Chapter 43 Other Men's Concern

Jiang Wenbin’s eyes were cast askew, fearing that Jiang Feifei would speak out of turn and anger Di Mingjue.

“No… no…”

Even though Di Mingjue couldn’t see her, Jiang Feifei felt guilty and dared not look at him.

Compared to Jiang Ziyu, Jiang Feifei appeared more disheveled. She had just gotten up from the ground, and various colored liquids were mixed on her evening gown.

“Feifei, you were clearly the one making things difficult for Ziyu.” Before Jiang Ziyu could speak, Shen Yan refuted from the side. He approached Jiang Wenbin with an air of righteousness, “Uncle, Feifei is at fault in this matter, and she must apologize to Ziyu.”

Jiang Wenbin was so angry he wanted to curse.

Because of Shen Yan, Jiang Feifei’s heart was tied to him, and she was unwilling to marry Di Mingjue. Now, he dared to shamelessly protect Jiang Ziyu.

Jiang Wenbin gritted his teeth and advised, “Mr. Shen, it would be more appropriate to think before you speak.”

“Shen Yan!” Jiang Feifei shouted loudly in anger.

Watching the three arguing, Jiang Ziyu said to Di Mingjue beside her, “We should go back.”

“Okay.” Di Mingjue nodded.

Shen Lin went to inform the mayor, while Jiang Ziyu led Di Mingjue straight out of the banquet hall through the crowd.

Once in the car, Jiang Ziyu, seeing that Di Mingjue had spoken up for her tonight, carefully fastened his seatbelt.

“Do you know the man from just now?” Di Mingjue asked.

*Click*, the buckle fastened.

Jiang Ziyu looked up and casually replied, “I don’t know him.”

“Remember the one-year agreement. During this period, you had better fulfill your responsibilities. If I discover you tarnishing the Di family’s reputation, I will divorce you immediately.” Di Mingjue felt an inexplicable surge of anger.

What a fickle man!

Jiang Ziyu flung her hand away and, as a form of retaliation, jabbed her elbow at his thigh.

“Are you crazy!” Di Mingjue cried out, clutching the area of his thigh.

Seeing his agitated state, Jiang Ziyu asked with concern, “Are you alright?”

“Get out, stay away from me!” Di Mingjue commanded.

Tch, she didn’t do it on purpose.

Jiang Ziyu ignored him, shifted her body, and turned to look out the window.

Shen Lin was striding towards them, with Shen Yan following behind him.

*Tap*

Jiang Ziyu turned off the overhead light.

The moment he cheated with Jiang Feifei, they had become sworn enemies who would never interact again.

“Turn on the light!” Di Mingjue commanded.

Her memories were jolted back to the present, and Jiang Ziyu remained motionless.

With her vision impaired, why turn on the light!

She watched as the driver’s side door opened from the outside and saw Shen Lin get in.

When the car reached the entrance of the Di residence, Jiang Ziyu handed Di Mingjue over to Shen Lin and went upstairs to her room first.

Grabbing a change of clothes, she opened the door and entered the bathroom.

Downstairs, Shen Lin’s hesitant demeanor caught Di Mingjue’s attention.

“Do you have something to say?” Di Mingjue asked.

Shen Lin stopped and glanced upstairs, “Just as we were leaving the banquet hall, a Mr. Shen from Shen Group called out to me.”

“Shen Group?” Di Mingjue couldn’t recall who it was.

“The one who spoke up for Madam tonight.”

Reminded by Shen Lin, Di Mingjue finally remembered. He had asked Jiang Ziyu about their relationship in the car. It seemed that woman had lied to him!

“What did he ask you?” Di Mingjue pressed unhappily.

“He inquired about Madam’s situation at the Di residence and… and asked if you had been bullying her.” Shen Lin’s voice gradually lowered towards the end.

Bullying?

Di Mingjue let out a laugh.

Mere seconds later, he spoke coldly, ordering, “Investigate their relationship.”

He would not allow anyone to tarnish the Di family’s reputation.

Shen Lin nodded and prepared to escort him upstairs.

The seed of curiosity sprouted and grew in Di Mingjue’s heart. He was eager to know the answer immediately and refused Shen Lin’s assistance to go upstairs.

Dismissing Shen Lin, he relied on the muscle memory from recent days and, holding onto the railing, walked upstairs by himself.
