Chapter 99: 099
The warm smell of toasts and scrambled eggs were the first thing that woke Tristan up.
Hesitantly, he opened his eyes and stared silently ahead before a voice interrupted his trance-like moment.
"Hey, it’s morning". Trevor said softly and gently moved the covers down his torso.
Tristan frowned at the familiar and yet strange voice. Like a velvety and smooth honey, it was gentle but also got him alarmed.
Turning sharply to his side, he was startled to see Trevor staring at him with a smile.
"You were very worn out, so I let you sleep a lot longer but you should be hungry too". He informed him leisurely and brought the tray of food in front of him.
Tristan watched in a dazed silence, although his memory wasn’t serving properly he can vaguely remember how his scent filled his lungs when he had helped into the car.
"Eat this". Trevor said like he was talking to a child.
Tristan nodded but his hand hovered above the food for a few seconds before it dropped on his leg again.
The last few days have passed in a buzz, although it had felt like eternity when he was with Azier and now that he was out he only wants one thing.
"You don’t like it? I cooked it myself because I live alone. It might not really taste nice but I promise you won’t die if you eat it". Trevor hurried to say as he watched his disinterest in the food.
Trying his best to lighten the mood even if he was dying to ask what happened to him and why he was in the middle of nowhere barefooted and cold.
But he was scared to ask because he has no idea if he wants to share or if it would be invading his privacy to do so.
After he said that, Tristan remembered he was indeed at his home.
"I’m sorry for the inconvenience, I would leave immediately if–
"Do you have any where to go?" Trevor asked, cutting him off. He stared straight at him and Tristan swallowed nervously.
"I do not mind you being here, it’s too empty and lonely most of the time anyways". He said, gesturing to the large room.
"Let me check on something outside, I will be back". Trevor said and excused himself.
Tristan watched him hurry out and smiled ever so slightly before he turned his attention to the food.
He ate slowly and gently, the food didn’t taste bad but when he returned with a glass of milk. A glance at the glass suddenly brought tears to his eyes.
It reminded him of Alpha Mitch and how he would bring him random glasses of milk when he least expected.
Now, if he was asked he can’t even explain what happened.
His heart felt heavy and he missed him so much, he is just confused he was not taken there and to Nita’s place instead.
"What happened?
You don’t like it?" Trevor asked in a worried voice and went into an internal panic after seeing his eyes pooled with tears.
Tristan shook his head and accepted the glass of milk and immediately drank at a go.
He flashed him a smile once he was done.
Trevor left with the dishes and he returned, he was asleep again, he sat down beside him on the bed with a sad expression.
He stared at the faint mark on the side of his neck, it wasn’t there in the past and he now wondered who marked him.

Tristan woke up later to realise he had fallen asleep, he climbed off the bed and was slightly surprised by the big and oversized clothes he had on.
He hadn’t even noticed them earlier on.
He carefully ventured out of the room, making minimum noise. He walked down the small space linking to a living room and was surprised to see Trevor watching television.
He turned to look in his direction and his features broke into a wide smile as he noticed him.
"Hi". Tristan said nervously. Trevor tilted his head to the side and narrowed his eyes while trying to figure out why he looked awkward.
He stood and went to him since he wasn’t moving, he bent slightly to look at his face. He then his hand and Tristan let out a soft gasp in surprise.
"You are no longer cold. That’s good.
Come here". Trevor nodded towards the couch and Tristan followed wordlessly as his kindness seemed unexpected judging by the way they had parted at school.
But unknown to him, Trevor was curious and a bit worried about him.
But he was determined to look after him and nurse him back to health before they talk about anything else.
The image of him in thin and wet clothes, barefooted and visibly disoriented was still grinding in the core of his mind.
And he also wanted to ask where was heading to or rather who he was going to at that time but as curious as he was, he said nothing and only let silence accompany both of them as they watched the show they both weren’t interested in.
Tristan felt out of place but also thankful, and he knew that the only reason he helped him was because he liked him.
"I would have loved to take you out for a movie or something but things are quite unstable outside right now since the recent feuds between the Alpha Kings.
At the mention of Alpha King, Tristan turned to him sharply.
"You aren’t aware?" Trevor continued with a slight frown.
Tristan shook his head but his eyes silently urged him to start the conversation he started.
"Well, I don’t really know the details but Alpha King Mitch was captured or abducted or whatever a few days ago. It has shaken the whole country and a lot of people are worried since things are not running well.
A war could break out at any moment from now". He explained with a shake of his head.
Tristan didn’t pay attention or even care about the rest of what he said and only heard the first part.
"He was captured?" He thought and immediately stood up.
"What is it?" Trevor asked, his eyes studying him from head to toe to see if any was wrong.

Nita was restless through the next few hours Alpha Raul spent looking for Tristan, it was almost like he had vanished into the thin air.
The futile attempts to find him filled her with guilt, she shouldn’t have left him alone through the night.
"I should have stayed with him". She thought in deep regret.
Alpha Raul returned again and she stood up from the chair immediately but only to get disappointed when he walked inside alone.
"You still can’t find him?" She asked in a trembling voice.
He groaned and rubbed a hand on his face.
"Why do I even care about them? Pack a small bag, we are leaving in ten minutes!" He ordered in an irritated voice. He looked beyond worn out, his clothes were wrinkled and dirty. He hadn’t slept properly or had a good meal in the last two days.
And he has done all these for someone that they had spent the better part of their lives fighting each other.
"Leave? Why? What if he returns while I’m gone?" Nita returned in a strained voice.
She could not understand the reason for the sudden need to leave her apartment.
And once again she let out her stubborn side as the two of them grew frustrated.
Alpha Raul glanced briefly at her and cussed under his breath.
"I need you to be in a safe place and where I know no one would dare to harm you". He said through gritted teeth.
"Well, I have lived here for almost five years now. All alone and I haven’t died yet or gotten attacked." She yelled, losing her control.
He groaned and rolled his eyes at her.
"No! Thank you, I’m not leaving until I find Tristan and make sure he is fine!" She snapped again on top of her voice.
"I don’t care what happens, if the sky falls then so be it". She went into her room immediately after she was done pouring out her heart.
"Fine, if that is what you want. Then do it. Make sure not to regret it later." Alpha Raul said and walked out of her apartment without looking back.
Nita held back tears from the frustration that had triggered her anger. She sat down heavily after he was gone and the tears threatened to spill as she had no idea what to do.
To her surprise, the door opened again not more than two minutes later and Alpha Raul walked inside.
He stared at her in silence for a few seconds and she looked up at him from behind wet lashes.
Bending to scoop her out of the chair, he headed towards the door. Hauling her like she weighed nothing.
"Let me go!" She said in a shaky voice and struggled to get out of his hold.
He didn’t budge and carried her out to the car, he unlocked the car and dropped her inside.
"You better sit still". He warned in a low voice and disappeared into the building again.
He emerged again with a small bag and Nita almost died of shock as she opened it to see her personal things with her undergarments and panties in the mix.
"You won’t return for a long time, you will need them". He said in an emotionless voice but that still didn’t stop her face from burning up with embarrassment.
