Chapter 209 Tenderness

Ye Yun flicked Ye Qi on the head, "Are you an idiot? Why would you make your mother worry unnecessarily?"

Ye Qi pouted, unconvinced, "Mom understands everything. She's talking about you, why are you bringing me into it?"

Ye Yun glared, "Hey! You want to lecture your father?"

Ye Qi shook his head and pulled Ye Yun further away, "Dad, I know what you're worried about, but aren't you being a bit too cautious?

Perhaps you're overthinking it. His Majesty the Insectoid King doesn't think that way, or perhaps the two children have grown up and have their own ideas."

He was the eldest son of the Ye family, destined to succeed Ye Yun in his position, or at least follow a similar path, dedicating his life to Earth.

However, the current Ye Qi couldn't be as thorough and far-sighted as Ye Yun. He only believed what he saw.

"The future is long and distant. No one can predict what will happen later. Moreover, Dad, that's their future, the future of two people."

Ye Yun remained silent for a long time. Ye Qi almost thought his father had been persuaded when he finally heard Ye Yun speak:

"No father can stand by and watch his son suffer.

Ye Qi, he is my son."

Ye Qi pursed his lips, unable to say anything more.

Everything he had said, Ye Yun might have considered. But a parent's love for their child leads them to plan for the distant future, and Ye Yun was unwilling to take any risks.

Ye Qi sighed, "Forget it. Dad, I'm his brother, I'll always protect him."

Ye Yun patted Ye Qi's shoulder, "Alright, you're busy at the military. Go back."

A stern look flashed across his face, and his voice was as cold as frost under the moonlight, "Those old guys in the political and military circles are still causing trouble. It might implicate you."

Ye Qi frowned, "Are you talking about the matter of the Insectoid King's arrival? That's not your fault."

Ye Yun sneered, "They hoped for good relations between the Insectoid Race and Earth, but not for Ye Yun or Ye Mu to have good relations with the Insectoid Race."

Ye Qi nodded, "Don't worry, I'll be careful."

Ye Yun patted Ye Qi's shoulder again, "Go."

Ye Qi nodded and, through the crack in the door, glanced at Madam Ye and the others before leaving the infirmary without saying goodbye.

Ye Yun stood in place for a moment before stepping into the inner room. Madam Ye was sitting on a small sofa nearby. Luo Qi and Ye Mu were already asleep, leaning against each other on the hospital bed.

Ye Yun glanced at them and then withdrew from the room. Not only Ye Qi needed to be careful, but he also had to return to clean up the mess he had left behind today.

As the anesthetic wore off, Ye Mu's wound felt like it was burning.

However, when he looked at Luo Qi lying beside him, the wound on his back didn't seem so painful anymore.

Luo Qi carefully avoided Ye Mu's wound and nestled beside him, letting out a small yawn.

Ye Mu patted Luo Qi, "Go to sleep for a while."

Cecy stepped into the hovercar and sat down, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Let's go."

Aljer glanced behind him and frowned slightly, "Didn't the little prince return with you? Gal said..."

Cecy raised his hand to stop him and asked, "Where is Gal?"

Aljer replied, "Gal feels he made a mistake and has returned to the Insectoid Star for punishment. This is only right."

Cecy nodded, "He still needs to return to Luo Luo's side. There's no need for severe punishment."

Aljer looked at him in surprise. This was not Cecy's usual style, nor was it the custom of the Insectoid Race, but he still nodded.

Cecy continued, "Luo Luo's hand is injured."

Aljer sat up straight, "Then why didn't you bring the little prince back first? The doctor is already waiting at the residence."

Ever since Luo Qi started attending the primary school on Earth, Cecy had bought a villa not far from the school. The doctor was waiting there now.

Cecy shook his head, "It's already bandaged. As for Luo Luo, I didn't ask, but I suspect he wouldn't want to come back."

Aljer was anxious. If Cecy hadn't ordered him to stay outside and guard, how would he know nothing now?

Cecy was also a person who didn't like to talk much. If Cecy weren't the King of the Insectoid Race, he would have been prying into Cecy's head for answers.

"What exactly happened? Your Majesty, please tell me."

Cecy glanced at him sideways, "What use is it for you to know? Can you coax my son back for me?"

Aljer frowned, "What do you mean by that?"

Cecy sighed, handed his terminal to Aljer, and said, "When the mecha fell, Ye Mu saved Luo Luo."

Aljer tapped the video. It showed the surveillance footage of Ye Mu pushing Luo Qi away. Aljer, just watching, felt his heart nearly leap out of his chest.

He understood Luo Qi's personality. Since Ye Mu was injured saving him, Luo Qi would definitely stay to take care of him.

What surprised him even more was Cecy's attitude. He had initially ordered them to guard outside, fearing it would cause a bigger commotion on Earth.

Later, seeing the little prince injured, he remained rational. In the past, given His Majesty's importance to the little prince, he would have probably forced the little prince back.

The surveillance footage on the terminal was playing for the second time when Aljer suddenly let out a soft laugh.

Cecy looked at him, "What are you laughing at?"

Aljer said, "I just feel that Your Majesty is more gentle than before."

If Aljer were to say this out loud, the entire galaxy would probably laugh their heads off, calling someone gentle to describe the cruel Insectoid King.

But only Aljer knew that not only Cecy, but the entire Insectoid Race had become gentler than before.

The Insectoid Race's style of conduct was as tough as their hard scales, but now, they had a soft treasure, so their hearts had all softened.

Aljer also knew that he wouldn't be able to see the little prince today. While instructing the driver to drive, he said,

"Then I'll have the chef make more pastries tonight and send them to the little prince tomorrow."

Cecy replied, "Yes, and there are two more things I need you to handle. The leadership of Earth is likely to send someone soon. You know what to do."

Aljer frowned. He disliked dealing with those so-called officials from Earth the most. They spoke in circles and never told the truth. Although he understood everything, he didn't like it.

If it weren't for the little prince's playmate, he wouldn't bother talking to them much.

"Your subordinate understands. Does Your Majesty have any other instructions?"

Cecy said, "Watch that surveillance video carefully. I feel something is not right. Go and send people to investigate."

Aljer's expression became serious, "Are you saying that someone deliberately intended to harm the little prince?"

Cecy replied, "Once you find out, tell Ye Yun directly. He will handle it."
