Chapter 118: Bonding time?
***
There was something so pure about their sleeping position when Haruki woke up. It was their most usual position held in each other’s embrace. He removed the man’s hands from his waist and sat up.
Hiroshi unwilling to let go of Haruki naturally adjusted himself and rested his head on Haruki’s lap. "Do you have any plans for today?" he asked Haruki as his hands went under Haruki’s shirt to hug his skin directly.
"Not really, why do you ask?" Haruki asked the man as he reached for his phone from the night stand without telling the man holding him down to stand up.
Both of them missed each other’s bodies for the past few weeks yet none of them made the first move to get sexual satisfaction from each other’s presence. They felt like both a shy reluctant newlywed couple and an old couple.
Haruki tried not to overthink their position as he debated whether to call the manager of the fight club.
He wanted that little bit of action and movements he had gotten used to but he was not whether he needed it with the doctor present after all the only reason he chose such method was because the doctor was absent for too long.
Noticing the doctor hadn’t responded to his question, he bent to look at the man’s face properly. The man’s eyes were closed as though he had gone back to sleep but from the fluttering of the man’s lashes, he knew he was pretending.
"I asked a question," Haruki reminded him after successfully easing the anger from having to repeat himself.
The doctor’s eyes opened slightly and as his arms around Haruki tightened. "I want to spend the day with you. How about we go back to my apartment?" With the same level of relaxation he used to hold Haruki, the doctor asked.
He was not a fan of staying in the man’s house. He felt like there were too many people involved in their life that he wanted to stay with him alone without them.
Ren obviously disliked him and Kiyoshi and the other men in the house saw him as a man who sleeps with their boss for some favours like those actors and actresses who climbed Haruki’s bed.
Somehow, they were not wrong but he didn’t want them to be in the same space with him while he was trying to win Haruki’s heart sincerely. He raised his head slightly from Haruki’s lap when he didn’t get an answer from him.
He looked into Haruki’s eyes calmly as he waited for the answer. He had six months to make the man he was holding fall in love with him. He was left with fewer months than that after wasting away so many weeks.
"Hmmm?"
Haruki looked down at the doctor and remained silent. He was not against the idea of leaving the main house after all, it was the place he was comfortable in anyway but about going to the doctor’s house not one of his penthouses? He was not sure about that.
"We have so much to do," the doctor finally sat up and faced Haruki properly. When Haruki gave him a questioning look, he sighed and added, "I want to make up for the nights I left your bed cold. I want to warm you up."
Haruki felt the urge to laugh hearing the man say such words while looking so calm as though he meant what he said literally not hinting at something else.
"What gives you the idea that I am horny?" Haruki asked as he pushed himself up from the bed and stretched.
"I am horny," Hiroshi murmured under his breath but loud enough for Haruki to hear. He faked a yawn followed by a real one before brushing his hair backwards to get rid of his bed hair and got down from the bed. He walked to Haruki skillfully remaining calm as he didn’t want to be too pushy.
He brushed Haruki’s hair backwards as Haruki looked down at his phone and typed a few things. He returned the phone to the nightstand and glanced at the doctor before walking to the closet.
"Do you have any friends?" Hearing Haruki’s question, Hiroshi’s eyes widened slightly as he responded by shaking his head.
"Fine then, we can leave after breakfast," Haruki agreed to his earlier proposal and walked to the door of the bathroom.
Hiroshi felt ecstatic hearing Haruki’s acceptance. He felt a strong urge to applaud himself but he held back showing his joy through his brightened smile.
Haruki turned and saw that smile. It made him smile. The man reminded him of a loyal puppy. Only a few weeks of being apart and he was certain that Hiroshi had gotten a bit too clingy than usual.
Haruki was bored and the day was destined to be a boring one if he did not fight at night but since the doctor was inviting him, he had no reason to reject him.
On the way to his house with Haruki, Hiroshi thought of the many things he could do to create a bond with Haruki, one Haruki would love but as much as he loved the man, he didn’t know much about Haruki so he decided to know more about him.
"I want to buy a pet. What do you suggest?" Hiroshi’s sudden question caused Haruki to glance at the doctor before facing the window once again.
"I am not a specialist," Haruki replied casually.
"I think I wouldn’t any although I would prefer a low-maintenance pet. I don’t have much time since I’m busy at the hospital anyway."
"Then get a fish or a tortoise."
Haruki’s low voice filled Hiroshi’s ears with this response. He leaned close to Haruki and asked, "Do you mean it? Choose one though." When he noticed Haruki’s gaze became questioning again, he added, "I just want to choose one that won’t keep you away from my home."
"Fishes in an aquarium isn’t a bad idea."
Hiroshi nodded to those words and without hesitation, he searched and told the driver the address of a pet store they were closest to.
Haruki wished he had not followed the man out when Hiroshi began persuading him to follow him into the pet store to buy a fish. His regrets only intensified when he followed Hiroshi in giving in to the plea of the handsome man before him and he was made to participate actively in the selection.
He swallowed and wished he could just turn and leave but as though noticing his desire to leave, Hiroshi led Haruki to a private sitting area.
Haruki’s glares made Hiroshi wonder if he had made a mistake. This was supposed to be something that made Haruki like him more, enough to make him want a relationship with him and yet it felt like Haruki might end up hanging him on the rail on the second-floor balcony.
"I just need to listen to a few explanations about fish care I’ll be back soon," Hiroshi guiltily explained.
Haruki nodded indifferently as he picked up a magazine from the coffee table.
While a bit immersed in what was written in the magazine, the door of the private room was pushed open. Haruki raised his gaze from the words he was reading to the visitor.
"Oh . . . Sorry, I didn’t know . . ."
