Jiang Nan Fang Zhan Bei Jue

Chapter 264 The Heartless Ex-Wife

Back at the company, it was well past office hours.

The entire technical department, however, was displaying a relaxed attitude. Some were eating breakfast, others were drinking coffee, and some were chatting.

Normally, Vice President Gao would have been furious seeing such a scene.

But now, he walked in with a gentle expression and clapped his hands at everyone.

"Five minutes, everyone. Finish whatever you're eating or drinking."

"If there's any work that needs to be handed over, keep your phones accessible and stay in touch via WeChat."

"Then, bring your laptops and follow me."

Everyone was bewildered.

Why was he so happy today?

Bringing their laptops and following him collectively? Where were they going?

"To see Engineer Jiang," Vice President Gao said sarcastically, seeing their confused faces.

"She just took on a new project from State Grid, and she needs you now, doesn't she? I'm coming along to help her out."

Everyone was even more stunned.

They couldn't figure out where Vice President Gao had heard this news from, or why he was saying such things.

However, not a single person dared to step forward and ask what was going on.

They could only follow him to Huatai, filled with apprehension.

Upon smoothly entering Jiang Nan Fang's office, seeing Vice President Gao arrive with a group of people, she initially thought he had come to settle scores with her.

Jiang Nan Fang had already prepared in her mind how she would speak to Vice President Gao.

But as soon as he saw Jiang Nan Fang, he extended his hand with a smile.

"Engineer Jiang, you're short-handed for a new project, why didn't you tell me?"

"With our friendship, isn't there anything we can't discuss and resolve amicably? Why go to such lengths to secretly contact them?"

"President Zhan has already agreed to our collective help. Hurry, arrange seats for everyone."

"Whatever needs to be done, we'll take your instructions!"

They were here to help?

And President Bei Jue Zhan had sent them?

Jiang Nan Fang looked at Vice President Gao in disbelief. "What do you mean by that?"

"Literally," he replied.

Vice President Gao, at that moment, resembled a disingenuous "green tea" guy, each word dripping with affected sincerity.

"President Zhan really did send us. If you don't believe me, call him and ask."

"President Zhan said he knows you've just taken on a new project and are short on staff, so he's asked us to help until your project is finished. Isn't that thoughtful?"

It was indeed quite thoughtful.

So thoughtful, in fact, that it made Jiang Nan Fang feel disgusted.

He was clearly trying to atone for the matter with Ke Teng.

Now that he knew he was no longer human and had wronged Ke Jing Yu, he wanted peace of conscience?

It was too late.

With these small favors, he couldn't possibly make her feel grateful.

"I never asked any of you to help," Jiang Nan Fang said coldly.

"What I need is a united and stable technical department, not temporary staff."

"Since President Zhan is so considerate of me, sign your employment contracts now and become Huatai's people. Stay with us."

Vice President Gao's smile instantly vanished.

"We already said we'd help you until the project is finished, why sign contracts?"

"Not only you need us, but Grey does too. Engineer Jiang, President Zhan has gone far enough to show you respect. You shouldn't push it too far."

"Just because you don't want to be Huatai's people doesn't mean others don't."

Jiang Nan Fang didn't mince words.

"I've already agreed with them to sign agreements and stay long-term."

"If you're willing, then don't leave today. I'll welcome you with applause."

"If you're not willing, leave now. Go back and tell Zhan Bei Jue that I secured everyone here through my own capabilities."

"Everyone came willingly, it's not his favor, and it has nothing to do with him. He shouldn't expect my gratitude."

Vice President Gao truly couldn't understand what had happened between the two of them.

Zhan Bei Jue repeatedly conceded, yet Jiang Nan Fang was relentless.

He could only force a smile and make a call to Zhan Bei Jue, asking for his instructions on what to do now.

Zhan Bei Jue hadn't expected Jiang Nan Fang's heart to become so hardened.

She wouldn't give him any opportunity to prove himself, determined to make him face consequences.

Since she liked the technical department's people so much, and there wasn't much he could do for her at the moment, let them sign.

Vice President Gao exploded on the spot.

"I've worked at Zhan Corporation for over half my life, how can I betray them now? What kind of person would that make me?"

"I will not sign this contract no matter what! I, Gao, would rather die than be a traitor!"

Zhan Bei Jue: "Then you come back, and let them stay."

After hanging up, Vice President Gao felt deeply troubled.

He quietly asked Jiang Nan Fang, "How have you become like this?"

"We used to get along so well as colleagues, I never offended you, why are you so ungrateful?"

Jiang Nan Fang's expression was blank, refusing to engage in a heart-to-heart.

"Vice President Gao simply didn't know me deeply before. I've always been this way."

Zhou Jin Bei was probably the most pathetic bride in the world.

There was no second.

On her wedding night, Jiang Si Cheng brought his boyfriend to sleep in the bridal suite, leaving her to sleep alone in the guest room.

Not only did she have to listen to the two of them laughing and carrying on all night next door,

but she also had to pretend everything was normal the next morning, linking arms with Jiang Si Cheng as they went downstairs for breakfast.

At the dining table, Mrs. Jiang looked at her young and beautiful daughter-in-law and enthusiastically asked for a bowl of bird's nest to be brought to her.

"Cheng'er isn't young anymore. Your father and I are eager to have grandchildren. Since you two are already married, start taking care of yourselves and have a baby soon."

"I asked someone to specifically prepare nourishing soup for you. You'll drink it every day from now on."

"Here, my dear, drink it while it's hot."

Jiang Si Cheng and Kai Ge were nearby, pretending to discuss work but secretly exchanging glances.

She had no appetite to care for herself, nor the mood.

Just as she was about to refuse, Jiang Si Cheng moved away from Kai Ge and leaned towards her, as if they were affectionate, scooping a spoonful and offering it to her lips.

"Aren't you going to thank Mom for thinking of us? Drink up."

She could only say thank you with disinterest and drank the revolting bird's nest.

Jiang Si Cheng then pretended to be loving and wiped her lips.

"I knew my wife was the most obedient."

"Mom, I'll take Bei Bei out later, we won't be eating at home for lunch, so don't wait for us."

After breakfast, the three of them went upstairs together to change.

Zhou Jin Bei asked Jiang Si Cheng where he was taking her.

"To the hospital."

"We just got married yesterday, why go to the hospital?"

Jiang Si Cheng shamelessly replied, "To get a check-up."

"Mom wants you to get pregnant quickly, right? Ours is a bit more complicated than usual, we need to prepare in advance."

"I don't know what your physical condition is like, don't we need to get checked beforehand?"

One cannot refuse when one has eaten someone's food.

If you've spent someone's money, you have to be dictated to.

Zhou Jin Bei could only go to the hospital with him.

Jiang Si Cheng had already made an appointment, and they went to different departments separately.

After a series of examinations, they sat down to hear the doctor's analysis of the results.

The doctor looked at their medical reports and then at their ages, pushing up his glasses in confusion.

"Why do you need to undergo IVF? You're both so young, and your bodies are healthy, so you're not infertile. Why take a roundabout route?"
