Jiang Nan Fang Zhan Bei Jue

Chapter 881 Offending Someone

Lu Jiaying persisted, and Director Li, unable to fob her off, had to let her work overtime.

It was the lunch break, and the employees were all resting, with all the lathes idle. Director Li chose a suitable one, pushed the adjustable trolley to the mold rack, found the corresponding mold, and pushed it to the lathe.

He needed to unload the original mold and replace it with this one.

As he said, it was not only a time-consuming task but also physically demanding.

The lightest lathe weighed 16 tons, and the heaviest weighed over 60 tons. The one chosen was 24 tons. Without help, he found it quite strenuous.

Lu Jiaying, seeing Jiang Jingyu, who was tall and well-built, standing idly by watching someone change the mold, couldn't help but nudge him with her toe.

"So lacking in observation? Go help."

Director Li, over 50 and nearing retirement, was holding a heavy adjustable wrench weighing more than ten pounds. After turning a few screws, he grew tired.

Mistaking Jiang Jingyu for a new intern, he handed the wrench to him and let him take over.

Jiang Jingyu, dressed in a white shirt and black trousers, adopted a horse stance with his long legs, listened to Director Li's instructions, and began to tighten the lathe screws.

Seeing the Zhan family's young master in a suit dismantling a mold in front of a lathe, Lu Jiaying inexplicably found the scene both harmonious and amusing. She couldn't resist sneakily taking a couple of photos and sending them to Jiang Nan Fang.

Yesterday, Jingyu had not behaved well at home, and truthfully, Jiang Nan Fang had been a little worried.

But seeing him so cooperative today immediately improved her mood.

She praised Lu Jiaying a couple of times and then told her, "Don't feel sorry for him; make him work hard. Use the authority you have to make him do whatever is needed. Bear with it."

Lu Jiaying knew Jiang Nan Fang was doing this for the children's benefit, so she agreed.

After one mold was dismantled and installed, Director Li brought the materials over and asked Jiang Jingyu to sit down, intending to teach him how to operate the lathe.

After completing the first process, they changed the mold again and started the second, third, and fourth.

During the one-and-a-half-hour lunch break, while others were fast asleep, they were working tirelessly.

They were not only covered in sweat but also got machine oil all over themselves.

When the work bell rang, everyone came to work refreshed. Seeing him, they all looked at him as if he were some rare specimen.

Jiang Jingyu looked at his dirty self and then at Lu Jiaying, who was leisurely drinking tea in Director Li's office, thinking this woman was too much; she was treating him like cattle.

Director Li called Lu Jiaying out, "The parts are ready. Go upstairs for assembly."

Lu Jiaying brought the parts over, inspected them, found no major issues, and swaggered out, telling Jiang Jingyu to follow her with the items.

The parts were covered in oil, and Jiang Jingyu's hands were dirty. "I'll wash my hands first."

"No need. You'll get them dirty again upstairs. Just carry on like this."

Jiang Jingyu, using a dirty box specifically for loading materials onto the lathe, carried the parts and followed her into the assembly workshop.

The director of the assembly workshop found them a place to sit and brought the various necessary parts.

Lu Jiaying stood leisurely with her back against the assembly line table, letting Jiang Jingyu assemble the parts by himself.

Coincidentally, right after the quarterly meeting, Hu Jiasheng, after reviewing the documents submitted by department heads, came to inspect the factory. Accompanied by the deputy general manager of production, he also arrived at the assembly workshop.

Because they were unfamiliar faces and not wearing work clothes, and their appearances were too striking, Hu Jiasheng and Vice President Wang noticed them as soon as they entered.

Hu Jiasheng was unaware of Jiang Jingyu's internship at the company, but he could guess most of it from the situation.

He walked directly over. Upon seeing him, Lu Jiaying straightened up, greeted him respectfully, and then tapped Jiang Jingyu's shoulder, signaling him to stand up.

"This is our company's Executive President, Mr. Hu, and the Deputy General Manager of Production, Mr. Wang. This is the assistant I just hired."

When their eyes met, Jiang Jingyu felt a bit embarrassed.

His white shirt was stained with oil, and his hands were dirty. He was being bossed around like a fool tightening screws, and now his uncle was here.

Dressed in fine clothes and appearing composed, he made himself look even more unsightly.

"Hello, Mr. Hu. Hello, Mr. Wang."

Hu Jiasheng nodded, not paying them much attention.

"Alright, you carry on with your work. I'm just looking around."

Lu Jiaying told Jiang Jingyu to sit back down and continue working. However, after Hu Jiasheng had taken a couple of steps, he turned back.

"Xiao Lu, do you often come to the factory in person?"

Lu Jiaying reported, "Not particularly often. Occasionally. Sometimes I come to supervise foreign trade samples. Today, I came for a batch of foreign trade orders."

"Oh. Based on your experiences each time you visit, are there any areas in the production department that need improvement?"

Vice President Wang was standing right beside them. To say there was nothing to improve would be disingenuous; no one is perfect, and it would be difficult to explain to the superior.

However, pointing out issues would clearly offend him.

Lu Jiaying glanced at Vice President Wang, who smiled and spoke diplomatically.

"It's alright. President Lu, please feel free to offer any suggestions. We are here to observe problems and identify them. You are addressing the issue, not the person. I'm not so petty as to hold a grudge over this, hahaha."

Lu Jiaying also smiled. "If I were to mention any issues, from my personal perspective, there are indeed some, but they could be considered major or minor."

She recounted what had just happened and then said.

"I hope that Mr. Wang will enhance the quality awareness in the production department. Besides safety, quality is the lifeblood of production. If the attitude of the leadership is so lax, wouldn't the employees be even more exaggerated? Then, what quality can the products have?"

Vice President Wang had only been speaking politely to her; he hadn't expected her to actually provide concrete examples.

Listening to her words, Vice President Wang's expression shifted from a cheerful smile to an awkward one, and finally to embarrassment.

Hu Jiasheng's expression, however, remained unchanged.

"The issue Xiao Lu raised today is very typical. It can be noted down and used as a case study during the next quality meeting. Mr. Wang, do you think she has a point?"

Could Vice President Wang say she didn't have a point?

"Yes, yes, yes. President Lu is absolutely right. It's all due to my inadequate management. I apologize. I will immediately organize quality training for all staff upon returning and will definitely improve the quality awareness of the entire production department."

"Good, then I will look forward to seeing your performance. After the quality meeting, write a summary report for me."

Hu Jiasheng finished speaking and continued his tour. Watching Vice President Wang and him leave, Jiang Jingyu couldn't help but say to Lu Jiaying.

"I say, you're not giving him any face at all. Speaking of his shortcomings in front of his superiors?"

If anyone else had said this, Lu Jiaying might have found it indifferent, but this was Jiang Jingyu, Zhan Beijue's son, the future successor of the Zhan Corporation.

"This is your company, and these people are corrupting your assets. If the young president Jiang feels it's unimportant, I can be more lenient in the future."
