The car arrived at the outskirts, and Jiang Ziyu instructed the driver to stop three hundred meters away from the targeted wooden house, within the woods.
She stared at the screen, typing a string of characters.
After sending the message, Di Minghao, inside the wooden house, emerged with his phone.
Just as he was about to leave, Shen Lin arrived from the other side with one hundred million in cash.
The sound of the car alerted Di Minghao. He turned and retreated into the wooden house warily, dialing Di Mingjue's phone with suspicion.
Thanks to the voice changer, his real voice wouldn't be revealed. However, with the different male and female vocal ranges, Jiang Ziyu could discern the other party's gender.
"Where are they?" Di Minghao asked.
Jiang Ziyu, watching the car stop to her left, frowned and cautiously replied, "They've arrived. Where are you? I must see my child when the payment is made."
Di Minghao crawled to the window, his gaze fixed on the patch of woods in front of the wooden house.
The dense foliage of the large trees concealed the interior tightly, making it impossible to see anything from a distance.
Di Minghao turned back to look at the well-behaved and obedient Yuze, saying into the phone, "Take pictures of the buildings around you and send them to me."
Seeing him grow cautious, Jiang Ziyu felt a pang of fear. She looked at the solitary wooden house ahead, worried about Yuze's safety.
There was no time to take pictures of what he wanted, so she had to charge in to rescue him. She casually agreed and hung up the phone.
Jiang Ziyu fell into a thoughtful silence for a long time, then looked down and unbuckled her seatbelt.
"Qianqian is not in Nanshan; she's in the wooden house ahead," Jiang Ziyu replied to Di Mingjue's question before getting out of the car.
Right in front of them!
This information filled her with hope.
"Keep them calm. I'll send someone over immediately."
"No, there's no time."
Jiang Ziyu obstructed Di Mingjue's plan, reaching out to push open the car door.
Instead of waiting passively, she decided to try.
Jiang Ziyu avoided the conspicuous spots and found another direction to stealthily approach the rear of the wooden house.
Unable to help directly, Di Mingjue could only order Shen Lin to follow her.
Two figures, one in front and one behind, stood simultaneously on either side of the wooden house. Jiang Ziyu peered through a cracked opening and saw Yuze.
Perhaps due to their shared blood connection, Yuze turned his head towards Jiang Ziyu's location.
Wait for Mommy, Mommy will save you now!
Jiang Ziyu looked at Yuze with guilt and then stepped forward, continuing towards the entrance.
Shen Lin tried to stop her, but Jiang Ziyu's resolve and determination left him no chance to even raise a hand.
Di Minghao, inside the wooden house, felt increasingly uneasy, his right eye twitching more and more intensely.
*Ding ding!*
Shen Lin's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly fiddled with the wristband on his arm.
The sound from outside reached him. Di Minghao, caught in the spotlight, dared not delay for a moment. He made sure the rope on Yuze's wrist was still secure and turned to leave.
From a distance, inside the car, Di Mingjue had called the police.
A loose stone underfoot attracted Di Minghao's attention.
Was he just too nervous?
That made sense. Why would Di Mingjue appear here? They should be waiting for him in Nanshan right now.
Calming his inner panic, Di Minghao remained uneasy. He took out his phone and once again demanded Jiang Ziyu send proof of her current location in Nanshan.
Separated by just a wall, Jiang Ziyu decided she couldn't stall any longer.
She dashed out from the rear, risking her life, and swung her fist towards Di Minghao.
Although Jiang Ziyu had some training, there was always a difference in strength between men and women. Her punch was caught by the wrist after a single blow.
"Jiang Ziyu!" Di Minghao recognized her immediately.
He yanked Jiang Ziyu forcefully, sneering as he surveyed their surroundings. "Is this all Di Mingjue is capable of? Sending a woman to take the risk. Isn't he quite capable? When did he learn to hide behind women?"
The more he spoke, the more agitated he became. He spun around, shouting into the empty space, "Di Mingjue, you're a coward!"
