar summoning item?
It was tempting to keep, having a spectral raven for scouting sounded useful. But scouting wasn’t his role. He was always on the front lines, leading, fighting.
This was better suited for someone else.
Atlas glanced toward the crowd, his eyes landing on a familiar figure. "Veylor."
The wolf beastkin, clad in sleek black armor, lifted his head at the call. Without hesitation, he made his way to the stage, moving with the grace of a seasoned hunter.
As he reached Atlas, he bowed slightly, accepting the crystal with both hands. "My Lord, I appreciate this."
Atlas gave him a nod, watching as Veylor descended the stage, blending back into the crowd as if he had never stepped into the spotlight at all.
[You have received Rank-A Item: Blink Gauntlet]
[Dashes 10 meters in an instant.]
The moment he saw it, a grin stretched across his face. Now this was an item he wanted.
The lightweight gauntlet hovered before him, crackling faintly with energy, designed for instant bursts of speed.
Without hesitation, Atlas reached out and claimed it. "This one’s mine."
A brief silence, then the crowd erupted.
"Hah?! That’s not fair, My Lord!"
"We suffer through gacha too, you know!"
Atlas laughed, shaking his head. "Relax, relax. If Edrik thinks someone else needs it more, he’ll take it from me."
That immediately changed their reactions.
"OHHHHH LET’S GOOO!"
Laughter and cheers exploded through the festival grounds, shifting the mood right back to excitement.
Atlas simply smirked before pulling out another set of golden tickets. That made it 60 pulls total. The Rank-S pull was getting closer.
Atlas rolled the tickets between his fingers, eyes gleaming.
"Alright... am I really going to need to hit all 80 for the guaranteed pull?"
The crowd buzzed with anticipation as he tossed the next 10 golden tickets into the air.
Only one purple!
"Fire!" The crowd still shouted, but Atlas could only exhale heavily, running a hand through his hair.
His luck was getting worse.
Only 20 pulls left before the guaranteed Rank-S... and he still hadn’t hit it naturally.
At this rate, he’d have to use every single pull just to secure the character. And worse, he still needed to pull for the exclusive weapon. It was unlikely he’d have enough resources for that now.
His chest tightened, frustration creeping in. "Damn it... this is rough."
A notification flashed.
[You have received Rank-A Item: Bloodfang Choker]
[Increases dark magic potency.]
The item materialized midair, a sleek, blood-red choker with faint, pulsing energy laced around it.
Atlas scanned the description, then turned to the crowd. "Dark magic boost."
That caught his attention.
He did use dark-element abilities. But he wasn’t the only one. Morganna, Milo, Kurogasa, there were others who could make good use of this.
For now, he stored it away, deciding to figure out the best match later.
Then, shaking off his frustration, Atlas turned back to the crowd, raising his voice.
"Still excited?"
A brief pause, then a wave of cheers erupted.
"PUSH THROUGH, MY LORD!"
"RANK-S OR NOTHING!"
Atlas grinned despite himself. Even if his luck sucked, at least the energy was still high.
"Alright. Another 10 gold tickets! Please, Rank-S!"
He threw the tickets into the air, his heartbeat pounding as they spun in slow motion, catching the festival lights before their colors began shifting one by one.
Brown.
Brown.
Brown.
Brown.
Brown.
The atmosphere tightened. The noise faded into silence, all eyes locked onto the floating tickets, tension wrapping around the crowd like an unspoken force.
Atlas’ fingers curled into tight fists, his breath held without him realizing.
Then, finally, one shifted.
Purple!
"FIRE!!!" The crowd erupted.
Atlas exhaled sharply, barely relieved. He was one step away from the guaranteed Rank-S, but at this point, he didn’t want to settle for a pity pull. He wanted to get it naturally.
"Come on... just once. Give me luck just this once!"
The next tickets burned away. Brown. Brown. Brown.
And then. The final ticket.
It didn’t change immediately.
Instead, it lingered in midair, trembling, flickering with unstable energy, as if the system itself was hesitating.
The crowd held their breath. Everyone, Atlas, his subordinates, even Luna and the others, stood frozen, their gazes locked on the last ticket.
Atlas felt his pulse hammering against his ribs, anticipation clawing at him.
And then, it happened.
The glow shifted, deepened. Until it flared bright, unmistakable red!
For one split second, silence hung in the air.
Then, the entire place exploded.
"FIIIIIIREEEEEE!!!!"
